"I think I'm done with all this shit. It's exhausting."
Marcus said as he closed his laptop with more force than necessary.
Aria looked up from the couch where she'd been reviewing surveillance photos.
Marcus crossed the room in three strides and took the photos from her hands.
"Hey, I was…"
His mouth covered hers, swallowing the protest. His hand fisted in her hair, angling her head back as his tongue swept against hers.
When he finally released her, Aria was breathless.
"Come on, let's go to the bedroom. Now." His voice left no room for argument.
"We have work…"
Marcus wrapped his hands around her throat, very gently. "Do I need to carry you, or are you going to walk?"
Heat flooded through her, the kind she'd been suppressing for weeks. She stood without another word and walked toward the bedroom, feeling his eyes tracking every one of her movements.
