Chapter 40 - CHAPTER 40: seventh master

"Miss Grant, I need to step out for a moment. The cat from upstairs got loose."

Ella raised an eyebrow. "Suit yourself."

She knew it! How could someone like Mary Johnson, just a young girl, afford to run such a place? There must be some big shot backing her.

As for that big shot...

Ella Grant took a deep breath, sensing a familiar scent in the air. It felt like someone she knew.

Meanwhile, Mary Johnson hurried upstairs and was shocked to see a man lying on the floor.

"Seventh Master!"

The man on the ground was none other than Lenn Pei.

If she had seen anyone who could rival Elle Grant, it was rare to find a woman, but as for men, there was one who came to mind—Lenn himself.

"Seventh Master, I'll go check on her," Mary said.

Lenn nodded.

A gentle breeze stirred the curtains, and before he knew it, a petite figure appeared on the windowsill.

"How coincidental."

Lenn Pei smiled and greeted Ella Grant.

Seeing Lennox looking so weak, as if he had just recovered from a serious illness, Ella frowned. This man had really let himself go, which was so unlike him.

"Not a coincidence at all. I came specifically to see you."

Ella strutted down from the
