Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 12: ACQUIRING A MASTER AND THE SECRET OF THE STAR VOID

Just as Agois was about to resume cultivation, his door suddenly opened. Agois flinched and jumped up, but the person who entered was none other than Elder Senfu, with his white beard and authoritative presence. Elder Senfu hadn't seen Agois for a day, and he was surprised that the brat had already become a Cultivator. Even more surprising was that Agois had reached the peak of the 1st Level of the Silver Realm. He was now even more certain of Agois's talent. In truth, that brat Ren had taken good care of Agois.

Agois immediately bowed respectfully, "Greetings to Elder Fu," he said. After spending some time in the sect, Agois had noticed the prestige and power of Elder Fu. Even the stern 7th Elder showed respect to Elder Fu. Elder Senfu could not be an ordinary Elder.

Elder Senfu immediately waved his hand, "I told you there's no need for such formalities," he said, though he was pleased.

He immediately asked Agois if he had encountered any issues with the sect or with his cultivation. "Little brat, if you have any questions about the sect, ask them first, and then you can ask if you have any problems with cultivation," he said gently.

Agois was delighted; he had just encountered a bottleneck and was curious about the sect's hierarchy, including the power and rankings of the Elders. He immediately asked.

"Elder Senfu, why do some Elders in the sect have numbers, such as the 7th Elder and 13th Elder, while others are only addressed as 'Elder'?" he asked curiously.

Elder Senfu stroked his beard and patiently explained, "In the sect, the most powerful and resourceful Elders who control authority in the Inner Sect are numbered from the 13th Elder up to the 1st Elder. These are the most supreme Elders of the Inner Sect. Then come the unnumbered, non-ranking Elders. They are more like the military branch of the sect; they mostly deal with external matters and fighting for resources, so think of them that way," Elder Senfu continued.

Agois now understood. He better understood the reputation, power, and talent of Elder Ren; even the 13th Elder would have to show him respect.

"What about Elder Ren?" Agois continued.

Hearing this, even Elder Senfu was filled with admiration. "That brat Ren was the most talented student in the Inner Sect. It wasn't just his talent; that brat also possessed one of the legendary bodies: a body called the 'Seven Breaths of Fire'," he continued.

Hearing this, Agois was hearing about legendary bodies for the first time, and it was impressive that Elder Ren possessed one of them. Agois now understood the respectful attitude of the other Elders towards Elder Ren.

Elder Senfu looked at Agois's excited and admiring expression, understanding what he was thinking, but he also knew that Agois was hearing about legendary bodies for the first time. Therefore, he explained a little more: "Legendary bodies are natural and innate. They are as decisive as talent and are not something acquired later. Or rather, I have never heard of such a thing during my long life. And the possessors of natural bodies can gain unique advantages. Some bodies allow for rapid cultivation, some help overcome bottlenecks, and some increase comprehension. In short, these legendary bodies provide great support to a person on their cultivation journey." Elder Senfu waited for Agois to digest all of this.

He added, "Don't be upset because you don't have such a body, child. Don't think that powerful Cultivators in this world rise only through talent. Talent provides an advantage until the Saint Realm. After that, it is not a wall you can overcome with talent alone; it requires genius comprehension, great perseverance, determination, and luck. As far as I can see, luck is not lacking in you; didn't you escape those barren lands thanks to luck? And your determination is strong, and your talent is not bad either. So, never be disappointed, and don't let your self-confidence be shattered, brat," he said, giving Agois motivation.

Listening to all this, Agois gained some understanding of legendary bodies. As he listened, a great possibility suddenly came to his mind that shocked him: Could his Star Void also be a legendary body? But he was still undecided; he had noticed this body even before becoming a Cultivator, wasn't that a bit ridiculous? There was an inconsistency. Well, this was not something he could solve yet. In fact, the effect of the Star Void was something beyond a typical legendary body.

Agois understood most things, but he thought, Shouldn't Elder Senfu be the number one Elder? And he asked, "Thank you for informing me, Elder Fu, you truly enlightened me on many matters. I have one more thing I am curious about; are you a ranked Elder?" he asked with embarrassment.

Hearing this, Elder Fu remembered a bitter memory and with a pathetic smile said, "I am a retired Elder, you could say. I still work in the external resources section to continue contributing to the sect," he said with a somewhat mournful expression. His eyes drifted thoughtfully into the distance.

