He had been talking on the regional chat for a while earlier and found out that a couple of people in his region had already managed to catch a second bond, while he was loitering around and breaking twigs.
It was not to say that he was being too slow, but he felt that he could definitely do better.
'I need to test something first, can anyone come inside my shield? Can I turn it off for sometime and turn it back on?'
The moment he got that idea, he asked Farzom to wait outside and quickly ran in to ask the chat.
[ Energy shield can not be turned off until it runs out of energy. Any uncorrupted being can enter the shield at any time. Upgrading the control room can allow more advanced features. ]
"Ugh, upgrading the control room again? How do I even do it?"
[ Manager 0420 is not yet qualified to know. ]
"Then how do I become qualified?"
[ Leveling up. ]
Adrian's eyes widened, he realized he had never asked the requirement for qualification, but now he knew.
Maybe the guy on regional chat, Shawn knew this much as well.
"When do I unlock the trading feature?"
[ Control room level 3. ]
"What else can you tell me?"
[ I can tell you a lot of things, manager 0420. ]
"Such as?"
[ Such as there are 8 minutes and 38 seconds remaining until the farming pot is finished fabricating. ]
"Tell me something I don't know."
[ I am sorry, my intelligence isn't that advanced to read through your memories and learn what the manager don't know about. ]
"..." Adrian massaged his eyelids, "Wait, what do I unlock at control room level 2?"
[ Control room level 2 will unlock various features, the major being introduction to continental chat, leaderboards, and secondary areas. ]
"At level 4?"
[ You are not qualified to know. ]
Realizing that further talks were a waste of time, Adrian left the control room with a saddened expression.
The plan to open the energy shield for a few seconds and luring some prey within the area was just made impossible.
"Farzom, buddy go pick the biggest rocks you can find and bring them to me."
Adrian ordered and Farzom nodded, walking off towards a pile of rocks in the area.
'Although I can't catch any more bonds since the spheres aren't crafted yet, I will just try to kill one and see if it gives me experience.'
He himself leaned down and picked some big stones, ranging from the size of a fist to double of it.
That was the max that he could pick and throw comfortably without it losing out in the speed, which would reduce the force.
Having made up his mind, Adrian walked around the control room for a couple minutes until he spotted a lone zombie loitering near the shield.
"Farzom, come with me." He grabbed two rocks himself, one in each hand, while Farzom waddled behind him while holding 4 more rocks of similar size.
Adrian gave a strict order to him to not fall and watch his step, in order to not cause any noise and attract the attention of something ominous.
After all, he still remembered the long centipede that looked like it could rip Adrian to shreds in a single second.
'Hah that's lucky.' After moving decently close, the zombie had also noticed Adrian, rushing at him madly.
However, sadly for the zombie, there was a strong shield in between.
The zombie smashed its head against the shield, instantly falling to the ground and bleeding.

"I'm glad you're just level 1, I didn't want to kill a high level, since I would rather catch a high level than use it as an experimental rat."
Adrian scoffed at the zombie before turning to look at Farzom, "Throw a rock at his head."
Adrian then pointed at the fallen zombie's head.
Without any hesitation, Farzom shifted 3 rocks onto his left hand and used his right hand to throw a rock at the zombie's head.
The rock flew in a gentle arc, narrowly dodging the zombie's head and hitting it on the shoulder with a satisfying crunch of bones breaking.
[[ HP: 31/110 ]]
"That's enough, good job." Adrian raised his eyebrows in surprise after seeing the amount of damage caused by a single rock throw of Farzom.
'I don't even know what my own attack power is, I need to ask the control chip, but damn, these zombies are pretty weak in the daytime.'
Adrian wrinkled his nose in disgust when the smell of flesh and metallic blood wafted to him, but he took a deep breath from his mouth, trying not to breathe through the nose as he narrowed his eyes and aimed at the fallen zombie's head.
He held his stance for a few seconds before finally flexing his arms backwards and letting the rock loose, hitting the zombie directly on the temple.
Gruh…
With a fading groan, the zombie's HP trickled down to 0 and Adrian looked at the corpse with bated breath, hoping for some sort of a message or any notification, but none came.
His talent window was completely silent, as if the kill didn't matter at all.
'Uhh…' Adrian was stumped, "Talent window."

There was not a single change in the whole window.
Adrian sighed deeply, his head lowering with a disappointed scoff.
'Well, at least the body didn't disappear. I can use it for the bioreactor, I wonder how much energy it could give.'
Trying to see the silver lining, Adrian asked Farzom to drag the body back towards the control room, but Farzom stared at him blankly, as if saying 'idiot' with just his eyes.
"What are you staring at me for? Go get the body." Adrian grunted, not liking the look Farzom was giving him.
Farzom turned to look at the body and began to walk closer to it before bumping against the shield and stopping.
As if to prove his point further, he raised his hand and pressed it against the shield, showing that he can't leave the shield.
Adrian's eyelids twitched.
'This bitch actually has intelligence…?'
