Rafael's POV
Once the two Delano executioners walked out of the restroom, I slipped out as well and hurried down the corridor. I was almost running when I spotted Polo and his teammate in the hospital hall where food was being handed out. I weaved through the crowd with long strides until I reached them.
I grabbed Polo by the arm and pulled him into a quieter corner.
His eyes widened in confusion.
"Sir, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you..."
"Polo, listen." I cut him off. "They'll catch me the second I step into the command post. I still need to talk to my right-hand man. I need you to distract them. Better yet, knock them out if you can, so I can get inside the command post and call home. Understand?"
The confusion vanished from Polo's face. His eyes turned firm, resolute. He gave me a sharp nod. He understood exactly what I meant.
Without wasting another second, the three of us hurried toward the military command post.
