Scene:This continues from the last scene where Rana and his family fled the village.
The next morning, Rana and his family are traveling through mountains and forest. Rana and Suna walk ahead while Nimi rides on Rana's back.
Suna: Hah… hah… hey Rana, you know what?Rana: What?Suna: It's good Nimi's asleep — otherwise she'd have asked for food a dozen times by now! I don't even want to guess.Rana: Heh heh. I know. You look exhausted. Want to rest a little?Suna: No — let's rest only when we find a village. There we won't worry about Nimi's food.Rana: Alright then. "Frost Walk — Futaka."(Rana uses a skill that causes his body to glow lightly.)Suna: Ah! Wow…!Rana: Heh.Suna: Hmm. :)
Suddenly, not far from them, a blast — BOOM!
Rana & Suna: ! (shocked)Suna: What was that?Rana: Let's go check it out. (serious)Suna: Hmm. (serious)
They rush toward the noise. On a nearby slope they see a mana-car overturned; people lie dead around it and some stagger slowly toward the vehicle.
Suna: Bandits! Rana, do something — protect them!Rana: Hmm!
Rana jumps straight toward the car.
Rana: Ball of Spring — Yuvaja!(A cluster of many small dark-blue orbs shoots out and explodes on the enemies' faces.)
The dark-blue spheres detonate on the attackers, confusing and stunning them. Rana lands on top of the car.
The bandit leader shouts:
Boss: Hey! Who are you?! (arrogant)Rana: I'm Rana. I will protect the people inside this car.Boss: Damn — there's one of us, and we have at least fifteen! Attack! All: Yes, boss!
Rana: Mare of Water — Water Merag!
A torrent of water erupts and sweeps the attackers off their feet.
Boss: W–what?!
Rana suddenly vanishes from atop the car.
Boss: Huh?Then—Rana reappears right behind him, in the exact stance as if he held a knife, though nothing is in his hand.
Boss: You came from behind but you don't even carry a weapon? (confident)Rana: Don't move. You'll die. (threatening)Boss: If you want to scare me, make it scary then! (arrogant)
The boss tries to run, but suddenly his neck is sliced — his head separates from his body.
Rana: I wasn't trying to scare — I was warning you. (dry, joking)
Rana opens the car door.
Rana: Are you alright?
Inside the car, the driver and an old man lie unconscious.
Suna and Nimi hurry over.
Suna: What happened, Rana? (tense)Rana: It's fine — they're just unconscious. (calm)Suna: Heal them! (insistent)Rana: Yes…! (focused)Rana: Nature Heal. (calm)
The old man and the driver regain consciousness.
Old Man: Huh?! Guva? (the driver) What happened to those men?Guva (driver): I don't know, sir. I just fainted.Rana: Ah, ah, ah!Old Man: Who are you?Rana: My name is Rana. I was passing by when I heard an explosion. There were bandits around this car, so I killed them. You're now safe.Old Man: I see — you didn't need to explain in so much detail; just say you defeated them.Rana: ! Yes—exactly. (a little irritated)
The old man scoffs; Rana gives a small, embarrassed smile.
Suna: I'm Suna, and this is Nimi.Rana: Ha! She's my wife, and that child is ours.Suna: By the way, sir—what's your name?Hura: My name is Hura. Hura Dosa.Rana: Alright, Suna — Hura is safe now.Hura: Ah! Wait—Rana: Now what?Hura: May I know who you are and where you're heading? I can drop you off nearby at least. That's the least I can do.Rana: Well, you—
Suna interrupts, communicating silently with Rana through her skill (a mind-link).
Suna: Yes, of course!Rana: Why? (quietly)Suna (mind): Nimi is still asleep and I'm tired — let's accept the ride.Rana: Right.
They accept Hura's offer and travel on with him.
