The golden light of the ceiling projectors cut through the rising haze of pulverized concrete, illuminating the two figures locked in the center of the stadium.
Kain Vortex stood entirely motionless, his uniform pristine, his arms crossed over his chest like a modern deity commanding the laws of physics. Around him, the four purple spheres of compressed emission aura hummed in a tight, hyper-velocity orbit. The low-frequency vibration of their rotation was so intense that the surrounding air distorted, warping the visual plane around his torso into a shimmering, bruised violet lens.
"You're running out of ring, kid," Kain said, his voice flat, carrying the mechanical certainty of a man who had calculated every possible permutation of this match. "Your footwork is impressive, and your reaction time is certainly in the upper percentiles. But kinetic energy doesn't care about talent. You cannot touch me, and eventually, you will make a mistake."
Yuzuki stood twenty meters away, his hands loosely tucked into the pockets of his dark trousers, his white hoodie slightly dusty but entirely intact.
To anyone else, Kain's Hatsu was a blur of high-speed energy. To Yuzuki, it was a beautifully simple script. He could see the precise flow of Kain's aura nodes, the exact frequency of the emission compression, and the tiny, microsecond gaps where the rotational spheres swapped axes to maintain their orbital equilibrium.
"It's a nice circle, Kain," Yuzuki said, his lips curving into an arrogant, lazy smirk as he slowly pulled his hands out of his pockets. "Really, it is. The execution is incredibly clean. But you're missing the point of geometry. A perfect circle only exists when the center is stable."
"Arrogant brat," Kain muttered, his brow furrowing as his aura flared. "Phase Two: Elliptical Convergence."
With a sharp flick of Kain's fingers, three of the purple spheres broke their defensive alignment. Instead of firing in a straight line, they shot outward in wide, sweeping arcs, tracing the outer perimeter of the ring before snapping inward toward Yuzuki from three different cardinal directions simultaneously. The velocity was staggering, compressing the air into visible, razor-sharp vacuum rings.
Yuzuki didn't slide back. He stepped directly forward into the convergence.
BOOM!
The three spheres slammed together at the exact coordinate Yuzuki had occupied a millisecond prior, the resulting shockwave tearing a massive, five-meter crater into the reinforced floor. But Yuzuki was already gone. He had vanished from the physical plane, his body appearing directly in front of Kain, his right fist already pulled back in a flawless, traditional martial arts posture.
"Predictable," Kain sneered.
The fourth sphere, which had remained behind as an automated sentinel, instantly shifted its orbital plane to intercept Yuzuki's fist. The sheer density of the compressed emission aura was equivalent to an armored steel plate traveling at hyper-sonic speeds. If Yuzuki's hand made contact, the bones in his forearm would instantly shatter under the kinetic rebound.
But Yuzuki didn't stop. He didn't even deploy Ko to protect his knuckles.
"Infinity," Yuzuki whispered.
CLANG!
The hyper-velocity purple sphere struck an invisible, absolute barrier exactly one inch away from Yuzuki's knuckles. The impact sounded like a massive iron bell ringing through the stadium, a visible ripple of distorted space expanding outward from the point of contact. The sphere didn't bounce off; instead, its immense kinetic energy was arrested entirely, spinning furiously against the invisible wall but unable to bridge the infinitesimal distance to Yuzuki's skin.
Kain's eyes widened in genuine shock. 'What is this? He didn't use Ko... his aura output didn't even spike! The sphere is literally stopping in mid-air!'
"Five seconds," Yuzuki murmured, his bare blue eyes gleaming behind his bandages with a cold, terrifying brilliance. "That's your window."
With a fluid, incredibly swift motion, Yuzuki bypassed the arrested sphere. He drove his left palm straight into Kain's chest, utilizing a perfect martial arts kinetic transfer. The strike wasn't enhanced by a massive burst of Nen, but the raw, anatomical precision of the blow bypassed Kain's ribcage, sending a localized shockwave directly into his sternum.
cough!
