Chapter 4- First Step
It was night in New York, a darkness that could rival even the decaying city of Gotham. Our hero was searching for crime when he heard an explosion in the distance and ran toward it. Upon arriving, he saw a building engulfed in flames with many people trapped inside. Without thinking twice, our hero jumped into the building and started saving everyone he could find. It took a few minutes, but for the families, it felt like hours. Luka, whose heroic name was Red Hood (yes, influenced a bit by Jason's mentality), saved those people, marking his first heroic act.
Still patrolling the city, Luka fought smaller crimes like robbery, harassment, and other petty offenses. Soon, dawn broke, and Luka headed home. Arriving, the system spoke:

"Damn, that was a huge evolution. I didn't expect it to be this much, but I like it. From what I see, it's 2010, so Batman, Superman, Flash, and some lesser heroes already exist, plus Iron Man, Hulk, and for now, that's it. Tomorrow we might see Spider-Man… or maybe Spider-Woman, who knows."
Luka got ready, went downstairs, and as always, John was there waiting for him.
John said:
— "Come on, young master. Today your class has a field trip to OSCORP. Remember, you are technically one of OSCORP's largest shareholders, so be careful—there are people who could harm you. Also, Blackgate Enterprises, where your father was the owner, is now yours as successor."
Luka was surprised; he didn't remember his father having a company.
— "Wait, my dad had a company and never told me?"
John replied:
— "Young master, you rarely cared about those bureaucracies, so you never asked. Besides, the company was inaugurated two days before your parents' death. Now come on, or you'll be late."
Luka followed John, still thinking how strange this information was: his father opened a company and then died two days later… very odd.
They arrived at the car and headed to school. When Luka got out, everyone was watching him, since he had put Flash in his place. Peter called out:
— "Luka, glad you came! I was waiting for us to go together to OSCORP. I love science, and I found the spider research fascinating."
Before Luka could respond, another voice interrupted: Gwen said:
— "I also think this research is fascinating. If it works, maybe we'll see more Captain Americas in the future."
Luka said:
— "Really interesting, but I don't think it will be that easy. If they haven't succeeded yet, maybe they should stop. Did you see what happened with Bruce Banner? A renowned physicist, now a green monster constantly hunted by the government."
They spent hours exchanging ideas, and soon arrived at OSCORP with the school. Peter excitedly wanted to take a picture of Luka and Gwen, and they agreed. As he was taking the photo, Luka noticed a spider near Peter's neck biting him. Luka was surprised but said nothing, since he really liked Spider-Man. Peter slapped the spider, and it latched onto Gwen's wrist, biting her as well.
Soon both started feeling ill, so Luka, being a good friend, called John, who took them home to rest.
POV – OSCORP
— "How did it disappear?!" shouted a well-known man, Norman Osborn.
The scientists explained:
— "Sir, we don't know… the spider just vanished without a trace."
Norman, furious, said:
— "Then find it, or you won't see tomorrow. You'll all be bankrupt, understood?!"
The scientists, terrified, said in unison:
— "Yes, sir! We will find it!"
POV – Luka
Luka jumped from one rooftop to another, his combat boots barely making a sound on the wet concrete. The lights of New York reflected off his black and red suit, while the visor of his mask automatically adjusted focus.
Ahead, a female silhouette moved with feline agility, carrying a bag full of jewels. Luka landed silently on the ledge and murmured:
— "Let me guess… not Halloween night, huh?"
The woman stopped and looked over her shoulder, a mocking smile appearing on her face.
— "Depends… are you the treat or the scare?"
Luka raised an eyebrow under his hood.
— "Funny. But I'm going to need you to return what you stole, kitty."
She approached slowly, steps soft and teasing, body perfectly balanced on the ledge.
— "'Kitty'? Hmm… seems like someone did their homework on me." — She twirled a small silver rope around her finger. — "And who are you? Teenage Batman cosplay?"
Luka crossed his arms.
— "Almost… but better looking."
She laughed.
— "Modest too."
In the blink of an eye, Felicia attacked. A leg strike Luka barely dodged, then she jumped back, landing gracefully. He spun and released a small spark of electricity at her, which she acrobatically dodged, rolling on the ground.
— "Wow… electricity? Now I'm curious, hero." — She smiled mischievously, kicking a small piece of metal toward him.
Luka raised his hand, and the metal froze midair, levitating.
— "Curious enough to surrender?"
Felicia leapt, hanging from a wire of energy between the buildings.
— "Surrendering isn't in my wardrobe, darling."
He launched after her, both racing across the rooftops. The wind blew strong, and for a few seconds, they laughed—yes, laughed—competing on who was faster.
Felicia jumped, and just as she was about to fall, Luka used a boost of fire from his boots to grab her by the waist.
— "Got you."
She looked close, face just inches from his.
— "Yeah, you did. Now what, hero?"
Luka smiled under the mask.
— "Let you go."
Felicia blinked, surprised.
— "Really?"
— "Really. But next time… I'll want a kiss instead of a fight."
She laughed, jumped away, and disappeared into the night.
— "We'll see, Red Hood… we'll see."
The system emitted a soft sound:
