Chapter 2 - Chapter Two: The Spy's Play ground

A few days later, Yuki's phone buzzed.

"Yuki, you can come back to work," the boss said curtly.

She stared at the screen. Come back? She never wanted to. But for her plan... she had no choice.

Friday arrived, the quietest day of the week. Yuki and Jennie were perched like shadows in the streets, waiting for their target. Her boss walked out, expression blank, only giving terse orders, completely unaware of the chaos about to descend.

For three weeks, they had been planning, gathering clues, and watching. Yuki finally knew the day and time of the meeting—but not the exact place. That was where the real spy work came in.

Finally the day arrive when their plan was about to get executed.

Yuki peeked at the clock. "Alright... he's moving."

Jennie stretched. "You mean he's finally leaving? I was about to fall asleep just watching him leave.."

Yuki smirked, typing a quick message: "Go. Follow him. Don't get noticed."

Jennie rolled her eyes. "Copy that, Agent Y. Let's see if Mr. Serious-Boss can survive a day without noticing me."

Outside, Jennie whispered into her phone. "Okay... he just left. He's... walking super fast. Wait — did he just trip?"

Yuki giggled from inside. "Don't tell me! Did he fall?"

"Nope! Almost... and he barely caught himself. Smooth, sir."

A few minutes later, Yuki grabbed her bag. "Alright, my turn. Don't do anything crazy while I'm on my way."

"Me? Crazy? Never," Jennie said, smirking.

As they trailed him, Yuki whispered, "Okay, shave first. Quick... hope he doesn't see us."

Jennie leaned forward. "Shave? Who even shaves that fast?"

"He's special," Yuki muttered. "And now... shirt shopping. I swear, this guy's life is like a sitcom."

Jennie groaned. "A very boring sitcom."

Yuki laughed softly. "Boring? He just almost knocked over a mannequin. That's classic."

Jennie whispered, "Oh no... he's running after it!"

"He caught it! Barely. Drama queen confirmed," Yuki said, grinning.

Finally, he heads home for a few minutes. "Okay, next stop... the drinking place," Yuki said, eyes sparkling.

Jennie nudged her. "This is basically a treasure hunt, huh? Minus the treasure... except the chaos?"

"Exactly," Yuki said. "And we're about to get the prize."

While they were sneakily following him.

Yuki blinked. "Wait... is he... going inside his house?!"

Jennie groaned dramatically. "Seriously? RIGHT NOW?!"

Yuki threw her hands up. "All this sneaking for... domestic life?!"

Jennie kicked the air. "Adventure ruined! Curse you, boring adulting!"

Yuki muttered, "I swear, if he just sits there, I'm punching a wall. Or him."

They both stood frozen, muttering random nonsense:

"Mission failed... by home ownership!" "We were THIS close!" "Chaos, where are you?!"

Finally, Yuki peeked around the corner. "Okay... he's moving again. Drinks, chaos — the real prize is still on."

Jennie smirked. "Finally. Let's go get it."

Finally, the boss left his house and started heading toward the drinking place. Yuki's eyes sparkled.

"Alright... now," she whispered to Jennie, pulling out her phone. "Text the team. Time to move."

Jennie smirked, typing fast. "They're ready. Let's goooo!"

Back at Yuki and Jennie's apartment, the team — Yumi, Momo, Jihyo, and Minjae — were waiting, dressed exactly as planned. Hair done, makeup perfect, outfits carefully chosen to blend in but still look sharp. Phones in hand, adrenaline pumping, they stared at the text notification.

Yumi grinned. "Finally. The signal!"

Momo clapped her hands. "Let's move. Chaos awaits."

Jihyo adjusted her jacket. "Side room positions, remember. Eyes on the target, invisible style."

Minjae groaned. "Invisible style? I'm already sweating. This is insane."

Yuki's text popped up again: "Boss is drinking. Come now. Game on."

With a shared nod, the team grabbed their things and slipped out the door, excitement and nerves buzzing.

The boss excused himself to the washroom.

Momo whispered to Jihyo, grinning: "Alright... cue chaos. Let's see how many blushes we can get today."

Jihyo laughed quietly. "I call dibs on arm-holding. He looks like he might topple any second."

The boss came out, swaying slightly. Momo 'accidentally' bumped into him. "Oh! Mr. Boss... dizzy? Or just trying to look mysterious?"

Jihyo leaned on his other arm, mock-innocent. "Yeah, careful! Wouldn't want you to... fall for me instead of following orders."

The boss blinked. "I... I'm fine..."

Momo gasped dramatically. "Oh, you're so fine, you're practically glowing. Come with us, silly. We have... fun stuff."

Jihyo winked. "Fun and harmless. Promise. Totally."

He tried to step back. Momo grabbed his arm lightly. "Nope. You're mine... I mean, come on. Follow the fun route."

Jihyo brushed her fingers along his sleeve. "Yes, yes. It's like... a school field trip, but with... drinks. And games. Totally normal."

The boss stumbled along, muttering, "I don't know why I'm doing this..."

Momo laughed. "Because, dear sir, it's inevitable. Resistance is futile."

Jihyo added, mock-innocent: "Also, you look ridiculously cute when you wobble. Just saying."

They guided him into the hidden side room. Yuki sat at another table, huge glasses hiding her face, pretending to scroll her phone. She peeked occasionally.

Drinks were poured. The lie detector sat on the table, looking ridiculous. Momo and Jihyo kept him chatting, laughing, and squirming.

Momo whispered to Jihyo, "Step one: make him talk. Step two: make him blush. Step three: pretend this is a harmless experiment."

