It had been a week since Nazareth began contacting the Mechanicus outpost in the Shadowlands. The exchange of information between the two parties and the confirmation of whether Nazareth was truly a Primarch occurred daily for that full week.
What Nazareth had discovered was that he was currently on a planet called Noyolea with its moon, Luis. Nazareth further found out that within the solar system, there were a total of eight celestial bodies, with one being a super gas giant. Meanwhile, the previous two inhabited planets were the Forge World called Noyolis and the Hive World called Rubinda.
The Martian or Imperial calendar, give or take, was currently 799.M30, with the Great Crusade initiated by the Emperor having begun nearly a full year ago. This stood out to Nazareth as, within his mind, the time he had spent travelling through the warp and on the planet was only six to seven weeks. (No memes here.)
When Nazareth told Archer over vox about this distortion in time, Archer replied that, with their current understanding of this giant Saturn-sized planet with even older technology present, the already discovered Dark Aeldari and Exodite remnants could be what distorted the time flow. However, since arriving, the Mechanicus outpost and the Ark ship currently in orbit had constantly scanned the planet for any anomalies, only to find none.
Nazareth asked when he could arrive at the Mechanicus base to then be returned to the Emperor. This sentence had come out of Nazareth's mouth from his mind's decision to return early; however, Nazareth had received news that returning was nearly impossible, as the Mechanicus base was constantly under attack, and sending any units to collect and send Nazareth off-world could result in the loss of the Holy Machines and buildings being built, a result deemed by the cogitators to be too costly.
Nazareth, hearing of these attacks, questioned when they had begun and who, in their right mind, would attack with no initiation from the Mechanicus side.
These questions were stumped, as the Mechanicus couldn't reply, and without any visual evidence of these attacks being transferred to Nazareth, as he only had a vox and not a terminal - this made Nazareth even more annoyed.
On Archer's side, however, many things had occurred, from even older technology being buried outside the outpost to the Dark Aeldari and Exodite ruins being calculated to be only a few million years old, whereas these ruins buried deeper than the previous set were calculated by cogitators to be close to eighty million years old.
This discovery made the Xenarites' calculator modules output literal heaves of smoke as they discovered the first set of buildings buried a total of five hundred metres below the Dark Aeldari and Exodite buildings underground.
Furthermore, the command outpost, which had previously been on track to be completed using the Holy Machines of the Titanicus Legion Noyoleais, had been halted as the battles from the hordes of beasts and dragons had caused significant damage to many of the Warhounds and the loss of one of them. This damage and change of priorities caused the construction of non-critical systems to be rerouted to the construction and expansion of the defence grid surrounding the outpost and digging site.
As it stands, the outpost's defence originally consisted of ten metres of barbed wire, automated turrets, and other anti-animal and humanoid traps. This clearing was then expanded to fifty instead.
Already, the landing zone had to be expanded, making room for another set of three Pegasus transport ships, along with the three already present, constantly funnelling materials and resources whilst the tides of beasts had receded. Previously, due to the ignorance of the Genetors ignoring Archer's stern warnings about collecting hazardous biological material, a large section of the biological and excavation parts of the facility had to be burned down due to those ignorant fools experimenting on those beasts.
These fruitless endeavours resulted in the loss of twenty percent of combat, research, and manual labour servitors.
Nazareth, throughout his discussions, also received a broadcast from Jurten regarding their arrival at Meereen. This stunned Nazareth that the four men had travelled nearly two hundred and ninety miles in a week. What mildly horrified Nazareth was that during the week, he had received points ranging from ten to, at one point, nearly a hundred and six, all within an hour.
After discussing the next part of Nazareth's plan for Meereen with Jurten, the watchmaster simply ended the call/vox before restarting his journey with his men to capture the city for Nazareth.
Astapor, throughout the week, had settled, with Daenerys coming to live within Kraznys' villa and reorganising the populace of now-freed slaves. What shocked Nazareth was Barristan Selmy arriving with ten knights who all promptly knelt and swore loyalty to Daenerys.
Daenerys, for that matter, promptly accepted the knights with open arms, whilst Jorah, upon seeing Selmy, began trading insult for insult with the old knight. Jorah was then punished by Daenerys for insulting the knight who had, yes, served the man who killed her father; however, seeing the knight practically beg to be accepted made something within her give way for the ser to join her ranks.
Ultimately, with the help of the ten knights, who had also sworn to protect Daenerys, with Barristan taking the lead, they quelled the insurgents who were not happy with Daenerys' rule, even though it had begun only a week ago. Nazareth had sat through the whole restructuring of Astapor by claiming a random villa not burned by fire as his home and promptly sat and talked with the Mechanicus for the full week.
His plan of using Daenerys and her dragons was thrown out the window when contact with the Mechanicus was established.
Nazareth looked out of his window from his bedroom overlooking one of the plazas, which housed some Unsullied standing in military procession whilst a knight was shouting at them.
Today was the day he was supposed to meet Daenerys, as the woman believed that Nazareth was more "useful", or so that's what Nazareth was told, as Jill had stripped and replaced her normal military uniform for servant rags and managed to enter the "small council", where Missandei, Grey Worm, Jorah, Selmy, and Daenerys all discussed the matters of ruling the city.
Today was to be an interesting day indeed, and if push came to shove, Nazareth would just cut down those ignorant mortals who seemed to want control over him.
