"Patricia's dead."
Dmitri's voice came through the phone before Aria was fully awake, and Marcus was already reaching for the gun on the nightstand.
"What happened?" Marcus said as he put the call on speaker.
"Car accident. Three hours ago. She drove off the FDR and into the river." Dmitri spoke slowly, "The police are saying it was an accident. They say she lost control."
Aria was already out of bed and pulling on clothes. "You don't believe that."
"She was our only confirmed mole. She was the only one we'd identified who could lead us to whoever's behind the attacks." Dmitri paused. "Now she's dead before we could question her. That timing isn't an accident, and you know it."
Marcus stood up, his face hard. "Someone silenced her. Someone who knew we were watching."
