"Maya Brie..." Jamie muttered to himself as he tried to recall where he had heard that name in the past.
Despite being certain that this name was somewhere hidden in his memories, he could not recollect when and where he must have heard it.
Therefore, he chose to set this thought aside for now and instead focused on the conversation that continued.
"Well, we also added a few more searches about your return to the country. Not that it needed any more of them~" Peony chuckled when she thought of being in the same city as her favorite artists.
Deja Vu had gone on an international tour and had been away from the country for over half a year now.
They had performed live concerts in various countries and numerous cities thanks to their large fanbase.
It was only last week that their tour had ended and the band had been on vacation ever since.
If it had not been for a high-profile award ceremony that was organized for artists throughout their country, Deja Vu would have continued their vacation longer.
Being their manager, Demi knew that staying relevant in their country was just as important as being popular overseas.
Not to mention that the band had been nominated in a few award categories and fans were excited to see if their favorite artists would be present at the award ceremony.
Knowing what the fans wanted, Demi instructed the group of five men to be prepared to head back to their homeland.
They had flown back into the country the day before the ceremony and after resting well, they had attended the award ceremony with Demi accompanying them.
Thanks to their sudden but much-anticipated appearance, the band members were able to personally accept the various awards that they had won the previous night.
It was after this award ceremony that one of the band members had proposed going out for a drink and Demi had even offered to pay the bill as a reward for their hard work.
However, their night had been ruined thanks to the abrupt arrival of a certain someone whose name they now knew.
"Thanks for your hard work, P!" Demi expressed her gratitude with a smile though the other person could not see it through the phone.
"Anytime! Plus, your brother gives me a bonus each time I help you out~" Peony replied with a playful chuckle as she thought of the extra zeroes that had landed in her account after she finished her task last night.
Thinking of the increase in her bank balance, she felt her irritation for working overtime wash away and hoped for more opportunities to earn this extra bonus.
"Oh and did you know that I wasn't the only one who was trying to remove you from the trending search last night?" She added, though she knew that the other person wasn't aware of this in the least bit.
"Really?" Demi answered, wondering who else wished to take down her name from the trending lists.
"Yep, six people, including me, had gotten involved last night." She revealed the information she had heard from her sources in the media outlets.
Peony did not work for Demi but her involvement in this matter was on behalf of her boss, Demi's elder brother.
However, there were many others who had taken it upon themselves to resolve this issue before it escalated.
"You're quite the popular one, Miss Demi~" She sighed at the thought of being protected by six individuals who wanted her to be far away from negative press.
This time, it was Demi's turn to sigh as she had already guessed who a few of those individuals might be.
Having relayed everything she knew, Peony bid farewell and hung up as she had to get to work soon.
Sitting in silence after the phone call ended, Jamie glanced at his best friend as too tried to guess just who those six individuals were.
"Both of your brothers and your dad were surely involved!" He announced as he began counting on his fingers to see how many names he could come up with.
"Your brother as well." Demi added Jamie's elder brother to this list and saw him hold up another finger.
"Uncle Sig" Jamie brought up another name and Demi nodded without challenging his words.
"He follows all the news about us." She was sure that if he saw negative comments about her, he would not hesitate to have them taken down.
"But who is the last one?" She muttered to herself as they had come up with five names they were sure about.
According to Peony, six individuals had taken action last night for her sake so they were still missing one name.
"It cannot be your mother." Jamie pointed out and shrugged when he saw her rolling her eyes.
He was aware of the complicated relationship she had with her mother so he knew that the older woman would not get involved.
"Neither would your dad get involved." She shot back and saw him shrug as well.
After all, his dad wasn't his biggest supporter when he had decided to step into the music industry rather than joining the family business.
Therefore, he did not mind when Demi pointed it out that his father would also not be lending his support in this matter.
His mother, though supportive of his career choices, was not too tech savvy and did not surf the internet much, especially so late at night.
Therefore, by default, her name was struck off the list of individuals that could have been involved.
The two then sat in silence while thinking of different individuals who could have helped them out but even after a while, they could not reach a conclusion on who it could have been.
Jamie kept staring at his fingers, wondering just who the last person could be when a sudden yet strange thought struck his mind.
"I can think of one person that might have gotten involved..." He whispered while lifting his gaze towards Demi who was watching him with curiosity evident in her eyes.
"Then spit it out!" She rushed him, eager to know who the mystery person was.
Without answering her, he turned his eyes towards her hand, specifically on that sparkling emerald ring on her finger.
"I think he could have..." He started in a doubtful tone but seeing her frown, stopped his sentence midway.
"Yea, right!" Demi scoffed and found it laughable that he had even thought of suggesting that man's name.
"You really think he would go out of his way to keep an eye on my news?" She shook her head as she knew for sure that he was not one of the six individuals.
If he had seen the trending searches, wouldn't he have the news about Maya Brie, the new actress, be taken down first before even bothering to look at hers?
After all, the protagonist of the trending search Peony used as a diversion was none other than the woman who had barged into their private room last night, Maya Brie, the woman close to her so-called fiance.
'I'm not so sure though...' He retorted doubtfully to himself but did not try to explain why he had thought of her fiance after noticing the mocking look on her face.
