Li Xu Xian finally went to summon Yang Wan Tong as ordered by Ong Hai San. Not long after, he and Yang Wan Tong arrived before Ong Hai San.
He Xiao Sing looked at Yang Wan Tong with disgust. She hadn't expected him to dare report what had happened to Ong Hai San. Was he not afraid of being punished for his behavior?
"Elder Ong, I've come. Is there anything I can help you with, Elder Ong?"
Yang Wan Tong asked Ong Hai San with full respect. His attitude in front of Ong Hai San was completely different from before. All his arrogance had suddenly vanished somewhere.
"Yang Wan Tong, tell me again what happened. Also — did you try to harass Xiao Sing?"
Ong Hai San glanced at Yang Wan Tong and asked him to recount the events.
"That's not true, Elder Ong. I never harassed Sister He. In fact, it was Sister He who suddenly attacked me. Ong Hai San looked at He Xiao Sing and told her to relate the incident from her version.
He Xiao Sing felt nervous under Ong Hai San's sharp gaze. She tried to calm her racing heart before beginning to speak.
"Senior Brother Yang is lying, She Fu. I did refuse his company, but he insisted on following me. He even forced to touch me, which I refused. Cornered by him, I teleported away from the place, and after that I don't know what happened to him."
He Xiao Sing denied everything, following the plan taught by Mo Tien Wang. She had even hidden the earring under her clothes. Before she returned, she and Mo Tien Wang had arranged everything.
"She's lying, Elder Ong. If you don't believe me, you can check the earring she was wearing."
Yang Wan Tong countered in a flash. He wouldn't let He Xiao Sing pin this on him. Besides, when he allegedly tried to harass her, no one had seen it. He was sure Ong Hai San wouldn't punish him without clear evidence.
Ong Hai San looked from one to the other. He himself didn't know whom to believe. From what he'd heard, neither of them had clear proof. Yet Yang Wan Tong's words unsettled him more.
Before He Xiao Sing returned, Ong Hai San had checked Yang Wan Tong's wounds. From his examination he was certain Yang Wan Tong had been injured by someone highly skilled. If Ong Hai San hadn't helped him in time, Yang Wan Tong would have been dead now.
"Xiao Sing, come here. Let She Fu examine your earring."
He Xiao Sing was truly nervous now. She hadn't expected Ong Hai San to trust Yang Wan Tong more. Even though she had hidden the earring, she didn't know how to explain it to Ong Hai San.
"Uh… She Fu, my earring went missing when I teleported into the forest…"
He Xiao Sing tried to make an excuse to avoid it. She couldn't let Ong Hai San see the earring.
Ong Hai San studied He Xiao Sing's face with a probing look. He could see she was avoiding his gaze. The more he looked at her, the more he suspected she was hiding something.
"Xiao Sing, you'd better not lie to me. If you're found to be lying, She Fu will punish you severely."
He Xiao Sing felt intimidated when she heard Ong Hai San's threat. She sensed he was starting to suspect her. Still, she held her ground. She wouldn't admit to lying.
Seeing He Xiao Sing refuse to confess, Ong Hai San grew more curious. He then ordered Li Xu Xian to lock He Xiao Sing in the basement.
"Sorry, Elder Ong, but why do you trust Yang Wan Tong more? Besides, Xiao Sing losing an earring isn't strange — you know she's careless and often misplaces things. Elder Ong should trust Xiao Sing more than someone who just arrived here."
Li Xu Xian, dissatisfied with Ong Hai San's decision, immediately objected. He felt Ong Hai San had made the wrong choice. Clearly Yang Wan Tong had ill intentions toward He Xiao Sing, yet Ong Hai San was not defending her. Li Xu Xian simply could not accept this.
"I have my reasons. As a disciple of Kun Lun Sect, you have no right to argue with me. If you're dissatisfied, I will strip you of all your internal energy and expel you from Kun Lun Sect!"
He Xiao Sing was shocked to hear Ong Hai San speak so angrily. She had never seen him so enraged. She didn't want her father punished for defending her. So she immediately persuaded Li Xu Xian to obey Ong Hai San.
"Father, don't argue with She Fu's orders. I'm willing to be locked in the basement. Come on, Father, lock me up now."
"But Xiao Sing, you…!!"
Li Xu Xian still wanted to protest. But He Xiao Sing dragged him toward the basement. Seeing his daughter act this way, Li Xu Xian could only follow resignedly.
After they left, Ong Hai San turned his attention back to Yang Wan Tong. He stared at him with a threatening look.
"Yang Wan Tong, I can't punish you without strong evidence, but remember this: never harbor ill intentions toward Xiao Sing. If I see you do anything bad to her, I will personally kill you with my own hands!"
"Elder Ong, don't worry. I would never do anything bad to Sister He. I will treat her very well."
Having said that, Yang Wan Tong excused himself to return to his room. But instead of going back to his room, he hid outside and watched Ong Hai San. He wanted to see how Ong Hai San would punish He Xiao Sing.
