She simply lacked the ability to bear the consequences. With few members and low combat power, she simply couldn't handle various unpredictable risks.
Under her restraint, they continued following the principles of secrecy and seclusion.
Now meeting Thea offered her a glimmer of hope. Regardless of whether Thea's promise was genuine, her earlier display of easily handling thirty-plus people proved one thing beyond doubt—this woman could fight. She was a formidable fighter!
Though they'd reformed today, Indigo-1's experience as a villain remained. A leader's fighting ability determined an organization's lifespan.
This rule was ironclad on most planets. The leader's strength determined how far the organization could go. Indigo-1 finally made up her mind and reached out to accept the Book of Nok.
Leading these hundred-plus people didn't really constitute power. She gave it up readily. Returning the favor, Indigo-1 also helped Thea by proclaiming loudly: "Thea Queen is our sister. She can assume leadership of the Indigo Tribe."
From the earlier illusion battles, everyone knew her name. No awkward scene of asking "Who's Thea?" occurred.
Still, they responded with silence.
Looks like it still comes down to strength. Thea sighed inwardly. As Indigo leader, pulling out the Yellow Lantern ring would be completely inappropriate. Using other powers to suppress them was also meaningless.
She could only don the Indigo ring and change into that slightly embarrassing outfit. This garment used ridiculously little fabric. The top was just a small vest barely covering the essentials. Her entire abdomen, arms, and back were exposed to the air.
The bottom was even more exaggerated—a triangular undergarment with two long cloth panels tied front and back. Nothing else.
Compared to Green and Yellow Lanterns who were wrapped tightly in bodysuits, the Indigo Tribe took minimalist style to the extreme. Baring legs wasn't enough—they didn't even have shoes!
Creating such crude uniforms made even Thea want to dig up Abin Sur's grave. You really did treat the Indigo Tribe as cannon fodder, didn't you? Not even providing decent clothes.
Unfortunately, unlike rings, once uniforms were set, they couldn't be modified. Thea could only fight in this getup.
Fortunately, she had flight capability. Hovering half a meter off the ground, she addressed everyone: "Come at me together. Let me teach you about combat between ring bearers." Finishing her words, she manifested an indigo giant and stepped inside, waiting for them to make the first move.
Learning she intended to fight a hundred people alone, the Indigo members found it hard to accept. You were indeed impressive before, but if you don't use those lightning and storm abilities and only rely on your ring, you think you can take on a hundred of us alone? Several hot-tempered members immediately attacked. Following their lead, the rest joined in.
Thea sneered. With her discernment, she could tell that as former universal criminals, these people possessed varying special abilities. But seeing Thea abandon her own abilities to fight with only the ring, they made the same choice.
Living in seclusion, this group severely lacked experience in ring combat. Not only was there no coordination between them, their attack timing was extremely chaotic. Some even had their constructs collide with each other.
Thea's ring was inferior to Indigo-1's—that was undeniable. However, it was still superior to these folks individually.
Add her extensive ring combat experience, and her construct giant charging into the crowd produced a crushing effect.
Experience let her fight like a martial arts master thrashing ordinary people. Physical capabilities weren't vastly different, but experience and skill formed an insurmountable gap.
Thea could casually manifest various legendary creatures and high-tech weapons. This group, having lived in seclusion long-term, had nearly exhausted imaginations. Previously all criminals, their creativity was quite limited.
The hammers and chains they manifested were toys to Thea. She beat the Indigo members into a pile.
Dismissing her construct, Thea nodded at Indigo-1. She immediately took out the Book of Nok. Endless emotional energy began healing everyone's external injuries.
The Indigo members slowly stood up, their expressions unpleasant. Thea was too lazy to play "winning through virtue" games. She pointed out each person's construct flaws one by one.
No one could argue. They lowered their heads, acknowledging this leadership change.
The following days, Thea remained on this planet. She usually guided everyone on ring usage techniques. The rest of the time, she discussed various matters with Indigo-1.
Through her explanations, Indigo-1 learned they'd all been in temporary worker status without registered names. Much of what they'd done was actually meaningless, especially with the Indigo central battery in a constant state of output without input.
Thea couldn't stay here long. She also brought Indigo-1 to meet Proselyte. Unlike Thea's child-coaxing approach to the entity, Indigo-1 encountered this form of creature unexpectedly and trembled in fear.
Young Proselyte had thought it gained another playmate, but Indigo-1's pale terror made it unhappy. This further elevated Thea's value.
Thea only understood this point afterward. Being a demigod, she wasn't far removed from beings like these. Especially having met the teenage entity Parallax, facing young Proselyte naturally posed no psychological barrier.
Indigo-1 was just an ordinary person. No matter her ability or wisdom, that couldn't change. Facing the pure-energy Proselyte, managing a greeting was already a display of strong will.
Thea didn't push her too hard. After all, I introduced you. If you're too scared to speak, I can't help that.
With the Indigo Tribe on track, the happiest was the old man named Natromo. He seemed to have set down a thousand-pound burden. Except for occasionally mentioning why Abin Sur wouldn't come back to see him, he spent the rest of his time cheerful.
Another happy "person" was the entity Proselyte. Previously, the Indigo Tribe hadn't followed proper registration procedures. Though they personally generated massive compassion energy daily, because the process was wrong, Proselyte couldn't touch any of it. Occasionally Natromo came to extract energy, leaving it with constant outflow and no income. How miserable.
Now everything was regularized. The young entity finally enjoyed its deserved benefits.
Every day, vast compassion emotions flowed into the central battery. The entity within was so happy it wanted to jump out.
Plus Thea—skilled at coaxing children—chatted with it from time to time. The entity felt these were its happiest days.
Thea wasn't idle either. Internal reorganization began within the tribe. Construct ability was fundamental—everyone needed to learn this. Teleportation was an Indigo-unique skill that couldn't be abandoned. She opened several classes: literacy, beginner, advanced.
