Royce stirs feebly, groaning at the rhythmic maddening beep…beep…beep… beep annoying sound. It cut through his consciousness, followed by the sharp smell of antiseptic.
Royce slowly blinks his eyes open but gets blinded by the fluorescent lights.
"Ahh," Royce groans softly, about to cover his eyes with his elbow when he realizes he is tangled up with so many wires attached to his hands, his torso and his chest.
"You shouldn't try to move too much, Alpha."
Royce immediately recognizes this voice to be Beta Oziel. He opens his eyes and looks at the beta with a tight smile.
"You have grown so much," Beta Oziel needled, his tone filled with unfiltered sadness but he tries to cover it with a professional smile, "Here, let me help you, someone is here to see you."
Royce doesn't ask who, he quietly sits up with the help of the beta, grimacing at the corrosive pain crashing through his body at the slightest movement.
