Chapter 45 - CHAPTER 45: Stella

For instance, when Lenn saved Ella Grant, the man who usually despised trouble, why would he feel sympathy for the Grant family's weak and brainless heiress?

Today, Ella had appeared again, and Lenn had even instructed Nate to take more photos of her, wanting a comprehensive set. Now, after staring at the photos for five minutes, Nate was left wondering what was going on.

"Young Master, she's from the Grant family."

Nate Andrews said only this.

Lenn Pei raised an eyebrow. "So what?"

Nate Andrews was at a loss for words.

"Do you find her interesting?"

Nate didn't know how to respond; he had never interacted with her,so how could he know much about her?

"I think she's quite intriguing. Who cares which family she's from?"

Nate finally understood; his boss wasn't really asking for his opinion, he just wanted to express his own feelings. On the ride home, Elle Grant suddenly remembered something.

In her memory, the Pei family was far from the simple picture people often painted. Lenn Pei's situation was similar to hers; his mother was the original wife, but his father, had abandoned him after becoming successful. It wasn't until over a decade later that he remembered he had a son out there somewhere.

By that time, Lenn already had three younger brothers and a stepmother, the current Mrs. Pei. Ella had heard that she was quite a formidable character, so it was likely that the well-known Lenn had a tough time when he first returned.

Ella Grant wanted to know more about Lenn Pei, but she had been too focused on living her own little life to dig into the upper-class gossip. The bits she knew were pieced together from her previous life's scant memories.

From what she could gather, Lenn Pei's current symptoms were quite severe, likely due to a serious illness he had suffered from a few years ago. It seemed to be caused by poisoning, and this was no ordinary poison—something that only a select few could obtain.

Who would go to such lengths to harm Lenn Pei?

After thinking for a while without any leads or clues to follow, Ella decided to set the question aside for now.

Leo Grant then asked, "Sister, I'm heading to a nearby store to pick up some clothes. Do you want to come with me? I can buy you something nice."

Ella was about to decline when the car stopped, and she happened to spot a familiar figure ahead. Instantly, she changed her mind.

Over there, Stella Grant was out shopping with a few of her close friends and had just spotted a dress she really liked.

Just as Stella was about to ask the sales associate to get the item down for her to try, Emily Carter, from the Carter family, tugged at her sleeve as if she had discovered something amazing. "Stella, look! Isn't that your brother?"

Stella Grant turned to see that it was indeed Leo Grant.

Before she could even see who was following leo, Emily and another friend, Julie Brown, began chatting excitedly.

"I was just wondering why your driver hadn't picked you up yet. Turns out your brother is here to get you!"

"Oh my gosh, that's so sweet! Your brother really dotes on you! And he's a big star too—wow, he's so handsome!"

Emily's eyes sparkled with admiration, almost glued to leo's outfit.

Stella felt a twinge of doubt. Her brother had always been distant with her; why would he come to pick her up today?

"I'm so jealous of you, Stella! If I had a brother like that, I'd be the happiest person alive."