Kain gasped, a spray of saliva escaping his lips as he was driven backward by ten meters, his boots cutting deep, parallel trenches into the stone. He managed to keep his footing, his face flushing with a mixture of pain and absolute fury.
"You... what did you do?!" Kain snarled, clutching his chest as his breathing turned ragged.
"A simple spatial paradox," Yuzuki explained lazily, raising his right hand and checking his fingernails. "I brought the concept of infinity into reality. Anything that approaches me simply slows down infinitely, never actually making contact. But, well, it's a bit of an aura hog. I can only keep it up for five seconds at a time. And now... I have to wait fifteen seconds before I can use it again. A bit of a drag, honestly."
Up in the VIP pavilion, Bisky clutched the railing, her jaw dropping slightly. 'He actually explained his restriction to his opponent? No... he's doing it on purpose. He's baiting him! But fifteen seconds without his absolute defense against an Emitter of Kain's caliber is suicide!'
Netero, however, let out a booming, ecstatic laugh, his wooden clogs clicking together. "Ho ho ho! What an incredibly cheeky boy! He's dangling the key to his own lock right in front of the gatekeeper's nose! Show me, child! Show me how you survive the storm!"
Kain's expression twisted into something monstrous. He had been a Floor Master for years, respected and feared for his flawless tactical control. To be treated like a child's plaything by a white-haired rookie was an insult he could not tolerate.
"Fifteen seconds..." Kain hissed, his hands snapping forward as his entire reserve of Nen exploded outward in a massive, purple-tinted cloud. "I don't need fifteen seconds to turn you into red mist! Orbit: Supernova!"
All four spheres returned to his perimeter, but their volume instantly tripled. They began to spin at an astronomical velocity, their orbits expanding until they formed a massive, roaring hurricane of compressed emission energy that covered nearly half of the entire ring. The sheer kinetic friction turned the concrete floor underneath them red-hot, melting the stone into bubbling slag.
"Die!" Kain screamed.
The massive, rotating hurricane of energy expanded outward, engulfing the entire eastern half of the ring where Yuzuki stood. There was nowhere to run, no angle to dodge, and Yuzuki's Infinity was still locked behind its strict cooldown sequence.
Yuzuki's smirk finally faded, replaced by a sharp, calculating focus. Through his Six Eyes, he analyzed the approaching storm. He could see the absolute velocity of the spheres, the sheer density of the kinetic wall, and the exact coordinates where the energy was most volatile.
He dropped into a deep, incredibly stable martial arts stance, his hands forming a highly specific, intricate seal.
"Nen Lapse: Blue," Yuzuki commanded.
A small, high-density point of deep, sapphire-blue aura materialized directly in front of his outstretched index finger. Unlike Kain's compressed emission spheres, which pushed outward with kinetic force, Yuzuki's Blue was an anomaly of negative space. It was a vacuum in the fabric of reality, demanding to be filled.
WHOOOOOOOSH!
The moment Blue activated, an immense, terrifying gravitational pull exploded from the sapphire point. The massive, rotating hurricane of Kain's Supernova was abruptly warped, the outer edges of the purple spheres stretching and tearing as they were violently sucked toward the central gravity well of Yuzuki's anomaly.
"What?!" Kain gasped, his boots sliding forward against his will as the raw, gravitational suction of Blue began to pull his massive frame toward the center of the ring. "He's... he's bending the trajectory of my emission?!"
"The attraction of negative space," Yuzuki muttered, his forehead bead with a light sweat as he maintained the high-level calculation required to keep the anomaly stable. "But it's not quite enough to break your mass, is it?"
The massive gravity well of Blue slammed into the rotating spheres of Supernova. The resulting collision was a chaotic, screeching vortex of violet and blue light, the two opposing spatial forces grinding against each other with enough pressure to shatter the eardrums of the spectators in the first few rows.
