In the room, across from her, an agent from the organization sat waiting. He flipped through the pages of the file, his eyebrows furrowed, his cold voice ringing out.
"Code name Noir. In the last mission... why didn't you take action?"
"I thought that with your abilities, they wouldn't even have time to blink before they were sent to the other world! Or... did you think you... had the right to decide?" *smirked contemptuously*
Noir didn't answer. Her blue eyes flashed slightly. In an instant, she saw the agent's thoughts clearly, saw the image of him clutching the alarm button in his sleeve. A faint smile flitted across her lips.
"You bastard..."
He froze in shock.
"I've served you for quite some time now, haven't I? Now you should at least let me... make a request!"
"I know... what you're planning to do." *cold laugh*
Just as fear flashed in her eyes, the chain snapped. Noir lunged forward, knocking him down before he could press the button. His cold body fell, eyes still wide open. The alarm blared, red lights instantly flooding the steel hallway. Noir glanced up at the camera mounted in the room, then quickly turned and walked away.
The entire base blared several shrill announcements.
"Target Noir has escaped. Eliminate at all costs."
"Target Noir has escaped. Eliminate at all costs."
The door burst open. Dozens of assassins poured out, weapons gleaming. Noir took a deep breath, her left eye glowing a brilliant red. The world around her slowed down. Every heartbeat, every step, every slash became crystal clear in her vision.
The blade sliced across her cheekbone. Noir tilted her head to dodge, countering with a precise stab to the stomach and the back of their necks. The red of blood silently stained her dagger. Each movement was sharp and precise, as if she had seen it a thousand times before—every bullet, every breath. The shadows fell one by one.
But then, the iron door behind her burst open, flying a distance toward her as if to pin her against the wall. Luckily, Noir dodged in time, and a stronger opponent appeared. He gripped his sword tightly, moving so fast that even her blue eyes struggled to follow. Noir was forced back, her back hitting the cold wall.
"Well? A perfect code name, huh? *he laughed maliciously*
He attacked her relentlessly, as if wanting his sword to pierce every part of her body. Noir moved quickly, trying to find an opening, but was still slashed on her left arm, blood flowing uncontrollably.
In that moment, another sharp pain tore through her head. Her right eye burned like red-hot coal. The air shook, her vision distorted. Noir roared, charging like a wild beast that hadn't seen prey in a long time.
Each blow she delivered, each sweeping slash, was so fast and brutal that her enemy couldn't react in time. The smell of iron filled the air along with heavy breathing. His body could no longer withstand her dagger, and by the time he turned his head to fight back, Noir had picked up a gun, decisively pulled the trigger, and he collapsed, blood flowing until there were no signs of life left. And around him were corpses lying scattered on the ground.
Noir stood gasping for breath, her hands trembling. In that moment, she realized she had nearly lost control completely.
She quickly moved toward the exit, the final door swinging open, leading out into the damp night of the city. Noir stepped out, rain pouring down, neon lights reflecting in her fiery red-and-blue eyes.
She whispered to herself amid the falling rain.
"The organization... freedom?"
"If these eyes are weapons... then I will control them."
Elsewhere, in the organization's dark meeting room, cold faces sat around a long table. Noir's file lay in the center, the words "GLOBAL WANTED" printed in blood-red ink.
A hoarse voice emerged from the darkness.
"Let's see... how far this product will go."
Outside, Noir walked through the gray rain. Her shadow stretched endlessly, her bright eyes piercing the dark night.
