Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Anjali

After Rajesh Kumar finished everything, it was already past eight o'clock when his cell phone rang.

"Hey, Mom, guess who I am?"

Anjali on the other end of the phone had a dark look on her face. She might have given birth to a fake daughter.

"I guess you are Priya Rao, my good baby, right?"

"Wow, Mummy is so awesome. You knew it was me as soon as you guessed it."

The little guy started chatting with her mother and talked a lot. Rajesh Kumar was listening beside her and didn't interrupt, but slowly fell into memories.

Priya's mother was Rajesh Kumar's senior in college. She was the goddess of the performing arts department, having graduated two years ahead of Rajesh Kumar.

In Rajesh Kumar's junior year, Anjali was already a slightly famous actress. Rajesh Kumar only knew a few goddesses in the university, but he didn't know Anjali yet.

Rajesh Kumar worked a part-time job as a bartender during college.

One night, Rajesh Kumar, who was returning to his hostel after his part-time job, met a drunk Anjali near a pub in Connaught Place, New Delhi.

At that time, Rajesh Kumar was not as determined as the Rajesh Kumar in front of him now. He was fascinated by Anjali after just one glance.

The drunk Anjali didn't care who he was, so she dragged him into the pub to drink again. Rajesh Kumar was worried that something would happen to her but refused. It was a joke—how could he refuse in this matter?

As a result, the two got drunk and had a night together. When Anjali sobered up the next day, she was going crazy. It was like this for the first time.

Who is this guy in front of me? Although he is good-looking, he is engaged!

If his family found out, he would definitely be in big trouble. After thinking about it, Anjali finally decided to cut off all relations with the person in front of her, but she was so unlucky that she got pregnant.

Afterwards, Anjali investigated Rajesh Kumar and found out that he was from the Kumar family of New Delhi and did not approach her intentionally. He was also a student at Delhi University, and everything with him was accidental.

Anjali didn't want to be a victim of her family, so she didn't accept the arranged marriage, and had no choice but to escape, quietly leaving her family's attention, and secretly gave birth to little Priya in the United States.

But without the support of the family's business, she had cut off all contact with her family. She had almost spent all the money she earned in the past two years. What would she do if she had no money?

When her daughter was more than one year old, she decided to return to India for development and could only leave her daughter to her father to raise.

Although she really didn't want Rajesh Kumar to take care of her daughter, she investigated this man after returning to India, and his life was in a mess, but she really couldn't find a suitable candidate.

Half an hour later, little Priya shook Rajesh Kumar.

"Daddy, Mummy said she loves you." She handed the phone to him.

Anjali on the other end of the phone was tricked by her own daughter again.

"Hey." Rajesh Kumar said.

"Please calm down, don't play games all day and not take care of your daughter." Some people on the other side hated the iron for not becoming steel.

"Don't worry, I will take good care of my daughter from now on, and I won't play games anymore."

"This is best. I hope you are not perfunctory with me. I heard my daughter say, did you make something delicious for her tonight?"

When Anjali heard her daughter compliment him on his cooking skills, she didn't believe it. She probably ordered takeout from a five-star hotel and lied to her daughter.

This guy is getting more and more outrageous. She would fix him properly when she had time.

"Well, I promised her that I will cook for her in the future."

"Hehe."

Anjali seemed to be hearing a joke.

Regarding Anjali's hehe, Rajesh Kumar knew that she didn't believe him, and he didn't care whether she believed it or not.

After ending the call, Rajesh Kumar gave his daughter a bath, during which Priya clamored for Rajesh Kumar to tell her a story.

No way.

He could only tell a few stories from memory to continue the deception. Not to mention that if these stories were spread, he didn't know how many publishing houses would be scrambling to authorize them.
