Matthew Mccallis found Ludger to be quite an odd persona, indeed, he was quite strange, anyone with two eyes on their little head could clearly see he was lying about that accident.
A car accident is an accident.
Don't not know about you, but Matthew do not punch cars, people don't punch cars. unless they really are into street fighter he guess.
He doubted Ludger was the kind of person into video games however, he did not have the build for it.
He may be wrong however.
Glancing toward the sweaty form of Ludger practicing with the inventory Matthew felt that his opinion on Ludger was confirmed.
What kind of average gamer would get transported into a real fucking tutorial while he was fighting? Then proceed to lie about said fight, brutally murder 4 green monster like a straight up devil coming from hell itself, before breaking down over the corpse of one of his killed enemy?
That was unslightly for sure, but it was still impressive. He can see the potential.
Did he knew how long he was just kneeling there? Heaving like a dying man? It was for straight up minutes!
But that's where it becomes truly impressive.
After heaving, he just proceed to ignore it, and train for what now? One hour and a half? While being injured, covered in blood from head to toe, and without any food or water closeby, or anywhere in sight really.
Yes, this is not a normal person.
Matthew was sure of it.
He wouldn't be able to recover that fast after heaving for minutes. Just standing up and acting like nothing happened does show a certain willingness.
Matthew did train too, of course, it sounded like quite the logical course to get used to the difference in weight from the usual swords he wielded.
But he only did it for a dozen of minutes, twenty minutes maximum, not almost two fucking hours!
For a reason or another, the first time he met ludger, he felt a bit...hostile, no, that's not the right word, scared, yes it was a bit of fear, waryness may be a better word to describe his previous mental state.
Unslightly to admit, but it is the truth.
He did not know why, it is not because he was bigger, Matthew would never be wary because of that.
He is a Mccallis after all.
Neither was the blood the cause. Before the goblins, he simply looked like a big youth that just came out of a fight.
No, it almost felt natural, with no good, nor any logical cause to point toward, like an instinct that told him that this man was just a tiny tiny bit scary, it made him a bit hostile.
Well, that was before Ludger proved himself unable to pick on sarcasm, what even was that?
A thanks you? Tsk, it left a bad...no, not a bad taste, a strange taste in his mouth, he wasn't used to such things.
Looking at the training Ludger, Matthew rolled his shoulder again, sagely he decided that he would ignore the fact that he probably would be meat paste against the wall if Ludger didn't screamed at him to move.
He then looked at the girls, pretty useless, between the one that can't shoot a bow, or the shaking one that want him to have cleaning magic, he did not know why Ludger did congratulate them on their fight.
Looks like he was not the only one beneficiating from Ludger....kindn-! Strangeness.
Let us not compliment anyone and everyone.
Matthew however resonated than someone that save your life is not just anyone, but old habits die hard.
And the best mental compliment he could say is that out of everyone in this room.
Ludger is the only one worth his time...
Well that old man is respectable too but nothing more.

Annie was messing with her inventory, a lot, she did not stopped when her stomach growled, or when Ludger asked her to do that, she started before, and she continued after.
She almost died.
Distracting herself from her thoughts, Annie remembered her hopelessness when she missed the goblin.
Would she have missed if she didn't pointed her weapon that clearly toward this bastard?
Would it have been better if her weapon was invisible all along?
Her daggers appear in existence just above her belly button, it was hard but she did it, she'll need to tell Ludger about it.
A quick glance at him made it clear that he would keep training for a while, was he distracting himself? It was her idea to not let Ludger not clean the puked covered corpse, he really really really didn't look well after fighting, like his entire fucking world was breaking apart for a second time.
His expression, she didn't think she'd see any human wearing it, there was something deep in her human mind that just....just, it, it's like when you hear the sound of a grown man fucking cry in distress..
Not something you should hear.
It felt a bit like that.
Getting out of her head, she looked at the others of her merry group, she will need to work extra hard to make them all stick together!
Especially Malfoy, Ha! She stole that nickname, and she don't regret it.
He's a bit rough around the edge but she's sure he'll calm down soon, especially around Ludger, he didn't even want to clean the corpses at the start, but when ludger mentioned it, he proceeded to take a whole one alone.
Don't really know why he's less of an asshole with Ludger, but she have two to three guesses.
A glance at balrow reassured her, she don't need to work hard on him! Just a bit of nudging toward speaking a bit more and bonding will be natural!
She could hear the sound of Jenna's bowstring slapping into place.
Jenna, is just a harder version of balrow, she have good intentions for sure, but damn, she just sweat anxiousness at everything she do. Let's build her confidence! And let's make the group more familiar so she can speak her mind comfortably too!
And for Ludger, well, let's just let him rest...if training can be considered as rest, for now.
///////////
Jenna draw her string for the...she don't know, how many times.
Her chubby fingers bloody, she stopped letting the string snap for now, in fear of hurting herself more at each of her failure, again, she's used to failures.
She can cope with that, she always did, she's a fucking failure and she know that. But this, this, if the world is changing into a video game, then she's changing too!
She can't fucking let a kid do all the fucking work! Her muscles fail her, like they always do, and the string slap against her fingers painfully, she barely take the time to shake them before she go back to the grind, she'll grind those fucking numbers up, this she know how to do.
How old even is he? He's clearly a kid, that's sure, a giant kid but still, is he even eighteen?
The string fail again and without hesitation she draw it again.
Fuck her baby brother should be nineteen soon too, and she clearly wouldn't let him go through that.
If you do one useful thing in your fucking life, do it now, the kid is training like a maniac right fucking now after straight up carrying this team, you better not stop moving those useless fingers again, she better land those fucking arrows.
The string fail again.
But what if she don't? What if she don't and fail again?
She always do it, that's not really a secret is it?
Whether in her family or at work, you're a cashier wake up bitch.
Online, that's a secret, but that's not really something to be proud of, your teamates are dragging a useless shit like you. And that fucking kid even said that you did a good job just after, and you dare to be reassured?
You dare to let that fucking kid do all the work and stay behind like those fuckers did!? How old are you bitch!? Twelve? You're almost forty act like it loser.
She draw the bow as far as she can.
The string held.

He counted.
One hour may be a bit much for the boy, but it may just do him good.
One hour and fourty-nine minutes, two hours will do.
Balrow got up and walked toward malfoy "Are you ready?" the boy answered "Always" He nod, good.
He walked toward Annie "Are you ready?" "Huh? Ah, yes, I'm ready to go" he nod, good.
He walked toward Jenna "Are you ready?" "Yea, yeah I am" he nod, good.
Balrow sat again.
At two hours, he got up and approached Ludger.
