Xu Mu didn't go in right away — instead, he told Meng Wanyue to keep driving east.
After passing a single traffic light, they reached the outskirts of Yang City.
At this hour, there was almost no one around.
A perfect place for an ambush.
Checking the time, Xu Mu saw it was about right, so he told Meng Wanyue to head back.
At the parking lot of Imperial Feast Pavilion, Xu Mu spread his senses and scanned the building.
The place had seven floors. The first two were restaurants, the third offered foot baths and massages, the fourth through sixth were hotel rooms, and the seventh — that was something else entirely.
The seventh floor was a full imperial suite, with a single massive unit designed like a private villa.
A grand dining table, a KTV lounge, an indoor pool, a fitness area, and private bedrooms — all in one level.
At the moment, Chen Cai and Feng Jian were on that top floor.
Once Meng Wanyue parked, Xu Mu got out with her, and they walked toward the entrance.
As soon as they entered, a young woman in uniform approached.
"Hello, are you Mr. Xu?"
"You know me?" Xu Mu asked calmly.
"Yes, our Director Chen already informed us. Please, follow me — she's waiting upstairs."
The young woman smiled politely.
Xu Mu nodded, following her into the elevator with Meng Wanyue.
When they reached the seventh floor, there was only one lavish set of double doors.
The woman turned to the two guards standing nearby. "Director Chen's guests have arrived."
With that, she left by elevator.
Xu Mu and Meng Wanyue walked up to the ornate doors.
One of the guards checked his phone, comparing Xu Mu's face to the photo before nodding to his partner.
They pushed the doors open — just a crack.
When Meng Wanyue tried to follow, one guard stopped her.
"Only Xu Mu may enter. Others are not permitted."
"She's not 'others.' She's my person — my woman," Xu Mu said evenly.
[Favorability +10]
Even though Meng Wanyue knew he only said it to get her inside, her heart still leapt at the words.
"Director Chen instructed us — you alone may enter," the guard insisted.
"Wasting my damn time," Xu Mu said coldly. "You'd think I came begging you for a favor."
He turned to Meng Wanyue. "Let's go."
The guards hesitated, one fumbling for his phone to message Chen Cai.
Just then, someone burst out from inside.
"Brother Xu! Come on in — why are you leaving?"
It was Feng Jian, who'd been pacing behind the doors. Hearing the commotion, he rushed out.
"Your people wouldn't let my person in," Xu Mu said, already pressing the elevator button.
"Damn it! Get out of the way — that's my sister-in-law!"
Feng Jian barked at the guards, then jogged over and grabbed Xu Mu's arm. "Brother Xu, please come in. My mom's been waiting for you."
Only then did Xu Mu nod with satisfaction.
Meng Wanyue felt uneasy — sister-in-law again, and now Xu Mu's woman too.
She couldn't help feeling embarrassed, as if she were wronging Ye Tong.
Following Feng Jian's lead, they entered the suite together.
From the sofa inside, Chen Cai looked up with a smile, setting down her phone. "Xu Mu, you're here?"
"Quite the grand gesture, Madam — inviting me to dine somewhere like this."
Xu Mu glanced around at the golden, extravagant décor — much like his own home. It wasn't his taste.
"And this young lady is…?"
Chen Cai's eyes turned toward Meng Wanyue.
Meng Wanyue recognized her instantly — the woman from today's video.
"She's my girlfriend," Xu Mu said casually.
"We're going to discuss something private. Perhaps she should step out first? I'll have her properly entertained elsewhere," Chen Cai suggested.
She didn't want a third party knowing about the video.
"I already said, she's my girlfriend." Xu Mu smiled faintly.
"Then how about this — I'll have my son step out too. Just the two of us — how about that?"
Chen Cai smiled back.
Xu Mu almost laughed. You really want your son to stay here? If he finds out his dear mother's affair with Dai Xiao, will he survive it?
"Alright, Wanyue, wait outside. I won't be long."
He had already sensed no one else nearby.
If Chen Cai wanted a private talk, he'd play along for now.
Meng Wanyue nodded. She'd just stay at the door — close enough to intervene.
"Mom, do I have to leave too—?"
"Out!" Chen Cai snapped coldly.
"…Okay."
Feng Jian ducked his head and left with Meng Wanyue.
The doors shut again, leaving only Xu Mu and Chen Cai.
Looking at her now — cold, composed — Xu Mu was reminded of how she'd acted earlier that day, when Dai Xiao saw Feng Kang.
Back then, she hadn't been cold at all.
"Xu Mu, sit," Chen Cai gestured from the sofa.
"So, this meeting — you've already got Feng Kang's blackmail material?" Xu Mu sat down, crossing one leg over the other.
"No," she said calmly. "I've investigated thoroughly. My husband has no black marks."
Feng Group controlled vast assets — if Feng Kang fell, the family's fortune would crumble.
And even if she did do it, who could guarantee Xu Mu would really delete the video?
"Then why invite me here?" Xu Mu asked.
"I can satisfy other conditions — just delete the footage."
Chen Cai's gaze sharpened. "Actually, I've been wondering — where exactly did you record that video?"
"I don't need to tell you that. All you need to know is, I have it." Xu Mu's tone stayed flat.
"You don't have a video."
Chen Cai suddenly let out a cold laugh.
"Oh? Are you saying what happened between you and Dai Xiao is fake?" Xu Mu lifted a brow.
She sneered. "Of course it's fake. If I'm right, all you have are a few close photos — nothing more."
She'd spent days thinking it over.
The first time she met and "cooperated" with Dai Xiao, it had been at his house.
After that, a few more times — same place.
Then a few encounters in his car. The rest were at the Feng family estate.
She'd already had the mansion thoroughly swept by professionals — no cameras anywhere.
As for Dai Xiao's house and car — even less likely.
Beyond that, she and Dai Xiao had never gone very far in public.
But Dai Xiao often flirted openly with her — playful, intimate gestures like a couple.
Maybe Xu Mu had gotten hold of a few such photos and drawn his own conclusions.
She hated herself for panicking, for admitting too much under his bluff.
He might not have had a video then — but he probably had a recording from that day in his car.
If Feng Kang ever heard it, she was done for.
"Madam, if you say there's nothing, then there's nothing," Xu Mu said with a shrug. "If that's all, I'll be going."
"There's more."
Chen Cai's lips curved slightly. "I didn't invite you here just for that."