Agois was a smart boy. He had seen the respect felt for Elder Fu in the sect; even Elder Ren, whom the other Elders respected, held great respect for Elder Fu. So, Elder Fu could not be an ordinary Elder, and something had happened in the past, he could tell from Elder Fu's expression. But he didn't ask anything; sometimes, you must know where to stop. He was just a child who had newly joined the sect, and these matters were far too distant for him. He immediately decided to ask about the bottleneck problem to dispel the gloomy atmosphere.

"Elder Fu, when I first started cultivating today, I reached the peak of the 1st Level of the Silver Realm. After that, no matter how much I cultivated, a wall appeared in front of me; I cannot advance further. I think I have encountered the so-called bottleneck. I seek your guidance on how to overcome it," he said with respect and excitement.

Hearing this, Elder Senfu immediately dispelled his mournful expression. He looked at Agois with interest. "Little brat, you are very impatient and presumptuous. You only started cultivating today, impressively reaching the peak of the first meridian, and you still want to immediately break through the 2nd meridian and reach the 2nd level of the Silver Realm," he smiled mockingly and continued.

"It's normal to enter a bottleneck. Some bottlenecks take years, some months. Don't worry about it, just continue cultivating with perseverance and patience. You are already complaining about a bottleneck on the first day, huh?" Hahaha! Elder Senfu burst out laughing. No matter how mature Agois often looked and how intelligent he was, he was still a child and possessed the impatience and haste of a child. This brat had a long way to go.

Hearing this, Agois felt embarrassed; he truly hadn't considered it from that angle.

But today, that brat Ren had come to visit him, trying to steal the brat he had found to make him his student. He was angry; he intended to make Agois his student. Agois's talent was high, though not monstrous, but his character and intelligence made him valuable. That's why he considered Agois as his student, and that brat Ren wanted someone he had chosen. He was thinking of asking Agois now.

"Ahem, ahem." He coughed slightly, becoming serious, and looking at Agois, said, "I won't beat around the bush. Will you accept me as your Master? Even if I am not what I used to be, I still have some influence and authority in this sect," he explained proudly to Agois.

Hearing this, Agois was surprised. Elder Fu had brought him to the sect, but he hadn't expected him to take him as a student. He was very happy; he felt close to Elder Fu because he was the one who brought him to the sect.

He immediately knelt, "Disciple offers respects to Master," he said respectfully.

Seeing this, Elder Senfu's old heart warmed; he had a student after many long years. A gentle force slowly lifted Agois. Looking up, Agois saw Elder Senfu's warm face. Elder Senfu looked at Agois and gave him a lesson, "I told you that such things are not necessary, brat. Are you not taking me seriously anymore? You are my only student, there is no need for such things."

He took a box out of his ring and placed it on the table, continuing, "Alright, that's enough for today. For now, you have learned a bit about the sect. Don't rush with cultivation; continue with a calm mind and patience. The box contains Nel Energy Nourishing Elixirs. Continue by taking one a day. There is also my token inside; it's proof that you are now my student. My location is in the Elder's Courtyard Complex, on the top of the mountain. If you have any problems with cultivation, you can come to me. I will be gone for a month on a mission. You work hard until the new students arrive," he instructed. And then he left.

Agois was excited; he now had support, and his Master had given him nourishing elixirs. He was already benefiting from them. He immediately opened the box; inside were small bottles of bright blue elixirs, close to 40 in number. Agois took one out, took his stance, then opened it and drank it all in one go. It had an exotic taste, and suddenly, his meridian was filling with energy in an energy burst. Agois plunged into meditation that night.

When he opened his eyes the next day, he understood how mystical cultivation felt; it had felt as if only 10 minutes had passed, but an entire night had gone by. His perception of time seemed distorted while cultivating.

Agois immediately sensed his first meridian. Although his energy hadn't increased and was still at the peak, the quality of his energy had strengthened; his energy had become more potent. This gave him a sense of satisfaction.

He immediately got up, took a shower, and freshened up. Then he left his courtyard and walked around the sect a bit. He remembered that he still didn't have a spiritual artifact. He planned to ask his Master about this later; he now had a Master. He figured his Master would announce taking him as a student after a month. As Agois walked towards the dining hall, he saw Plump Lou with a girl and another young man. The girl was pretty, not bad, and the boy was decent too.

Plump Lou also saw Agois and immediately waved, "Little Brother Agois, over here!" he called. Agois went over there, "Greetings Senior Brother Lou, Senior Sister, and Senior Brother," greeting Plump Lou and those next to him. The girl next to the plump youth immediately looked at Agois with interest, "Who is this sweet and handsome little brother?" she asked the plump youth.

