Sandy's POV
"Did you have to phrase it that way?" His laugh rumbled through his chest, the vibration pressing against me.
I managed a smile in return. But underneath, pain twisted through my heart like a knife.
I pushed that ache aside and pulled myself up again. My mouth found his, and lightning seemed to crack behind my closed eyelids.
This kiss was different. Starved. Frantic. Almost fierce. My fingers dug into his shoulders, dragging him closer, refusing to release him.
His breathing turned ragged and unsteady, like he was battling some internal war.
I pressed against him, seizing command in a way I had never dared before, my body done waiting for his approval.
His gaze grew stormy, caught between fighting back and giving in, but the moment I pushed harder, his resistance crumbled.
A raw sound tore from his throat as his hold grew fierce.
