Chapter 5 - Transformation

Given that this room is full of orc, I can assume that this is where they spawn. A spawn point and hallways of paths like a maze. Those two details lead me to believe that I am currently in a dungeon or a similar place. I base my deductions from games and works of fiction, so there are chances that this cannot be the case.

After what seems to be an hour for me, I finally finish eating all of them orc bodies in the room. For unknown reasons, I do not feel full despite consuming huge amount of food. It may be a mimic's trait or my own ability, I thinks to himself.

Nevertheless, I am satisfied with all the power-ups I have gained from eating hundreds of magic crystals. During the feast, I discover that I can adjust the size of my body up to three times my mimic size. But the bigger I am, the more of his strength is reduced.

Because of that I figure out I have some kind energy I think to be mana in my body. The mana in my body is radiating similarly to the energy with the gems. In short, adjusting my size uses mana, which is quite ineffective at this point. Also, not using my mana is probably the reason why I cannot cast magic earlier.

The more I eat those monster gems, the longer I can change my size. In other words, my mana reservoir is continuously increasing its capacity. I am aware that my strength is getting stronger in the process.

In fact, I feels like I have become exponentially a lot stronger and more powerful than when first woke up in this body. In comparison, I need to use my full strength to break a rib bone earlier, but now, a single, regular bite alone easily cuts through stacks of bones and flesh.

In addition, I can now open my mouth vertically by stretching my body higher than it should be instead of opening with hinges. My body has turned so flexible that I can open his mouth meters in length. That is why I manages to consume all of the orcs within a relatively short time.

(Wait a minute. If I can recreate the eyes of the orc into my body, so maybe...)

When the eyes appeared on my body earlier, I was actually yearning to see. So once I have eaten the eye, my system recognized my need for vision and gave me eyes. For the same logic, now that I consumes several full bodies of orc, I can theoretically tranform my entire body into that of orc.

Concentrating my mind into vividly visualizing the image of an orc, I use a large amount of mana from my own magic crystal and channel it throughout my body. I then close my eyes for a few seconds for better visuals. After seconds of focused visualization, my body suddenly morphs and begins to take another form.

...

Seconds has passed and I no longer feel any movements or changes in his body. When I open my eyes, I notice that my eye level raises. Looking below, I see my fat and pink belly. I have successfully transformed into an orc.

(At last. I have hands.) Looking at my fist, I celebrate inwardly.

After that, I next peer down and check the most important thing, at least for me. With a smile on my face, I am satisfied I can still have my male part. However, my smile slowly vanishes.

(Though it's kinda small in relative to this body's size. Also, I don't like how it looks. Perhaps I should find something more humanoid next. Is there even humans in this world?)

Unsatisfied with my lack of prominence, I decide to undo that specific part, making me genderless at the moment. But I will definitely bring it back as soon as I find the perfect specimen. If this is the other world, I will definitely get some women and get laid. I never experienced it back there, by the way.

Going back to the topic, I do some tests to my current body. As expected, maintaining the form consumes mana. However, it is not as wasteful as altering my mimic's size.

Overtime, the mana consumption gradually shrinks until I do not burn mana at all. In conclusion, both full and partial transfer is resourcefully better than changing my real body's size, which I find strange.

With this body, I am able to do human actions to a certain extent such as punching and kicking. Though the latter needs a lot of effort to pull off due to my weight and body ratio. But still, I have obtain more viable options that compensate the limits of my true body.

Since I have the idea of utilizing my mana as well as gaining a voice, I try to cast magic again. Visualizing the ball of flames in my mind and channeling my mana at the same time, I thrust my pig arms forward and attempts to release my first magic.

"FIREBALL."

...

The orc's voice is deep and almost unintelligible but my pronunciation to clear, at least for me. Even so I still cannot do magic. I then look at my hands and think if I lacks something or if I am not focusing enough.

Since magic is still yet to attain, if there's actually magic, I cancel the orc transformation and revert back to my mimic form, which I am more comfortable with, before exiting the empty room and start wandering without destination again.

◆◇◆◇◆◇

Several minutes a few turns has passed and I do not encounter any monster since that giant golem. Judging by the vastness of the hallways and the maze-like structure of the place, I suspect this place is a dungeon, a place so vast and massive that the monsters rarely encounter one another.

After taking a turn, I finally stumble upon into something new. I walk in front of it and face another entry similar to the one from before. Sensing no danger in it, I walk inside and find a mountain of monster corpses.

When I take a glance at a dead monster on my left, I see that its physique is small and lean, thinner than the orc, and its skin is dark green. Its nose and ear are pointed. I immediately know that these monsters are goblins, a classic fantasy monster.

(Although its smaller and more humanoid. I will never become a goblin.)

Afterwards, I opens my mouth wide and high and devour the goblin. Munch. Honestly, they taste bad, so I only takes a bite and proceeds consuming their prisms instead.
