we arrived at the carousel, paid the ticket and got in but professor. Ashleigh was very reluctant at first saying its only for children. "oh come on its not that bad, just enjoy it"
The professor laughs awkwardly as the horses move up and down.
"I cannot believe you talked me into this."
" well You're smiling Professor, seems like you're enjoying it
"...Am I?"
This is the first genuine laugh i've ever heard from her. After riding the horses, our next stop was the cotton candy stand. I bought some candy, handed her one and took a bite from mine but she looked at me and the cotton candy strangely
"This is... food?" she asked. "yes it is, kinda, just try it first" i urged her.
She tears off a tiny piece, It melts instantly and She blinks in surprise. i laughed so hard that i almost dropped my candy and she pretends to be offended.
"come on, lets go to the haunted house" i pulled her again
we finally went in, after professor. Ashleigh constant remark that nothing scares her, but five seconds later, something jumps out and she instinctively grabbed my wrist, i chuckled lightly. and that how she held my wrist until we came out from the haunted house.
"I'm tired miss brook. i dont think i can go on anymore" she said bending over and putting her hands on her knees.
"oh come on dont be a bummer, we just started having fun or are you that old" i teased and i immediately got a death glare from her. "ok fine lets just go on the ferris wheel then we'll head home" i got a quite glare from her. "i promise its peaceful" i assured her and she finally agreed.
As the wheel reaches the top, everything becomes quite as the city glows below. "I've spent so much of my life working that I forgot people do things like this." professor. Ashleigh spoke. "then we'll make up for the lost time" i said giving her a warm smile while caressing her hand. she looked at me for a while then smiled back, neither of us said anything anymore, we just enjoyed the view for the silence says enough.
After the ride, we went to the parking lot so we drive back home, thats when the firework started. we instinctive paused and turned to watch it together, our shoulders brushing slightly. "thank you for today" she said catching me off guard. "anytime professor" i winked at her. i rode in her car as she offered to take me home since kiara took the car home already and i agreed.
