Chapter 131 - Tang San’s Grand Double Standard

At that moment, Ma Hongjun—who had been scanning the restaurant for pretty women nonstop—finally spotted Zhu Zhuqing. His tiny eyes instantly lit up with excitement. He slapped Dai Mubai's arm and whispered urgently, "Boss Dai, Boss Dai—look! Nine o'clock! A beauty!"

Dai Mubai's eyes brightened. Turning to look, he nearly drooled when he saw Zhu Zhuqing's explosive figure that completely defied her age. Without hesitation, he pointed and said, "Isn't there an empty table right over there?"

"Right, right! Let's sit there!"

The brothel-addicted phoenix, Ma Hongjun, instantly echoed.

When it came to beautiful women, he was always eager. Sure, Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong were also cute—but Xiao Wu already had an owner, and Ning Rongrong was the heir of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. He couldn't afford to offend either.

So naturally, his eyes drifted to women outside the academy.

"This… doesn't seem right. They're just minding their own business, not bothering us."

Tang San hesitated. Something about that black-robed boy gave him a sense of danger he couldn't fully explain.

"Who cares? Shrek Academy's motto is: 'If you don't dare cause trouble, you're mediocre.' We're not ordinary—we're monsters. What's there to be afraid of?"

Dai Mubai strutted forward confidently.

From his perspective, Xiao Se didn't release even a hint of spirit power—how strong could he be?

That cold-looking girl beside him, though… her power wasn't bad. Slightly weaker than Tang San, probably a rank 20+ Spirit Master.

Such fine goods—how could Dai Mubai pass up the chance?

"Not daring to cause trouble is mediocrity… huh?"

Tang San murmured, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

"I'm getting more interested in this 'monster' academy. Xiao Wu, if a fight breaks out, stay behind me."

But when he turned to look at Xiao Wu, he froze.

The girl who normally acted bold, wild, and unrestrained was pale-faced, hiding behind Ning Rongrong. In her eyes… was that fear?

"Xiao Wu, what's wrong?" Tang San asked with concern.

Xiao Wu shook her head, saying nothing. She was suppressing her soul beast aura as hard as she could. Perhaps it was paranoia, but moments ago… she felt someone had seen straight through her identity.

Seeing Xiao Wu so shaken, Tang San frowned. "Rongrong, what happened?"

"I don't know. She just suddenly turned like this."

Ning Rongrong shrugged, then her eyes suddenly widened.

"Look—look! It seems like they're about to fight!"

At her words, the Shrek group all turned their eyes toward Xiao Se's table.

Dai Mubai walked right up to them with a smile.

"Buddy, do me a favor and eat somewhere else. We're in a hurry. Of course, this young lady can stay."

"Scram."

Zhu Zhuqing spat out a single icy word.

Xiao Se glanced at her coldening expression, then casually lifted his teacup and took a slow sip. Without even looking at Dai Mubai, he replied lazily, "And what if I don't?"

"I'm Dai Mubai from Shrek Academy. Give me some face."

Being insulted by Zhu Zhuqing and ignored by Xiao Se—right in front of Tang San and the others—made Dai Mubai feel utterly humiliated.

"Face is something you earn yourself, not something others hand you."

Xiao Se replied calmly.

"Then I'll make you understand."

With a growl, Dai Mubai raised his right hand. A bestial breath—half tiger, half ape—escaped his throat as white light condensed in his palm. He swung it straight toward Xiao Se's shoulder.

He was never a patient man. His temper was worse than most. The only reason he'd held back earlier was to look good in front of Zhu Zhuqing.

But now that this guy refused him face?

No need for politeness.

However—

Reality often loves slapping people harder than expected.

Just as Dai Mubai's spirit power–filled palm was about to land, it abruptly stopped midair, completely immobile.

Xiao Se's left hand had clamped onto his wrist.

Gasps erupted around the room.

How could that slender, fair-skinned youth possibly stop Dai Mubai's massive arm so effortlessly?

"This is your proof? Ridiculous."

Xiao Se applied the slightest pressure.

Crack.

A bone snapped.

"AHHH—!"

Dai Mubai collapsed to his knees, screaming in agony.

His shriek cut across the entire restaurant.

People who recognized the infamous Young Master Dai exchanged delighted looks. Seeing the tyrant finally suffering was a rare treat.

"Let go of Boss Dai!"

Ma Hongjun panicked. They had clearly provoked the wrong person.

But seeing Tang San and their two support-type spirit masters behind him, his courage quickly returned.

Flames burst from his body as the Evil Fire Phoenix possessed him.

Two yellow rings rose beneath his feet—brilliant and bright.

Xiao Se didn't even look at him.

"If I don't let go, what will you do?"

He simply smiled at Zhu Zhuqing, tipped back the teacup, and drained it.

"Breaking someone's arm like that—isn't that going too far?"

Tang San finally stepped forward, face darkening.

His Blue Silver Grass spirit released, and two yellow rings rose beneath him as well.

"Too far…?"

Xiao Se paused, genuinely surprised. He set down his teacup and pointed to his own forehead.

"You damaged something up here?"

"What did you say?" Tang San narrowed his eyes.

"I said you're a hypocrite." Xiao Se's tone remained calm.

"That fat guy picked a fight with me. He attacked first. If it were me kneeling right now, you wouldn't be saying he 'went too far.' In fact, you'd probably clap and cheer.

Is this what your Shrek Academy teaches?

'Not daring to cause trouble is mediocrity'?

More like bullying the weak and shrinking before the strong."

"You'd better release him. I'll say it one last time."

Tang San's voice dropped low. His hands moved behind him—quietly reaching for the hidden weapons in his wrist device.

Xiao Se saw the motion, let out a cold laugh, and shook his head.

Beside him, Zhu Zhuqing finally stood up. Her body glowed with spirit power as her Netherworld Civet spirit awakened.

She positioned herself beside Xiao Se, staring sharply at Tang San and Ma Hongjun.

"If there's a fight, count me in."

Her voice was cold but firm.

She had watched everything from the beginning.

Dai Mubai's and Ma Hongjun's lecherous stares, their pointless provocation, their shameless aggression—

A bunch of spoiled, arrogant young masters.

And that was the type of person she hated the most.
