Adrian and Farzom were walking back to the control room.
Farzom was dragging an undead corpse behind him, while holding 2 rocks in his other hand.
Adrian walked a little further ahead with a rock in each hand, a frown on his face and quick steps towards the control room, or to be precise, the water tap.
He was dying to wash his hands after he had to walk out of the shield and drag the zombie enough for Farzom to take care of the rest.
On his right hand, there were some spots of fresh blood, clinging to it.
But Adrian managed to keep his head slightly calm by imagining that it was the blood of a chicken, not a zombie.
While not perfect, that method worked at least a little.
The hunt had gone perfectly as they managed not to attract the attention of any other beast or zombie, and neither had any injury, but the rewards of the hunt were quite subpar, to say the least.
'It can't be that hunting them is completely useless right?' Adrian thought with a sigh as he washed his hand thoroughly, not missing a single spot.
'Do they drop loot? Did I get unlucky and not receive anything? Or is their corpse a reward?'
Using all his game library, Adrian was able to think of countless scenarios, but he wasn't yet able to test them.
So he walked towards the left wall of his control room, where a one meter long and wide duct was stretched outside of the wall.
Just like the fabrication tile, it was covered with a veil of darkness, unable to see what was going inside.
However on the duct, there was a small screen that showcased an empty bar, along with a text on top which read '0% (Lowest)'.
It was probably the amount of energy within the bioreactor, and the energy will be transferred to the control room at 12 AM and PM everyday.
"Farzom, put the rocks on the floor and pick up the corpse, and then put it into the duct slowly."
Farzom lowered himself and placed the rocks on the floor before grabbing the corpse and emotionlessly putting the corpse's face into the darkness of the duct.
He then released the head and grabbed both legs, raising them to slowly push the corpse into the duct with little to no resistance.
The darkness devoured the corpse almost too easily, causing shivers to run down Adrian's body.
Since then, he made a mental note to never put anything in the duct himself, he can ask Farzom or his other future helpers for it.
The bioreactor's screen flashed and the bar began to fill up slowly, stagnating once it was nearly 50% full.
[ 47% (Lowest ) ]
Adrian's eyes widened in surprise. '47% from a single corpse? The fuck? And the control room makes like 1% every hour using the sun??'
He smiled brightly, his annoyance vanishing, "Farzom, go back and make more wooden chips, buddy. Keep up the good work."
Farzom walked away with his head lowered, while Adrian decided to head back into the control room.
The hunting had easily taken him more than 10 minutes, and by the time he returned, he found a planting pot floating in the air.
It was filled to the brim with dark, grainy dirt, the kind he had heard to be very fertile, while the quality of the pot was impeccable, made of smooth wood and blue runic rings engraved upon it.
The runic rings wrapped around the pot like a respect coiling around its egg, while the dark wood appeared smoothened from every pore, giving the sense that it would not leak under any circumstances.
Adrian went closer to it in a hurry, eager to check it.
'Wow.' he thought, 'If its not functional, it can definitely be a designer showpiece…'
But then he shook his head, 'Nah it cost a lot of energy to make, it better be worth it.'
After dumping another load of 100 wooden chips, and starting the fabrication again, Adrian switched to chat with his lovely AI.
"Now can you explain to me how to use this pot?" Adrian, holding the pot in his hand asked.
[ Of course, manager 0420. The farming pot is a skill based technology which requires the manager, or any bond to have knowledge and skill related to farming or gardening.
The farming pot can be used to farm any sort of seed, grain, or plant at a much faster pace than normal. However only a bond with gardening skill can interact with the pot and activate the runes for speeding up the growth.
Using energy infused water to irrigate the pot can amplify the effects, however purified water can work just fine.
The pot can generate enough energy to be self-sufficient at a regular pace as long as it's under sunlight. It cannot function at nights. ]
"Does 'cannot function' mean the crop inside will get ruined? Or does it mean that it can no longer speed up the growth?"
[ The farming pot provides the ideal condition for most plants to grow in, so the plants will never get ruined unless they are harmed intentionally or not provided with water for many days.
At night, it can no longer speed up the growth of plants on its own, however irrigating it with energy-infused water can allow continued sped-up growth of plants even at night. ]
Adrian hummed as he looked at the farming pot with a bright smile, it turned out to be quite a good technology.
By now, the energy chips had finished fabricating, so he started the timer again to make the chips into 5 bonding spheres.
He then kept the pot aside, glancing at his current energy and water reserves again.
[ Energy - 89% (Lowest) ] ( Recovering at the rate of 1%/hr )
[ Bioreactor - 47% (Lowest) ]
// Note: 100% Energy (Lowest) = 10% Energy (Low) approximately.
[ Shield - 100% ]
[ Tank - Energy-infused water (Lowest) x82 L
Purified water x 999 L ]
Adrian was pleasantly surprised, 'I still have like 82 L left, that's not too bad, should I start converting more purified water to energy infused?
I don't really need the low grade energy, so I should rather choose to burn away around 37% more energy than turn it into low grade energy.'
So he hummed and turned to chat, "Can you use 20% energy to convert purified water into energy infused water?"
[ Of course, manager 0420. The conversion will give you around 16 L more energy infused water. Proceed? ]
"Yes."
Adrian grinned, for crafting more bonding spheres, he needed lots of water, after all.
'I am not thrilled about it, but leveling up is the only way to learn how to level up my control room, which will unlock more information for me.' He convinced himself.
'If I need to use the extraction altar, then so be it.'
