hesitant to talk to her.
"For my brother," Ella replied.
Sean fell silent. If it was a gift for someone like Oliver, a big shot, he felt he wouldn't have much to offer in terms of suggestions. The gap between them was too vast; how could he possibly know what someone like Oliver would like?
Ella, feeling a bit bored, wandered around and had just stepped out of a men's clothing store when she suddenly heard a cheerful voice call out, "Ella!"
Sean Anderson rubbed his eyes in disbelief.
"Ryan? I thought you went abroad! What are you doing back here?"
Ella Grant felt the name was oddly familiar, as if it had surfaced in the original owner's memories. After a moment of thought, she realized it was true—this Ryan was someone the original owner knew and had always liked her.
Her only impression of him was that he was deeply affectionate and persistently devoted. Unfortunately, while Ryan had feelings for her, Ella had never felt the same way. She had always seen him as just a good friend, while Ryan willingly waited for her.
It was only when Ryan heard that Ella was getting married that he was heartbroken and left for another place. Little did he know how small the world was, and now they had crossed paths again.
Ryan gazed deeply at Ella's face, finally seeing the person he had longed for. He didn't regret coming back.
"Ella, I'm back."
Ryan was quite handsome, but whether in the past or present, Ella had never felt anything for him. Her expression remained unchanged, showing no signs of emotion, and she appeared indifferent.
Sean Anderson awkwardly glanced between the two, wanting to say something to lighten the mood, but Ryan spoke up first. "How about we grab a coffee?"
"No, I still want to buy more things."
Ella Grant said flatly, but Ryan was not ready to give up.
"Ella, don't hide it from me. I know you called off the wedding. I came back specifically to talk to you. Can you just chat with me for a bit?"
The hopeful look in Ryan's eyes made Ella feel a strange sense of compassion. From the original memories she had, this person had treated her well, and she didn't want to be too heartless, especially with Sean Anderson encouraging her from the side.
"Fine."
Thirty minutes later, the two of them were sitting in a café. Ryan was busy ranting about Quinn Lee, calling him a jerk while trying to comfort Ella.
"Stop talking about him, it's disgusting."
Ella Grant didn't even want to hear that name anymore.
"Okay, then what are you planning to do next, Ella?" Ryan asked cautiously, afraid that she might overthink things. He patted his chest reassuringly. "Don't worry, I'll always be on your side. With me around, no one can bully you."
EllaGrant didn't respond. She didn't need anyone's protection right now.
As they were talking, they didn't notice a black stretch limousine
