{Gale's Pov cont'd}
Falling from that height into the rushing river below made me pass out as it felt like a thousand needles were inserted into my body. Drifting along the river path, I was suddenly yanked out by a strong arm. "Yo, Evan I caught a kid" a thick male voice drifted into my ears as he placed me against a tree trunk. Suddenly feel an intense hunger, my once weak body suddenly gained strength as my throat felt dry. I instinctively lunged at the man before me not expecting him to throw me against a tree.
"Wooow, woow.....I think I got myself a little vampire" he said chuckling to his companion. "Good for you Matty" Evan said as he focused intensely on fishing making Matt to roll his eyes at him. Moving closer to where I layed as I coughed out blood, he crouched down before me staring at me as if just found something disturbing. "You were just turned" he said examining me, I was to weak from hunger to even care about what he's saying. "Who is cruel enough to turn such a young boy? Hmm... surprisingly you're not burning under the sun like normal vampires" he placed his hand on his chin rubbing it as he squints observing me. "Oh I see, you have the ring, that's what's protecting you from burning" he stated pointing out the ring I didn't know was on me. As I looked closely at the ring I noticed it was the same the children that was turned were given when he was on the line trying to look for an opening to escape.
I took the ring off as I threw it, my leg that wasn't shielded by the shade of the tree started burning making me draw it to myself as I crouched myself under the tree.
Noticing my weird actions Matt decided to change his mind and spear me as I piqued his curiosity. "Tell me little one, how were you turn and I might consider helping you out" he said as he gazed at the boy before him. Hearing the man before me can do something to help I looked up at him hope filled my heart once again. "We were attacked by a vampire on our was to camp, the driver was killed by a man who claims to be 10 thousand years old, my best friend was turned with the other kids and he...he killed my sister and I managed to escape after I was bitten" I explained tears started to fall off as the memory of how my sister's throat was cut open by Thomas. "I don't want to be like them, I never want to be like them. They're evil, they killed Daniel" I said as I cried my eyes out. "I failed to protect her and I promised to protect her" I cried the words I told her the most.
The man before me gazed pitiful at me as he pats my shoulder. "I can help you but for me to do that you need to pledge your loyalty to me. Since you've seen a vampire, would you prefer to be a werewolf? It's the only way you can walk under the sun with that ring" he said pointing in the direction the ring went. Gritting my teeth as the scene of my sister's death played in my mind again. "I would rather be anything else than be the same as those who took my sister from me". "Alright then, prepare yourself " he said as he started taking off his clothes making me move away only to get burnt again. "Hiss" I hissed in pain. "Hold your horses little one, I won't touch you, I just want to shift" Matt said as he began to transform into a huge wolf right before my eyes. I was shocked beyond measure at the sight before me. Calm down kid, I won't hurt you" Matt assured me. "Do you still want to go through with it?" He asked again thinking I could have a change of mind. "Yes",I replied immediately as I closed eyes anticipating the pain. Matt bit my arm as I felt something passing through my veins, opening my eyes I saw green and black lines as my body started burning up all over making me loose consciousness.
Waking up only to find myself in a room as Sun light crept in through the window stopping on my hand. I instinctively withdrew my hand to avoid the burn, checking it only to find nothing but intact skin, the burns from the woods are also fully healed. I was so surprised that I placed my hand under the sun ray only to withdraw it immediately, there was no burns. Finally gathering my courage I placed it my hand under the sun, I waited for a long time no burns. ''You're awake, welcome to the Crescent moon pack" Matt said smiling as he stood at the entrance of the room. "Thank you sir" I said as joy filled my heart. "You don't have to thank me, you almost died because I turned you out of curiosity so you can just say it's a win win situation" I stared at him totally stunned.
After calming down I asked "What am I now?" I looked at hoping the result would be good. "A hybrid" he replied looking at me as if he were looking at a rare gem. "Hybrid? What's an hybrid?" I asked staring at him in confusion. "Half werewolf, half vampire" he said staring at him as if I were dumb. "Hybrids are rare but extremely powerful, they possess both werewolf and vampire abilities. You're a treasure kid". He explained ruffling my hair.
Ever since that day I stayed at the Crescent moon pack as I trained hard till I joined the elite team at 18 and becoming the captain of my team at the age of 21. I occasionally visit my parents not daring to show my face nothing wanting their lives to be as chaotic as mine.
****Back in the present****
{Narrator's pov}
After Alpha Matt exited the dungeon, Gale's rage became unrestrained.
"If only you knew how long I've waited for this day to come". I said moving closer to the cell bar. "Gale, I know you hate me right now but can you just listen to what I have to say first?" The vampire said his former arrogance nowhere to found. "Tell me Thomas, what is there that can be said? Can you bring my sister back to life? No! You can't!!" He said raising his voice as he used both hands to separate the bar making it to bend creating an opening for him. The dungeon alarm system turned on, Gale entered the cell with Thomas as he transformed into his Wolf form which resembles a lycan. He grabbed Thomas by the throat squeezing it as he lifts him up.
The chocking Thomas tried to speak. "W.. when I was transformed, I didn't know what I was doing, I only did what I did because I felt obliged to do so, I was being controlled" he said trying to convince his old friend. "You've always know me Gale, I would never hurt Daniel, she was like a sister to me " Thomas said making Gale swing him towards the wall as he falls to the ground making his body burn upon coming in contact with the silver defence mechanism.
"I don't want to hear your pathetic excuse, you took her for me and it can only be a life for a life" he said stumping heavily on Thomas as the sound of bones breaking and and agonising scream travelled through the dungeon. When he finally stopped, Thomas breath was already weak but he started recovering slowly. Thomas smiled as looked at him friend "If you say so then so will it be Tangiro" he said as tears fell from his eyes unto his cheeks as memories from how they met till how they separated replayed in his mind as treasured Gale so much. "My master is the 7th elder, Vladimir Mortem" he said his body slowly disintegrating into dust as nothing remained of him. Gale collapsed on the floor crying.
Far from the Crescent moon pack, deep into the Western woods, an ancient Castle came into view as it was shrouded in darkness. In the throne Hall of the castle, a pale figure was seen sitted on it with its eyes closed. It's eyes suddenly snapped open showing a dark red iris. The creature stared at the woods through the large window before him.