Yuzuki's body was driven backward by the sheer atmospheric pressure, his white jacket tearing slightly at the shoulder as a stray shard of compressed emission aura grazed his collarbone, drawing a thin line of crimson blood.
"Ten seconds," Yuzuki whispered, his bare blue eyes tracking the internal cooldown of his mind.
Kain, sensing his opponent's strain, grit his teeth and poured every single drop of his remaining aura into his Hatsu. "I don't care what kind of gravity trick you have! My mass is superior! Crush him!"
The purple spheres, reinforced by Kain's absolute output, began to slowly overpower the vacuum of Blue, the grinding vortex creeping closer and closer to Yuzuki's position. The concrete beneath Yuzuki's boots was cracking, his physical footing slipping as the sheer kinetic pressure threatened to pulverize his bones.
"Twelve seconds," Yuzuki's mind registered. His vision was turning slightly blurry from the sheer, astronomical volume of visual data his Six Eyes were processing. Every microsecond of the fight was a massive equation he had to solve in real-time.
"Thirteen."
"Fourteen."
The massive, roaring purple mass was now mere inches from his face. The heat of the friction was scorching his skin, the smell of burning fabric filling his nose. Kain was laughing now, a wild, victorious sound that echoed over the roar of the crowd.
"It's over, kid! Your time is up!" Kain roared.
"Fifteen," Yuzuki whispered.
His hand snapped open, the intricate seal shifting into a single, extended index finger pointed directly at the center of Kain's approaching storm. The sapphire-blue point of Blue instantly collapsed inward, vanishing into a single, microscopic spark of absolute quiet.
But it didn't stay empty.
"Nen Technique Reversal," Yuzuki spoke, his voice carrying a calm, absolute resonance that seemed to silence the entire stadium. "Red."
In the space of a single microsecond, the negative space of the vacuum was violently flipped into its absolute mathematical opposite. The tiny spark turned from a deep, cold sapphire into a blinding, blood-red sun of pure, concentrated positive force.
Where Blue pulled, Red pushed.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
The explosion of kinetic repulsion was absolute. It wasn't a standard emission blast; it was the violent, instantaneous expansion of space itself. The massive, rotating spheres of Kain's Supernova didn't just shatter. They were physically obliterated, their compressed energy scattering into harmless, microscopic purple dust as the titanic red shockwave tore through them like a hurricane through a paper wall.
Kain's laughter was cut short, replaced by a silent, paralyzed horror as the blinding red wall of absolute force rushed toward him. He didn't even have time to deploy Ken.
The Red shockwave struck him dead-center. His massive frame was launched backward at hyper-sonic velocities, his body cutting through the air like a fired artillery shell. He crashed through the heavy concrete boundary of the ring, through the secondary safety trench, and slammed directly into the reinforced steel-and-concrete wall of the outer stadium structure.
The impact shook the entire eighty-thousand-seat arena, a massive web of cracks spreading outward from the point of impact as Kain remained embedded five feet deep into the wall, completely unconscious, his eyes rolled back and his aura entirely gone.
The stadium went dead silent for three long seconds, the only sound being the soft, rhythmic clicking of Netero's wooden clogs in the VIP box.
The referee, his uniform covered in grey concrete dust, scrambled out of the trench and pointed his hand toward the eastern corner.
"Winner by technical knockout... Yuzuki! He advances to the quarter-finals!"
The silence was instantly shattered by a deafening, hysterical roar from the crowd. The betting screens flashed violently as millions of credits shifted hands in a matter of seconds, the bookies scrambling to recalculate the odds for the remaining matches.
Yuzuki slowly lowered his hand, letting out a long, shuddering breath as his bare blue eyes returned to their normal, relaxed state. He slid his hands back into his pockets, a faint, tired smile returning to his face as he looked toward the VIP box where Bisky was letting out a massive sigh of relief.
"Too close," Yuzuki muttered to himself, turning his back on the ruined stadium wall as he walked down the dark entry tunnel. "I really need to find a way to make those calculations faster."