Jihyo giggled. "Step four: take notes for blackmail later."

The boss, completely oblivious, started spilling strategies, timing, everything.

Yuki grinned behind her glasses. "Oh yes... chaos achieved."

Momo grinned as she topped it up. "One more for the brave researcher," she cooed.

Jihyo added, "Yeah, it's for science. Very serious—heart-rate science."

Minjae, crouched under the table with the lie-detector and phone, whispered, "I'm recording. Keep him talking. Film faces, too—proof, proof, proof."

Jennie pretended to check her makeup but aimed her phone so the camera caught everything.

Momo laughed, pressing the drink into his hand. "Drink up. This is a friendly study—measuring how courageous bosses react under social pressure. Very academic."

The boss blinked, swayed, and laughed. "Ha—study, huh? I'm a natural subject."

Jihyo tilted her head, batting her lashes. "Exactly. Different ages, different situations, different... heart rates. We need a lot of data."

Momo leaned in conspiratorially. "Yeah—for science class. Very official. We're making a documentary."

Yuki, behind her giant sunglasses, watched the whole thing like a proud director. She mouthed, "Keep him loose." Jennie mouthed back, "Recording."

They asked him harmless questions at first—favorite color, embarrassing childhood story—then graduated to shop secrets. Every time he hesitated, Momo refilled his glass with theatrical care. Every time he slurred a little, Minjae's phone beeped: recording saved.

"Smile for the 'experiment'," Jennie whispered, snapping a short video. "If anyone asks, we're psychology students doing a field study."

"And if anyone says it looks weird?" Momo said, already theatrical. "We'll say it's part of measuring stress responses to spontaneous flirting."

They all giggled. The boss, half-laughing, half-confused, kept talking. He started naming tactics, times, people. He even mimed how they baited customers. The team stayed dangerously calm, filming every slip.

Outside the side room, muffled voices shifted. Someone asked, "Where's he gone off to?" Another voice: "He's been gone too long—go check." Footsteps. A phone call. The tone dropped: "This looks weird."

One of the boss's friends wandered toward the room, suspicious. Minjae hissed, "Heads up! They're coming."

Momo plastered on her Most Innocent Face and waved a hand. "Oh! If anyone asks—it's a little study. Heart-rate measuring across different people, different ages, different situations. Very official."

Jihyo chimed in, sweet as syrup: "Yeah, like a social experiment. Totally harmless. You can watch the footage later!"

The friend peered in, frowned, then stepped back uncertainly. He pulled out his phone. "I'm calling—"

Momo's smile never wavered. "Call whoever you want. We'll be right here—just collecting data."

They kept filming, kept asking, kept pouring. The boss, now happily loquacious, gave them everything they needed—until someone outside decided it looked too real.

Yuki waited, sunglasses hiding her eyes, pretending to scroll through her phone. She heard one of the boss's friends whispering near the side door.

Jennie nudged her. "Uh... what's he doing?"

Yuki smirked. "Patience. Just a few more minutes... I need all the info first."

Sure enough, in five tense minutes, Minjae and the team had recorded everything they needed. Yuki tapped furiously on her phone: "Let's go. Some of them called the police. Station's nearby."

The team jumped up, grabbing the lie detector.

"Move, move!" Momo hissed, nearly tripping over her own heels.

Just as they were about to make their exit, two of the boss's friends stepped in front of the door, blocking them.

Jihyo groaned. "Seriously? Now?!"

Momo shoved a shoulder. "Out of my way, science emergency!"

They ducked, twisted, and somehow managed to slip past, tumbling into the cab waiting outside.

"Go! Go! Go!" Yuki shouted.

The cab screeched off, but traffic had other plans. Both their car and the police's vehicles got stuck in a jam.

Jennie groaned, "Of course... of course there's traffic now!"

Luckily, everyone had chosen the right shoes and sandals—they could actually run. Yuki shot a glance at the cab driver.

"Here's some cash. Just... pull aside and wait!"

The cab lurched to the side, and they all jumped out, running like their lives depended on it. The police were right behind them.

Minjae, dragging the heavy lie detector, was already panting. "YAHHH, Yuki! How could you make us do this? I... I can'ttt go to jail! You were supposed to watch this, and you're late!"

Momo tripped over a curb, laughing hysterically. "Late? We're in the middle of a scientific emergency, idiot!"

Jihyo swerved around a street lamp. "Yeah, five minutes late and suddenly we're starring in a cop chase!"

Yuki led the charge, grinning. "Guys... focus! We're five minutes away from the main part! The glory! The prize!"

Minjae gasped, clutching the lie detector. "And now... now we're five minutes away from death! I hate you, Yuki!"

Jennie yelled from behind, dodging a puddle. "I can't even! This is insane!"

They zigzagged through alleys, hopped over fences, and screamed nonsense as they ran.

Yuki laughed, adrenaline pumping. "YAHHH! The formula can make me rich! And when I get rich, you guys get rich too!"

Momo panted, trying to catch her breath. "We areliterally hearing that from school... chaos class, apparently!"

Jihyo yelled over her shoulder, "Next experiment: surviving cops while carrying a heavy lie detector. Nailed it!"

Minjae groaned. "I am not built for this! My legs are gonna sue me later!"

Yuki, still in the lead, smirked behind her sunglasses. "Shut up and run! Riches await, chaos awaits, and glory is five minutes ahead!"

They ran their asses off, hearts pounding, screaming, laughing... completely alive in the middle of the wildest school-gang-chase night ever.

Would they be able to escape or end up in jail ?
