Year 848
—Day 1—
The instructor, Kieth Shadis was standing on a platform on a tree, quietly observing the trainees who are now capable of navigating through the forest with the Vertical Maneuver, he stands patiently while going through all the trainee's profiles and listing their strengths and weaknesses based on their all over grades in every subjects.
He watched as several trainees passed by him, he's gone over pretty much all the trainees except two people. He waited for them to pass by, it didn't take long until two young ladies passed by and cleanly sliced the nape of the fake titan in one go. There he recognized the two and pulled up their profiles.
Shallie Elz, shows to be the most knowledgeable in every subjects in overall history of the training corps. One of the most skilled students this year but tends to randomly zone out that could affect her performance.
Hoshino, although she gets easily controlled by her emotions, she shows great potential. The same level as Mikasa Ackerman, considered as one of the best in history, she might just be able to reach his brother's level in no time.
Kieth watched Hoshino as she flew away with Shallie "You've grown to be as reliable as your brother."
Year 850
—Day 1—
Graduation quickly came, Hoshino's relationship between her classmates has improved over time, she came second in the top 10 of their class with Mikasa being top 1 as always. She figured it was her emotions that held her back, she also had accepted Bertholdt's love confession a year before their graduation, Reiner and the others always teased him whenever Hoshino isn't around.
On the day of the expedition of the Scout Regiments after a long preparation within the walls, Hoshino went sprinting just to see her brother in a parade. She had Bertholdt with her who carried her on his back so she could see the parade, she scanned through all the people and there she saw her brother at the front.
"There he is!" She exclaimed in pure excitement making Bertholdt smile "LEVI! KILL THE TITANS FOR US!" She shouted which earned a look from Levi along with Shiyo and the group leader laughing while patting his back.
"I still can't believe that your brother is the Humanity's Strongest Soldier." He told his girlfriend as he gently put her down on the ground before looking at the skies.
She chuckled at his sentence "Well, things happen." She said as she looked up at him who was looking at the skies, he then turned his look at her and placed a hand on her cheeks, gently kissing her forehead. This caught the girl off guard "Hey! What's with the sudden–!" Her words then got cut off as Bertholdt suddenly pressed his lips against hers, kissing her passionately.
It was a second before he pulled away "I'm going somewhere for a bit, okay?" He then said before running away from the dumbfounded girl.
"HA?!"

Hoshino went above walls to go and help Connie and the others who were working on the cannons but as she got there, she saw almost all of them slacking off. Connie was the only one doing the work.
Hoshino sighed as she walked towards them "Are you guys really gonna make Connie do all the work?" She asked, her gaze drifting towards Shallie and Eren, chatting with each other in the corner. She could faintly hear them talking about the disappearances of some villagers, mostly are teenage girls.
Shallie has gotten more closer to her classmates than most of this year's trainees, this shows how excellent she is at gaining people's trust just by talking with them. And apparently she has been a lot closer to a certain person, Eren Yeager.
"Eren's collecting girls huh? First Mikasa and now Shallie?" Connie stated as he stood beside Hoshino, the girl promptly looked at him "Well, at least you're not one of them, Bertholdt's got you." He laughed while on the other hand, Hoshino wasn't having it.
She looked at Connie with one eye, the other one getting covered by her bangs "What makes you think girls are something to be collected?..." She asked him with that menacing stare.
Sweat dropped down on the poor boy's head as he gulped "Well, no... I just thought..." He stuttered, holding a scared face at the girl before him.
"COME ON ANSWER ME, SHITTY BALDHEAD!" She snapped as she managed to lift the boy up with his collar and shook him repeatedly, making the poor boy cry for help.
That's where it felt like everything was in slow motion, they all saw the same lighting struck just in front of their eyes and there the Colossal Titan appeared in a blink of an eye.
Hoshino widened her eyes in terror, but managed to regain composure as she remembered that her and all of her friends are in danger. She turned her look at Connie who was now frozen, stunned by the huge titan in front of him. She let out a 'tch' before grabbing him and ran away, she then looked back at the titan and saw Eren charging at it while Shallie watched him, she looked unfazed about the titan at all.
That's how good she can keep her composure.
"Jump down! He's going to wipe the cannons off the walls, you'll get caught!" She then shouted as she ran towards the two.
Hoshino looked at the titan and Shallie was right, it was seconds before the titan suddenly went after the fixed cannons, destroying them "Hang on tight, Connie!" Hoshino shouted as she wrapped her arm around his waist and jumped off the wall, she shot her Vertical Maneuver at the wall and stayed there, hanging with the blonde girl by her side "How did you know it was after the cannons?" The black haired girl asked.
"Logical reasoning, he had his eyes fixed on the cannons right after he appeared. He also went after the gate while doing it." The blonde responded.
Not only she can control her emotions with ease, she's also pretty observant also. But what confused Hoshino was the way she called the titan 'he'
