Chapter 27 - The Shadow

As the group settled in for the night, they couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched.

Unbeknownst to them, a pair of piercing eyes had been observing them from the shadows.

The eyes belonged to a mysterious figure, cloaked in darkness. It has been tracking the group for some time, its interest piqued by the group's bravery and determination.

The figure moved silently, its presence undetectable as it watched the group sleep. It seemed to be studying them, trying to understand their motivations and weaknesses.

As the night wore on, the figure's gaze settled on Eris. It seemed particularly interested in her, its eyes lingering on her face as if searching for something.

Suddenly, the figure vanished, leaving behind only the faintest hint of darkness. But the feeling of being watched lingered, and Eris stirred in her sleep, sensing that they were not alone.

It was morning and it was time for them to continue their journey they got on their horses and headed for the Azov kingdom on their way Ares started a conversation "Did you guy sense it last night"he asked "yes and this time it was closer" Haphaestus said and crimson nodded in agreement"It's as if we're being stalked by a sensible person" Eris said "it's definitely not a demon cause demons are not patient to keep on following us and they are not smart enough to stay hidden for a long time" Ares said "We need to be more careful and Alert" he added unbeknown to them yet, The figure watching the group from the shadows was none other than Aaron, Isabelle's older brother. He was a dark fae, with powers and abilities that were beyond those of mortal men. Aaron's eyes gleamed with interest as he watched the group, his mind working overtime to understand their motivations and weaknesses.

As he observed them, Aaron's thoughts turned to his sister. He had been keeping an eye on her for some time, watching as she had grown stronger and more skilled. He had been proud of her, in a way, he never wanted their brother to hurt her but before he could have done anything to help her he found out their brother locked her up,He didn't know how to reveal himself to her,he feels guilty that he couldn't fight for her when she needed him and when he thought he could make it up for their family he couldn't protect their younger brother Artoras who was sacrificed by Roman,he can't show his face to Isabelle he failed her and Artoras.

Aaron's gaze lingered on Eris, and a hint of curiosity flickered across his face. Who was this young warrior, and what was her connection to his sister? He would continue to watch them, for now, and wait for the right time to show his face he couldn't let Isabelle confront Roman alone and now he knows Roman isn't the real treat he is being manipulated by the Khragixx.

The Khragixx promised him unimaginable powers and he should bring faes as sacrifice for him to unleash the power to him that's why he sacrificed Artoras and the Khragixx gave him powers to summon demons, those demons are the Khragixx minions,he has to stop his brother from freeing the Khragixx.

With a final glance at the group, Aaron vanished, leaving behind only the faintest whisper of his presence. The group remained unaware of the dark fae's presence, but Isabelle felt a sudden chill run down her spine. She couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her, and she wondered if she would ever be able to escape her family's dark legacy. She glanced around, but saw nothing.

Still, the feeling persisted.

"Is everything okay, Izzy?" Eris asked, noticing her friend's unease.

Isabelle hesitated, unsure of how to explain the feeling. "I don't know," she said finally. "I just feel like we're being watched."

Eris's eyes scanned their surroundings, but she saw nothing out of the ordinary. "We'll keep an eye out," she said reassuringly.

Aaron was in the shadows watching he knows they can sense him but they don't know what he was.

The group continued going and after a long time they saw a huge hill and decided to take a rest there"let's rest for a while"Ares told them and they all agreed, while they were resting Ares walked away scouting the area he walked around for a while and when he was a far distance from the other he stopped.

"I know you're here, come out" he said firmly and threat fully and Aaron majestically stepped out of the darkness his dark wings looked magnificent his eyes were green and beautiful he looked like he wasn't real.

"Why are you following us and what do you want dark fae,"Ares declared demanding answers".

"I'm watching over my sister, I can't let our brother find out she has escaped from where he trapped her,he'll sacrifice her also," Aaron said with all honesty. The memory of those three years still haunted him. Isabelle's capture, her suffering, and the pain she endured at Roman's hands... it all still felt like an open wound. And then there was their younger brother, Artoras who had been manipulated and turned into a puppet and later sacrificed.Roman had taken away their siblings' freedom, innocence, and even murdered one and Aaron would never forgive him for that.
