Chapter 30 - Mental Restraints

(Third Person POV)

[A Long Time Ago, In a Different World]

"He's suffered internal bleeding, a few broken ribs, and a serious concussion." The Doctor told the woman who sat on a chair, "It will take him a few months at least to fully recover, but with enough rest, he will make the recovery."

The woman looked at the doctor, "I see...." She said softly, "Thank you."

"Physically, he could recover." The Doctor said as he looked over at the hospital bed, seeing the young Cyrus asleep on it, covered in bandages, "But mentally and psychologically, it would be difficult to do so. Such trauma will forever scar him, especially if there are other effects due to he concussion. Insurance covers for multiple check-ups, so we'll have appointments set up when he makes the recovery."

The woman had a sling on her arm, "Thank you." she said, "I figured."

"The authorities are investigating the incident." The Doctor said, "Some officers will come and question both you and the boy when he wakes. I have informed them that they should press the boy too much, not to cause complications."

He then walked out of the room as the woman stood up and slowly walked over to the bed, placing her good arm on his shoulder.

"C-Cyrus...." She said as tears began to roll down her face, "I'm so sorry this happened to you. Why did it come to this?"

Cyrus was asleep, his head wrapped in bandages.

The woman hunched over, sobbing uncontrollably as she hugged him with her arm.

"I'm so sorry, Cyrus!" She cried, "This is our fault! Our fault!"

"I love you so much!!"

[Present Day, Back In King's Landing]

"What's with the incense?" Cyrus asked as he sat down on a couch, "Smells good, though."

"It allows us to have a clearer head." Mira said as she was lighting more incense up, "Specially crafted from my village, it is meant to clear your mind and loosen your body. We only use it whenever an individual requires to release their inner turmoil."

"Hm." Cyrus said as he looked at her, "Is that so?"

She looked at him, "My Lord." She said, "There is something holding you back. In your mind, there is a restraint that was placed upon it a long time ago. Perhaps this vessel of yours has suffered some sort of traumatic event?"

Cyrus blinked, "Something like that."

"Maybe it was the battle that killed him." Mira walked over, "House Targaryen entered a skirmish with some Bravoosi groups, resulting in a few battles to happen."

"Hm." Cyrus said, "It could be that. But I doubt it."

"Then speak." She said as she stood in front of him, "Speak, what is it that bothers you?"

Cyrus closed his eyes, remembering that night. It had happened so fast; him and his siblings were dragged out of their beds and thrown into the front yard of their house. He could feel the blows that he suffered, every single inch of his body throbbing in response to the memory.

He was bedridden for an entire month afterwards, barely recovering from injuries that subjected him to such pain.

He was scarred since that moment, mentally holding him back from nearly anything. He became emotionally detached from others, never listening or paying attention to things that they told him. If it was not something he was interested in, he didn't care for it. He simply pushed aside the information, casting it aside and not caring much for it.

That is what happened with his ex-girlfriend; he was told everything there was to know about this world, but because he wasn't interested at first, he didn't remember any of it. It was a mistake he made, but one that he couldn't help but make. He found it hard to care for things that others pushed on him and he rarely tried.

He should have tried, however.

"It doesn't matter." Cyrus said, "There is no reason for a sob story to be brought up."

"If that is what you wish." Mira said, "But you should keep it from holding you back. I am here to help with that."

"How are you going to do that?" Cyrus asked her

"Your body is but a vessel, one that harnesses your true power. The power of flames." Mira said, "Should you allow me, I am to subject it to bliss. That way, your restraints will be easier to be released."

"Bliss?" Cyrus said

Mira gently pushed him back, sitting atop his lap, "That is correct." She said softly, "I do this for Our Lord."

Cyrus raised his eyebrow, "Do Red Priestess whore themselves out this often?"

"We do what we must." She said with a smile, "This is not a common occurrence, My Lord."

"Hm." Cyrus said with a smirk

"Do you not want this?" She said, "Does this make you uncomfortable? You refused a Targaryen Princess, I am afraid I do not know what it is you fancy-"

"That one is but a girl." Cyrus said, "I like Women."

"Women." She smiled, "That is what I am."

"But if you think this is going to work." Cyrus said with a serious expression, "There is no reason to refuse. I need those 'restraints' off. If you do that, then maybe I can have access to my Willpower."

"Willpower?" She asked

Cyrus nodded, "It is a hunch." He said, "To do what I have to do. I must have a powerful Will."

Mira patted his cheek, "I do what My Lord asks of me." She said softly, grinding herself against him, "I, ahh, I do it for you."

Cyrus gently grabbed her by the waist, "Don't let this be a misunderstanding." He said seriously, "This is for a specific reason."

"Yes, of course." Mira leaned in and kissed him on the lips briefly, "The incense is working, is it not? Is your body feeling good?"

Cyrus looked at her, his entire body feeling lighter than usual, "Yea..." He said, "I hope I don't accidentally burn you."

"Being burned by you would be a great honor." Mira leaned in and kissed his neck, "I wouldn't mind."

"Now, let us begin~"
