They store their weapons in a kind of other dimension, like a crack that can open anywhere: on the floor, on the wall, or even in the middle of nowhere.
"Seal Release!"
Nobaru spoke, and a gigantic battle axe emerged from the rift, materializing in her hand.
She stomped her foot on the ground, tearing the earth, gained momentum, and sliced the dragon from bottom to top. The monster collapsed, dead before it hit the ground.
" Wow, what a weak dragon."
"I thought you would entertain me a little more. I see you can barely channel your energy, very similar to your father."
Nobaru provoked, putting the axe away.
The mention of his father was the trigger.
"SHUT YOUR MOUTH!"
Yoshi's voice tore through the air, choked and full of humiliation. His fists trembled uncontrollably.
" Everyone keeps comparing me to him! No one chooses who they are born to! I am not to blame for my father's crime, but you... YOU BLAME ME AS IF I COMMITTED IT!"
The accumulated frustration, anger, and pain exploded. Everything around them shook, and the light drastically diminished, swallowed by a dense darkness.
"Wow, what darkness!"
Fukuoka exclaimed.
Nobaru, however, smiled, the wildest smile Yoshi had ever seen.
"(Giggles). Show your power, you depressed piece of trash!"
Nobaru burst into laughter, a sound that grated on the ears.
Suddenly, the dark mist intensified. Yoshi moved with a speed she did not expect.
Nobaru felt the cold shock of metal: a black katana emerged from the darkness and pierced her abdomen. The metal tore through vital organs.
Blood gushed from her mouth, but instead of pain, her eyes widened in maniacal delight.
" HA HA HA HA!"
She spat out blood with the laughter, her body staggering in a dance of death and ecstasy.
"Show who you really are!"
Yoshi used the black mist to teleport and attack, the mist being a form of poison that burned the skin. He vanished and reappeared.
Nobaru was left with several deep holes and cuts, bleeding profusely, but she laughed insanely, her gaze fixed on the combat.
"Great! Keep going! Show who you are, you depressed trash!"
She shouted, her voice thick with blood and pleasure.
"What?"
Zaren asked, terrified.
"She healed herself!"
Fukuoka pointed, incredulously.
Nobaru's wounds were closing in real time. She looked down, sensing the vibrations.
" No, no, no... I found you!"
She said, and the fight resumed, with weapons clashing in a shower of sparks.
" Did you really think you were going to kill me?"
Nobaru asked, forcing her axe against Yoshi's.
" Are you crazy?" Yoshi questioned, gasping.
Nobaru tilted her head, her eyes fixed on his, with a wicked sweetness.
" What an ugly question to ask a lady."
She laughed, the madness glinting again.
" Some women find pleasure in love, in touch. Me? I find pleasure when Death dances beside me, trying to take me. Your blood is my most expensive wine. Every drop I see gush is an adrenaline rush that lasts an eternity!"
" You scare me more than my father,"
Yoshi whispered.
" Enough of this game,"
she said, and her tone turned cold.
She delivered a devastating energy kick. He fell to the ground, his body lacerated and bleeding, while she was already perfectly healed.
Nobaru approached, looking down at him.
" Our fight was interesting, and I admit: you have a future."
Yoshi's body stopped moving.
Fukuoka ran to them, his face wet with tears and terror.
" Sensei, you killed him! No... We haven't even been friends for a day!"
Nobaru faced him coldly, the madness replaced by a terrifying seriousness.
"Silence. I'm going to teach you a valuable lesson today, Fukuoka."
She paused dramatically, forcing the boy to look at her.
" Learn: No one truly dies. The body is just a shell for your soul. His body may not be moving, but he is not dead. This spell I am about to use, you might even learn, but it will take decades to master."
" Seal Release,"
Nobaru spoke. Her old wounds and the holes in her clothes began to heal and disappear in a golden glow.
" Wake up, Yoshi,"
Nobaru said, lightly tapping his face.
"Wow, Sensei Nobaru, you are God!"
Fukuoka said, stunned and relieved.
Nobaru punched Fukuoka on the head.
" Shut up, I'm not God!"
Nobaru said.
"His soul is still here; you just have to help it return to the body. Your soul... in who you are."