Plump Lou replied, "Our new little brother who just joined the sect. Elder Fu brought him."

They were surprised at first, then understood. New disciples hadn't arrived yet, so they hadn't understood his arrival, but Elder Fu bringing him made sense now.

Plump Lou immediately introduced his friends to Agois. "This Senior Sister's name is Yu Lan. And this brother's name is Fude." Agois nodded, "Senior Sister Yu and Senior Brother Fude, pleased to meet you."

Yu Lan said, "Calling me Senior Sister is so sweet, little brother," narrowing her eyes and smiling.

Fude, on the other hand, said, "Little brother, you were going to the dining hall too, weren't you? Let's go together."

They went to the dining hall together. Yu Lan and Fude were used to the plump youth eating a lot, but this little brother was not far behind the plump youth in gluttony.

Yu Lan immediately said with a sweet, worried expression, "Little brother, you shouldn't eat too much. You are so sweet and handsome, don't emulate this plump one and become like him," she said quickly.

Fude, on the other hand, didn't mind; anyone could do what they wanted.

Agois was slightly embarrassed, blushing. His habit of eating a lot stemmed from his poor background. Also, he quickly burned what he ate due to his habit of physical training since childhood from his father. He didn't answer Yu Lan and changed the subject.

"Senior Brothers and Sister, could you tell me about the sect's missions? Which missions do you do, and what types of missions are there?" he asked. He couldn't always rely on his Master and the sect; he had always learned to rely on himself. So, he needed to earn money at some point, and learning about it now would be good for preparation.

Hearing this, the plump youth began to explain without giving others a chance to speak, "The sect's missions will be explained to you and the newcomers after the official entrance ceremony next month, but if you want to know beforehand, your Senior Brother can tell you," he said boastfully.

Hearing the plump youth boast, Yu Lan interjected dismissively, "It's not like you're doing something so great, Plump one! You eat your food, your Senior Sister will tell him," she said immediately.

Fude smiled mockingly; he knew Yu Lan's temperament and said nothing, enjoying his meal.

Plump Lou's face darkened; it was as if his charisma had been chipped, and he almost choked on his food.

Yu Lan began to explain, "There are various missions: Continuous Missions and Short-Term Missions. They all have different goals. For example, continuous missions include things like managing the Herb Garden, then caring for Spiritual Beasts, and then working in the kitchen. As for the others: Hunting Demonic Beasts, finding valuable herbs, finding valuable materials, rescuing people, or participating in resource struggles. They all have different purposes and value. We just returned from a dangerous mission, and for now, we are focusing on our cultivation."

Agois said, "Thank you, beautiful Senior Sister Yu Lan, for enlightening me." Agois did not forget to compliment her; women liked compliments. He understood from Senior Sister Yu's words that if he wanted to earn well, dangerous missions were essential, and he needed to prepare himself accordingly.

After eating their meals, the group dispersed; everyone was busy. Agois, especially, hadn't practiced any martial arts yet. He needed to practice and fully comprehend them; he couldn't neglect his cultivation. Agois quickly went home.

In his courtyard garden, Agois held the Fire Arrow skill, trying to understand it better. It wasn't complicated, but it was Agois's first contact with a martial art. Something suddenly came to Agois's mind; he calmed his mind and entered the Star Void. He tried to comprehend the martial skill there too, just to test if there was any effect.

After a while, Agois was very excited; comprehending the skill there was truly much, much more effective. It was 4 times more effective than practicing outside! Agois was overjoyed; the Star Void was truly miraculous. He couldn't tell anyone about this, not even his Master. He immediately calmed his excitement and began comprehending the skill.

About 2 hours later, Agois opened his eyes; a dense arrow made of fire was floating in front of him. Seeing this, he was very happy; he had finally managed to execute the skill. As far as he knew, his comprehension of the skill had now reached the Initial Stage. This was the basic level for successfully executing the skill. After this was the Deep Stage (which meant a deep understanding of the skill). There were levels beyond that, but Agois only knew up to here for now; his Master had explained this much.

In this way, Agois's first week passed by comprehending the Fire Arrow skill. In the 2nd week, he comprehended the Water Flow Movement Skill. In the 3rd week, he comprehended the defensive technique Barricade. In the 4th week, he had advanced his comprehension of the martial arts, and the barrier in front of the 2nd Meridian had begun to break due to his determined and persistent effort.

Thus, a month had passed.
