Aria
"I—" My breath caught in my throat, and I couldn't continue speaking at that moment, my head bowed again because of the guilt I felt.
"Think about what I said. I just don't want you to tarnish our family name again," Grandma Martha said.
I could only nod my head slowly, understanding what Grandma Martha meant.
After that, Grandma Martha took me to the backyard, where she showed me her greenhouse, which had various flowers planted inside.
However, my head was still thinking about Grandma Martha's previous words, and I couldn't really focus on enjoying the beauty of these flowers.
. . .
The sky was already dark when Caleb drove me back to the Lennox family mansion. At that moment, I realized that Caleb wanted to say something to me, but I quickly cut him off.
"Thank you for taking me home. See you again," I said quickly, pulling the corners of my stiff lips into a smile, then hurriedly grabbed my bag and got out of Caleb's car.
I noticed Caleb staring at my back reluctantly, but he didn't say anything to stop me. I quickly walked into the mansion.
Several servants who happened to be passing through the living room greeted me, but I ignored them completely. I continued walking towards my room on the second floor.
I immediately threw myself onto the bed. For some reason, I felt very tired even though I hadn't done much today.
"What should I do now?" I reached out my hand toward the ceiling, staring at it blankly for a moment.
"Should I let Caleb go from my plan for revenge? But he's part of my agreement with father," I muttered softly, feeling confused about my current situation.
Slowly, I pulled my hand back and placed it over my eyes, a heavy sigh escaping my lips.
. .
The next day, I had bags under my eyes. I hadn't been able to sleep at all last night because I couldn't stop thinking about what Grandma Martha had said yesterday.
In fact, my mother started complaining because I had been sighing all morning. I only realized I was doing it when my mother scolded me.
"What's going on that you keep sighing like that?" Mom shot me a curious and annoyed look from across the dining table.
"I'm sure she's starting to regret coming home and is missing her ex," Theo replied confidently.
Hearing that, I raised the spoon in my hand and pointed it at Theo, ready to hit him on the head with it.
"You'd better shut up than say nonsense like that!" I glared at Theo, completely unable to accept his nonsense.
Not only did I react like that, but my father and mother stared sharply at Theo. Theo ended up grimacing helplessly because of that.
"Theo, don't say that nonsense again. Whatever happened, Aria has returned home, and I'm sure she won't do that childish thing again," said my mother seriously.
"I was just joking. Sorry, sis. I guess I went too far," Theo replied, patting my head gently.
"Just don't bring it up again in front of me," I replied, still annoyed by his words.
Because of my annoyance with Theodore, I momentarily forgot what I had been thinking about earlier. Until finally, my attention was diverted by a notification sound from my cell phone.
I quickly checked the new message and realized it was from the agent Caleb had introduced me to earlier. Since I really needed an agent to take care of my work contract, they asked me to come see them.
I turned to Theodore with a big grin, knowing how to use this opportunity to my advantage.
"Brother, can you lend me your car? I have to go out to meet someone," I said excitedly.
"Huh?" Theodore raised one eyebrow in confusion.
"Consider this if you really sincerely apologize to me," I replied with a slight grin.
"Oh my god, you're really taking advantage of this opportunity to get back at me." Theodore looked annoyed, but he still gave me his car keys.
"You're the best, then I'll be off!" I quickly got up and grabbed my bag to leave.
"Aria, where are you going?"
From a distance, I could hear my mother asking about my departure, but I just waved at her and hurried away.
"There's no doubt about it, one thing is certain: I have to get back what I deserve in this life," I muttered softly as I clenched my fists, having decided that no matter what happened, I had to get my career in the entertainment world back.
I was sure Arden wouldn't be happy if he found out that I could be more successful than him, and that's when I would take revenge on him.
With that thought in mind, I immediately drove Theodore's black luxury sedan to meet my new agent.
. .
After driving for almost 30 minutes, I finally arrived at the Eminence Talent House building, which was the agency of the agent Caleb had introduced me to earlier.
Not wanting to keep anyone waiting too long, I hurried out of the car and entered the agency building. Unexpectedly, the person I was supposed to meet was already waiting for me in the lobby.
"Miss Aria?" A young woman with striking fashion greeted me.
"Yes. Are you Stacy?" I hurriedly extended my hand to her formally.
"That's right, I'm glad to finally meet you in person. Let's go to my room then," replied Stacy as she accepted my handshake politely.
After that, I followed Stacy to her room, which was on the 5th floor of the agency building. On my way to Stacy's room, I realized that there were many actresses and actors under their management.
I recognized some of them, and they were among the top actors in the country.
"I didn't expect you guys to work with so many famous actors in the industry," I said unconsciously when I saw the people passing by inside the agency building.
Stacy laughed softly, "Of course, we are one of the best in the industry. You won't regret joining us." Stacy glanced at me and winked.
I nodded happily. At least I hadn't chosen the wrong people to work with. Besides, without Caleb's help, it would have been difficult for me to join them.
Stacy immediately took out the contract after we sat down on the sofa in her office.
"Mr. Caleb instructed me to help you return to the industry. I'd be happy to help you, ma'am. I hope we can work well together," Stacy said after I signed the contract.
Thanks to Caleb's help, I was able to work with a famous agency like Eminence Talent House. It seemed like I had to repay his kindness.
