I pressed her back against the cold hospital wall with force, hoisting her body up until she had no choice but to wrap her legs around my waist. I needed her closer, needed to feel every tremor of her heartbeat against mine, needed her to understand that she wasn't walking away from me again. Not now. Not when she was carrying my child.
"You belong to me, Julia. Every single inch of you. Don't you dare forget it."
"Gavin, please stop, we can't do this here, this is a hospital, people will hear us," she breathed, her voice trembling even as her fingers gripped my shoulders like she couldn't decide whether to push me away or pull me closer.
