Floor 21 wasn't a sterile arena or a dusty crypt. It was... a sewer. Or at least, a dungeon trying its best to look like one.
The air was damp and smelled strongly of mildew and stagnant water. Murky green water, about ankle-deep, covered the cracked stone floor. Narrow walkways hugged the curved walls, occasionally interrupted by grates overflowing with suspiciously glowing slime. Blue torches still flickered, casting eerie reflections on the water's surface.
"Charming," I muttered, wrinkling my nose. At least my leather boots were waterproof.
I checked my status. `[Level 18]`, `[HP: 180/180]`, `[MP: 50/50]` (fully regenerated). My skills, especially `[Mana Dart]` and `[Minor Ward]`, were still pathetic F-Ranks, but they existed.
Splsh.
A ripple disturbed the murky water ahead. Something small and green, with bulbous, fish-like eyes, poked its head above the surface. It let out a series of wet, croaking sounds.
