Xavier's body shook as the light created an extra layer over his skin. The villain did not notice any of the change.
She raised her hand, just enough to reach Xavier. Pressure began to gather wildly into her palm, condensing into one visible orb. With terrifying force, it launched towards Xavier.
Just mere inches away, it stopped. The pressure scattered, dissipating into the atmosphere like smoke.
A flicker of surprise appeared in the villain's eyes. But it was short-lived. Before she could even process her thoughts, Xavier was already standing before her, fist tightened into a punch.
Her eyes widened as she noticed the punch. But it was too late, Xavier's fist smashed into her chest. The blow was devastating; several buildings behind them were destroyed.
The light in the woman's eyes died. She did not even have time to agonize over the pain; one strike, and she was dead.
Xavier did not wait to admire his strength. It felt like gravity and direction did not affect him as he pushed. The floor beneath him broke in a thunderous crash as he darted forward.
His goal was clear: rescue his teammates.
The first was Morgan. He was fighting a man with bulging muscles. Morgan could not even move or turn back. Any distraction could break his forcefield at any moment.
Xavier appeared behind the man in a blur, shocking both Morgan and the villain.
Before the man could even register the entrance of a new hero, a crushing force hit him. His internal organs twisted and ruptured. Blood spilled from his eyes as pain wrecked his entire body.
In one final flick of Xavier's wrist, the villain erupted in a pool of blood and gore.
Xavier moved again, his speed creating ripples in the air. He did not even acknowledge Morgan's existence.
Morgan stared wide-eyed as his forcefield flickered out. He did not understand how someone who barely awakened his power today was able to insta-kill an NPC made to fight veteran supers.
"This is too much, even for an X-tier ability," Morgan sighed as he fell to the floor, exhausted. "Good thing he came at the right time, though," he smiled.
His next destination was Jordan. Jordan had been ambushed on his way to take the next group of refugees.
He was fighting a girl with a blazing hot whip that extended from her palm. Xavier did not even move too much. With a tug of his finger, the whip in her hand coiled.
She furrowed her brows at the sudden movement of her whip, but it was too late. The whip sliced cleanly through her body, dividing her into several parts.
Blood spattered, covering Jordan in a crimson hue. When Jordan turned back, all he saw was the afterimage of a person who was once there. "How?" That was the only word that escaped his mouth.
Aiden, still under the buildings, looked as the main villain walked closer, a huge fireball hovering just above his palm. With a vicious grin, the villain hurled the attack at Aiden.
Aiden closed his eyes as he got ready to end the simulation in defeat. But the attack never came. Aiden opened his eyes, only to be met with a sight that astonished him.
The fireball that he was so scared of was silently held in place in front of a person. The villain's grin faltered at the last minute.
Without hesitation, several other fireballs were conjured beside him. They shot towards Xavier as fast as they were created.
The result was the same; as they reached him, they stopped before they could hit him.
Xavier, as if bored by the villain's useless display, sent the fireballs back at full speed. The villain's scream filled the air as it was incinerated by the blast.
[Villain has been remade to match difficulty. Fireball villain has been increased to Flame manipulator villain]
The cold AI's voice echoed in everyone's ears as the villain was destroyed.
From the ruins of the destruction, the villain stood back up, its burnt part already scatheless.
Xavier looked at it, his expression unchanged. But the same could not be said for the rest. As the words sank into their mind, their entire body shrieked from fear. The already difficult situation was made more difficult.
"It all lies in Xavier's hands now," Morgan muttered, the same speech that came from the rest of the team.
The villain moved, flames erupting from the soles of his feet, propelling him towards Xavier in a flash. In his hand, a spear made entirely of flame manifested, its tip swirling with flames that threatened to devour Xavier whole.
The villain thrust, the temperature around the spear increasing to insane degrees as it shot forward.
As it neared Xavier, its trajectory was bent. Curved in an impossible direction that made even the villain's eyes deepen.
Before he could even react, Xavier flicked his finger, lightly and calmly. But the force behind the flick was not light in any way.
The villain's body exploded. He did not even have the chance to resist or fight back. The attack was final and absolute.
Not only the villain, but everything behind him, from buildings, down to the smallest brick. Nothing was spared from the destruction.
Aiden glanced at Xavier's back, his thoughts silenced at the strength being displayed before him.
"Did he truly awaken today?" The thought finally surfaced.
According to public information, X-tier skills, although they were the strongest, required time to master since they involved control. Unlike lower skills, which have their effects set from the start.
After a few seconds without any other enemies, Xavier's body eased. The green light that covered him died down, and he opened his eyes.
"How did I do that?" He muttered as he stared at his hand. Before, the memory of how he had brutally murdered the villains appeared.
Thinking about it, he felt the urge to throw up. But being in a virtual space, it was impossible.
'I killed them,' he thought.
[Simulation complete, Cadets, exit the simulator]
The A. Its cold voice rang in everyone's ears again, signaling the simulation's end.
