Chapter 98 - Brawl

Led by an old non-commissioned officer of the Ultramarines, the Custodian Guard, Zeke, Archmagos Cawl and some Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii/Cult Guard, and the Emperor's Living Saint, among others, all walked into the Ultramarines' Chapter monastery.

It could only be said that the composition of this force was truly complex, a real hodgepodge of everything imaginable.

The current Lord of Ultramar, Marneus Calgar, personally came to meet them.

There was no other way; the Custodian Guard had arrived. Not coming out to meet them personally would be a blatant disrespect to the Emperor.

Beside him were Captain Agemman of the First Company, Chief Librarian Tigurius, and Grand Master Voldus of the Grey knights, who had come to reinforce Macragge.

The Grey knights had also arrived due to the foresight of Psykers.

However, what they faced was the same as what the Ultramarines faced.

After arriving, they did not encounter any enemy attacks; instead, they remained in a state of readiness, and there was no trace of chaos forces.

This left the Grey knights very puzzled.

Since the Custodian Guard had just arrived, they simply followed the Ultramarines' Chapter Master to see what the Custodian Guard were here for.

Although Zeke only brought 500 Custodian Guard to avoid provoking the Ultramarines, the scale of 500 Custodian Guard was still considerable.

For the Grey knights, they had never seen such a large deployment of 500 Custodian Guard in the past.

Since the Emperor ascended the golden throne, the Custodian Guard had never deployed such a large force.

Both sides exchanged simple greetings, especially the Ultramarines' greetings to the Custodian Guard, as such a large force of Custodian Guard surely indicated important matters.

However, it was clear that the Custodian Guard did not state their purpose, instead yielding the floor to Cawl, who had been waiting on the side.

Their Emperor had come to rescue The 13th Primarch, as a repayment for the Emperor's every helping hand.

But before that, Cawl should fulfill his promise first, as he had persevered for 10,000 years for this very promise.

Such a loyal individual must be allowed to realize the promise he made.

This was a reward for Cawl's unwavering loyalty.

Cawl's massive mechanical body emitted a low hum, and he slowly stepped forward, his mechanical tendrils tracing complex patterns in the air.

When his vocalizer activated, the entire hall's acoustic panels resonated with the frequency of his voice.

"I am here to fulfill the promise I made with the Lord of Macragge."

Upon hearing this, Calgar paused, then quickly recovered and spoke.

"I have not made any promise with the Archmagos. Perhaps you are mistaken."

"Not with you. The one who made a promise with me is the true master of Macragge, The 13th Primarch, Guilliman."

"This is a promise he and I made 10,000 years ago. At that time, he had already foreseen the possibility of his own death, so he made a promise with me then, vowing that I must save him. Now I have manufactured this device, and I can revive him."

Cawl's words shocked all the surrounding Ultramarines. They had not imagined that their gene-father could one day return to their Chapters.

If their gene-father could return to their Chapters, to the Ultramarines Chapters, what a magnificent sight that would be!

And Living Saint Celestine also nodded, indicating that she too had come for this very reason.

This was the Emperor's decree. Just as the atmosphere between the two sides became harmonious, a flash of light suddenly appeared before everyone, followed by a group of long-eared beings appearing within the Ultramarines' Chapter monastery.

These were the Eldar's Death Jesters.

Their appearance undoubtedly enraged these Ultramarines, and at the same time, angered the Custodian Guard who were performing defensive duties here.

Before the Ultramarines could even act, the Custodian Guard warriors responsible for security had already moved, powerful psychic energy locking down the Chapter monastery.

Immediately after, several power lances were aimed at the heads of these Death Jester eldar. If they made the slightest move, they would be minced into pieces.

"Xenos! Who gave you the courage to appear before us, to appear here? This is a provocation to humanity! Do you want to die !?"

Facing the Custodian Guard's interrogation, these eldar initially wanted to explain, but they were unable to speak.

Because the Custodian Guard's powerful psychic energy had locked down the entire Chapter monastery, rendering them unable to utter a word.

At this moment, Zeke waved his hand, signaling the Custodian Guard to lower their weapons and retreat.

Guilliman's wife had arrived. No matter what, this was considered a pair.

Zeke had no intention of breaking up a couple. Since Guilliman's wife had arrived, he would let her off the hook for now.

The Custodian Guard saw their Emperor's gesture. They lowered their weapons and retreated behind Zeke, and this scene shocked the Ultramarines and eldar soldiers present.

They couldn't believe that the Custodian Guard actually obeyed the command of a single human and directly retreated behind him. It was simply too astonishing.

"I know what you eldar are here for. Go back and tell your Farseer, this is the first and last time. Do not appear before me casually, otherwise—"

Zeke's words were not fully spoken. Then he waved his hand, and these eldar returned to where they came from.

Such a shocking display left everyone dumbfounded. What powerful psychic energy! And why would the Custodian Guard obey this person's command?

All these questions revolved around these Ultramarines.

With Zeke's interruption, these Ultramarines also chose to believe Cawl, after all, there was a person who could command the Custodian Guard present.

With such an individual here, then Cawl still had credibility.

Calgar and his Chief Librarian exchanged glances before making a decision. They chose to lead Cawl and his group to the location of their gene-father's stasis field.

When everyone saw the blue giant encased within the stasis field, all were filled with shock.

And Cawl was preparing to step forward and use his Archmagos's Aegis to save The 13th Primarch, who had suffered severe injuries.

Everything went smoothly, so smoothly that Cawl seemed somewhat disbelieving, or rather, it exceeded everyone's expectations.

It seemed the Imperium's The 13th Primarch was about to return.

And now there were no longer any obstacles.

Just as Cawl was about to place the Archmagos's Aegis on Roboute Guilliman, a huge crashing sound echoed in everyone's ears.

A large number of drop pods appeared above Macragge. These were a massive force of chaos Space Marines.

Over 2,000 chaos Space Marines were dropping onto this planet.

In addition, Zeke noticed a peculiar and familiar combination of purple and blue colors appearing in this universe, and some very strange and familiar demons appeared.

Two transparent ethereal warships appeared before Zeke's fleet.

The Lesser Blue Demons, the Realm Breakers, had arrived—
