Cindy raised the binoculars to her eyes, scanning the horizon. "I wonder when those special agents will arrive," she murmured.
Isabel shook her head, worry shadowing her features. "I'm more concerned that Sumiko might be looking for us."
Na-rin placed a reassuring hand on Isabel's shoulder. "It's okay. Elaine and others won't leave her be."
Natasha's gaze turned to Jaxon. "Take a rest first, Jaxon, you didn't get any sleep last night."
Jaxon nodded, letting himself sink back against the car. He closed his eyes, allowing the faint breeze to brush over him.
Half a day later, Jaxon's eyes suddenly snapped open. His ears had picked up a faint, almost distant whirring sound.
Natasha noticed him rising. "What is it?" she asked, her hand resting on her pistol instinctively.
Jaxon's gaze sharpened toward the east. "The chopper… it's here."
The group moved quickly, checking their gear and readying themselves. Once it landed, they'd have to move toward the city as planned.
