Emily stood at the bedroom window, looking out at Cloud City's lights, she was thinking about how to handle Monday's ceremony.
Timothy's arms wrapped around her from behind, pulling her against his chest. "You're thinking too much."
"I can't help it," Emily admitted. "Everything feels like it's building toward something.
"Shh," Timothy interrupted, turning her to face him. "Tonight, none of that exists. Tonight is just us."
Emily looked up at him, seeing the intensity in his eyes. "Just us?"
"Just us," Timothy confirmed, his hands sliding down to her waist. "No threats. No ceremony. No enemies. Just you and me."
He kissed her slowly, deeply, and Emily felt the tension begin to dissolve. This was what she needed to stop thinking, stop worrying, and just feel.
"I need you," Emily whispered against his mouth.
"You have me," Timothy promised. "Always."
