Chapter 44 - "The Voice Of God"

Elite Guard Rank 2's attempt to hide his fear faltered as a cold dread crept through him. This was no ordinary opponent, and the storm above promised devastation beyond anything he had faced.

Siegfreed was roughly 500 meters away, but in a quick effort, Elite Guard Rank 2 hurled a spear straight at him to kill him.

Siegfreed felt it instantly.

They were going to die.

They didn't control the distance properly. He wasn't experienced enough.

The air split.

Not metaphorically. It actually split. The pressure carved a path through the sky as the spear screamed toward him, fast enough that his body couldn't even react, only his mind.

This is it.

He saw it.

The angle. The precision. The intent.

A perfect throw.

He didn't even have time to brace.

Then—

Liam.

Liam, however, miraculously appeared, blocking the attack with a powerful kick.

The impact detonated through the air. The giant spear shattered on contact, splintering apart as if it had struck something immovable. His eyes were bloodshot red with determination. Liam held his chopped-off hand tightly in place.

"Nobody told me Parasite was capable of doing this," Two muttered under his breath, eyes wide with disbelief.

His expression hardened, irritation creeping in.

I'm 100% sure I killed them on the first blow.

A spear through the left side of the chest. Straight through the heart.

I don't play games when I fight.

He narrowed his eyes slightly.

Could it be…

There are rare cases, extremely rare, where a person is born with their heart on the right side instead of the left. The condition is called dextrocardia. It happens in less than one percent of people, sometimes far less depending on the variation. Most people never encounter it.

Two exhaled through his nose, annoyed.

So that's what this is? Pure fucking luck? Now thats something scarier than combat ability.

Regardless there operating on 1 lung. Whateve-

By the time they finished talking Liam had already closed back the distance.

Liam's adrenaline spiked, They swapped blows.

Siegfreed fell back even further, knowing to stay as far away as possible, riding a deer deeper into the forest.

Now that he was done with the lieutenants, effectively catching them off guard, by playing dead. Now to help Liam, Siegfreed moved 80% of his Pestilence toward Elite Guard Rank 2 instead.

"ARRGHTHTHTHTHHHHHH," a lieutenant yelled. Travis was fucked up bad.

His clothes were torn off. His skin was covered in hundreds of bites, swollen purple and red. There were so many insects that they had literally lifted him off the ground.

Hundreds of meters into the air. He didn't know what to do.
