Viona's POV
"Would you like to exchange a box with me then, Viona?" a soft, melodious voice suddenly said, making everyone turn.
And there, walking over from the gazebo where my children were, was the very last person I wanted to see today.
"Oh honey… since when did you arrive? You said you couldn't come." Mrs. Stone, who had been frowning earlier, suddenly beamed when Evelyn approached us.
Wait… Stone… Evelyn Stone?
"Mother, my appointment with a patient finished earlier than expected, so I decided to come here. I'm sorry for being late," she said gently.
I scoffed inwardly but forced my smile to remain soft as I realized something.
No wonder Mrs. Stone had been so hostile toward me.
Wait… what exactly was the problem between her daughter and me?
I hated how the bad feeling after a good one always lasted longer, and somehow it was always right.
