"Tien Wang ge ge, I'm here!"
He Xiao Sing appeared before Mo Tien Wang, greeting him with a sweet smile. For some reason, she was feeling more and more comfortable being around him.
Seeing her arrival, Mo Tien Wang felt quite pleased. He was happy to see the girl again, though he still couldn't shake off the irritation from this morning's events.
"Xiao Sing… don't get too close to those two new people—especially the one named Yang Wan Tong. Stay away from him as much as possible!"
He Xiao Sing was startled by Mo Tien Wang's words. She hadn't expected him to know what was happening outside, especially since he was still trapped down here. She couldn't help but wonder how he found out everything.
"Don't look so surprised. I'm a demon. Even though I'm sealed here, my hearing can reach hundreds of miles. If I wish to, I can hear anything I want."
He Xiao Sing was deeply impressed by Mo Tien Wang's ability. She truly wished that one day she could be as powerful as he was.
"All right, ge ge, I'll obey your command. I'll keep my distance from my two senior brothers."
"Aren't you curious why I told you to stay away from them?"
Mo Tien Wang raised an eyebrow as he asked her. He found it strange that she would agree so easily without question.
"I trust you, Tien Wang ge ge. I believe you would never harm me. If you're telling me to stay away from them, it must be for my own good."
Mo Tien Wang was moved by her response. Her innocence both warmed and worried him. He was happy that she trusted him so much, yet he feared that one day her naivety would lead her to be taken advantage of.
"My sweet little Xiao Sing… the more I get to know you, the more I worry about you."
He Xiao Sing looked puzzled by his words. She didn't think there was anything to worry about. As long as she did nothing wrong, everything would be fine—or so she believed.
"Listen, Xiao Sing. Most humans in this world can't be trusted. They're consumed by desire and envy. You must always be cautious of those around you. Don't trust anyone too easily—especially men!"
He Xiao Sing blinked in confusion. But wasn't Mo Tien Wang a man too? Did that mean she shouldn't trust him either?
"But ge ge, you're a man too… does that mean I can't trust you?"
"Silly girl. I'm different from other men. I'm a demon. Besides, aren't we bound by a blood pact? I could never harm you."
He Xiao Sing nodded in understanding. What he said made sense—but for some reason, her heart felt a little disappointed. She realized that Mo Tien Wang was only kind to her because of the blood pact between them.
"Come now, stop daydreaming and start cultivating your inner energy. I'll watch over you."
Mo Tien Wang's voice snapped her out of her thoughts. She pushed away her disappointment, reminding herself that their relationship was built on mutual benefit. She shouldn't expect more than that.
He Xiao Sing then spent the whole day training, stopping only when the sun began to set.
"Tien Wang ge ge, I'll head back now. I still need to prepare dinner for my Father and my Master. I'll come back again tonight."
Mo Tien Wang nodded but held her wrist before she left to check her pulse. After a brief moment, he smiled in satisfaction.
"Good job, Xiao Sing. Keep training diligently. At this rate, I believe we'll be able to leave this place soon."
"All right, Tien Wang ge ge! I'll train even harder. I'm going now!"
With that, He Xiao Sing vanished from his sight, not wanting to raise suspicion by being late with dinner.
======================================
"She Mei He, may I help you?"
Huang Cin Sen saw He Xiao Sing busy in the kitchen and offered to help. Ever since their first meeting, he had fallen for her and was eager to win her heart.
"Thank you, She Siong Huang, but I don't need any help. Please wait in the dining hall; dinner will be ready soon."
He Xiao Sing politely declined his offer, remembering Mo Tien Wang's warning to stay away from her two senior brothers.
"Please, She Mei He, let me help you. I really want to. Don't refuse me, okay?"
Huang Cin Sen tried to persuade her, unwilling to give up. He only had six months here and was determined to capture her heart before his time was up.
Seeing his persistence, He Xiao Sing finally relented and allowed him to help serve the dishes.
When they entered the dining room, Ong Hai San, Li Xu Xian, and Yang Wan Tong were already seated and waiting. All of them looked a bit surprised to see Huang Cin Sen walk in alongside He Xiao Sing.
"Sorry to keep you waiting. Please, enjoy your meal."
He Xiao Sing and Huang Cin Sen set down the dishes before taking their own seats.
"She Di Huang, I didn't expect you to be so close with She Mei He."
Yang Wan Tong spoke coldly, glaring at Huang Cin Sen. He didn't like seeing the two of them together. The sight made him burn with jealousy, and his hatred toward Huang Cin Sen deepened.
"Please don't say that, She Siong Yang. I just wanted to help my junior sister."
Huang Cin Sen kept his tone humble, not wanting to cause conflict. He wanted to leave a good impression on He Xiao Sing.
"Don't talk while eating. I dislike it."
As soon as Ong Hai San spoke, everyone fell silent. No one dared to defy his words.
Dinner ended peacefully. Afterward, everyone returned to their rooms—except Li Xu Xian and He Xiao Sing, who stayed behind.
"Go back to your room, Father. I'll wash these dishes."
He Xiao Sing tried to send her father away. She wanted to pack some food to secretly bring to Mo Tien Wang.
"Xiao Sing, there's something I need to talk to you about—something I couldn't say while the others were here."
"What is it, Father?"
He Xiao Sing looked at him curiously. It was rare to see her father this serious.
"Xiao Sing, don't ever get close to Yang Wan Tong. Avoid him at all costs. That senior brother of yours harbors bad intentions toward you."
He Xiao Sing was shocked. Her father's warning matched exactly what Mo Tien Wang had told her earlier. Now she was even more curious why both men warned her about Yang Wan Tong.
"Father, why do you say that? What does She Siong Yang want from me?"
Li Xu Xian sighed deeply. Seeing his daughter's innocence, he decided to tell her the truth.
"Listen carefully, Xiao Sing. Yang Wan Tong wants to make you his wife. Even though I've already refused him, I fear he might try something against you. With your current strength, you wouldn't be able to fight him off. So please, stay away from him as much as possible. Do you understand?"
He Xiao Sing fell silent, disgusted by Yang Wan Tong's intentions. How shameless of him to want to marry someone the same age as his own child.
If she ever had to marry an older man, she thought, she would rather choose Mo Tien Wang than Yang Wan Tong.
