Year 11 – Autumn, The Reflected Realm
The mirror-tree had grown restless.Every few hours, its leaves quivered with pale light, and from the roots came a song too mournful to be mortal. The air above the sea shimmered faintly, forming a silver gate veined with crimson code.
Ketsuraku stood before it, armored in blood-forged steel that drank the light around him. The Reflected Realm trembled with his heartbeat; seven astral clones waited behind him, their forms rippling like echoes.
"You're really going," Luminous said, her tone caught between curiosity and warning."A goddess asked for help," he answered simply. "If she's alive, she knows something about the World Tree. Maybe even how to grow it."Rosa adjusted the strap on her dagger. "Or she's a trap with good hair.""Then I'll bleed her lies out with respect."
The Red Code Dragon appeared above the gate, its voice like thunder disguised as laughter.
"Her call bleeds through reality. If you answer, mortal, you won't just see Alfheim — you'll touch its dying soul."
Ketsuraku grinned. "Then open the song."
Through the Mirror Gate
He stepped through the silver curtain, and the world folded around him.
For a moment, there was nothing—no sound, no shape, only color. Then came the sensation of falling through a dream made of mirrors.
When the light broke, he was standing on a cliff of marble roots, overlooking a vast expanse of dying forest. The skies were gray and veined with golden cracks. Trees once bright with life had turned to crystal husks. Rivers bled silver.
The air itself tasted like sorrow.
In the distance, he saw the heart of Alfheim: a massive tree trunk hollowed by time, its crown broken and bleeding light. Around it fluttered pale-winged elves gathering the last blossoms from its branches.
And beside them, her.
Cartethyia.
The Elf Goddess
She stood barefoot upon the roots, her rose-blonde hair catching the dim sun, her gray eyes calm but exhausted. The red crown on her head glowed faintly with each heartbeat, its crystal petals floating like embers. Her robes of white and scarlet swayed in a wind heavy with ash.
When she turned, her gaze found him instantly.
"So the reflection answered."
Her voice was music—ancient, slow, and heavy with the weight of countless prayers.
Ketsuraku approached, boots sinking into silver dust."Cartethyia, I presume."
"Once, perhaps," she said softly. "Now only the echo of her."
The ground beneath them pulsed with faint life as she raised her hand. A withered root sprouted from the soil, trembling, before blooming into a single crimson lily.
"You carry the blood of creation," she said, eyes lingering on the faint glow within his chest. "The seed that left us. The last fragment of the World Tree's reflection.""You mean this?" He touched his chest. "It's killing me slowly.""Then let me teach you to make it live instead."
The Dying Root
She led him deeper into the heart of the forest, where the roots of the broken World Tree wound through the earth like veins. Thousands of elves knelt there in prayer, their faces pale, their light dim.
"Every cycle," Cartethyia said, "the corruption spreads further. The roots rot. Our children fade. Even my song no longer reaches the core."
Ketsuraku placed his hand on one of the dying roots. It was cold, fragile — yet beneath it, he felt a faint pulse, like a heart waiting to be revived.
He closed his eyes.Blood Qi and Void Qi spiraled from his palm. Crimson veins spread across the root, weaving into it, forcing the corruption out in black mist.
The elves gasped. The ground shook as the rot retreated.Cartethyia's eyes widened.
"You bend death itself.""No," Ketsuraku said quietly. "I just sell it different."
Union of Light and Blood
The corruption wasn't gone yet — the deeper veins still fought back. Cartethyia stepped beside him, placing her hand atop his. Her touch was cool, glowing with divine radiance. Together, Blood and Light Qi fused into a single energy — Crimson Radiance.
It flowed through the roots like wildfire.
The forest roared to life. Silver turned to red-gold. Flowers bloomed along the dying roots. The air vibrated with divine energy, and a faint echo of the World Tree's song filled the heavens.
When it was done, the goddess knelt beside the root, breathing heavily.
"You did what I could not in centuries," she whispered. "You brought my world back from its reflection."
He extended his hand. "Then let's make it last."She smiled faintly and took it. Her fingers glowed, fusing their energies for a moment.
The elves watched as their goddess's crown flared bright red.

The Promise
When the light faded, Cartethyia stood close to him, her expression unreadable.
"You're not like the Aeons. You make life from ambition, not faith.""And you?""I kept faith until it turned to ash. Maybe ambition will save what worship couldn't."
She leaned forward slightly, voice barely a whisper.
"If I give you my people, will you protect them?""If I take them, they'll fight beside me.""Then take me too," she said simply. "Let our worlds grow together."
The crown on her head flared crimson, light circling both of them. The contract sealed itself in silence.
The Red Code Dragon's voice echoed faintly through the gate behind him.
"Careful, Jarl. You just married a world."
Ketsuraku only smiled."Then it's about time the river met the roots."

As night fell over Alfheim, the once-dying world glowed with new life. The elves sang again under the reborn tree, and Cartethyia stood beside Ketsuraku, her gray eyes reflecting the same red light in his.
Above them, the heavens shimmered—two realms now bound, one by divine grace, the other by blood and will.
And far beyond the stars, something ancient stirred, watching the union with burning envy.
"The mortal builds worlds," whispered a distant Aeon. "Then let him see how easily they burn."
