My head feels too heavy, a dull ache hit the left side of my head. Eva's words are still echoing inside my skull, bouncing around, refusing to settle.
"They have already succeeded, they have something precious to you, they want you to come on your own, through a portal, your dream."
I lie on my bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to make sense of everything, but instead all of it becomes more complicated. I feel a little more calm than before, my shaking fingers becomes steady. I slowly let the tiredness I feel take total control, I slip into an unknown darkness.
I hear someone calling my name, a faint whisper at first. "Raya"
I opened my eyes and suddenly I'm not in my room anymore.
I'm standing on a narrow path covered by darkness. The air feels familiar and scary, as if the path is closing in on me, cold wind brushes past, carrying a smell like burnt meat and rusty iron. Shadows swims around my feet like long fingers.
