Chapter 3 - The war for the lake

Watching Primo get beaten up, slowly losing pieces, without managing to hit the rabbit even once, Adam overclocked his brain to find a way to help his poor golem and save his skin from an unglorious death.

The problem was that he was pretty confident in hand-to-hand combat, but not against a giant rabbit where the slightest blow meant the end. He was clearly not as strong as Primo. Ranged combat was a much better plan, but he didn't have any ranged weapons at hand, not even a stone to throw.

'ENERGY!

But yes, if I need a weapon, I can create one now. The simplest spear possible, just sharp and sturdy, nothing more needed.' Irritated that he hadn't thought of it sooner, he quickly set about creating the spear.

'Hang in there, Primo, reinforcements are on the way!'

A simple stone spear slowly appeared from Adam's hand. He was focused, staring at his hand, his heart pounding, not daring to relax for fear of creating something useless and wasting time and energy. Primo wasn't going to hold it forever.

As soon as he finished molding the spear, he grabbed it with one hand, fixing his gaze on the fight, waiting for the right moment, the precise instant when the rabbit couldn't dodge the weapon.

"Not now... Soon... THERE! Catch that, asshole!" Using his rage and fear, Adam threw the spear with all his might just as the rabbit landed on its paws after an attack.

Slicing through the air at full speed, the spear violently pierced the rabbit's left leg, unaware of the attack coming from behind him.

"SQUEAK!!!" Screaming in pain, the rabbit froze in place, its leg completely pierced by the spear.

Taking advantage of the respite, Primo threw himself on top of the rabbit with all his weight, knocking it to the ground. Mounting the rabbit on the ground, Primo rained a barrage of blows down on his face.

"SLAUGHTER IT, PRIMO!!! PRIMO, USE BEAT HIS ASS!!" Jumping up and down like a cheerleader, Adam encouraged Primo with all his might.

Unable to defend itself from Primo's weight and losing more and more blood, the rabbit quickly fell unconscious. Primo, in his simple-mindedness, continued to smash him, determined to turn him into rabbit pancakes on the spot.

"Primo, stop! Stop! That's enough, he's fine like that, just hold him down!" Adam quickly moved forward, shouting at Primo, afraid that he would turn the rabbit into an inedible messock .

Slowly creating a rock knife in his hand, Adam approached the rabbit's neck and, with great effort, slipped the blade in, causing a large amount of blood to spurt out.

Now all that was left was to gut and skin it, and tonight, rabbit was on the menu. It will be a lot of work without good quality tools, but at least having something to eat is a good situation in a survival game.

Smiling with pride at this first battle won without any losses, Adam contemplated Primo, who had lost a lot of weight (rock) and had a well-sculpted (hollowed out) torso.

"This rabbit headbutt diet has made you lose a lot of weight, buddy. Look at you, you're clearly skinny as a rail. Let me help you regain some muscle." Adam laughed.

Reaching out to place his hand on Primo's head, he injected him with earth and life energy. The more energy flowed into Primo, the more he regained his pre-bunny piñata shape.

"Much better that way, with strong muscles to take strong hit."

Happy with this first victory, but noticing that the sun was beginning to set low in the sky, Adam knew they had to start building some sort of shelter for the night. Sleeping under the stars didn't seem like a good idea.

Deciding to settle just under the tree beside the water, he had Primo drag the rabbit's body over, and began by cleaning and preparing the rabbit so that he could recover as much energy as possible during that time.

...

An hour later...

Adam had finished preparing the rabbit and estimated that he had recovered a good quarter of his energy reserves. It was now time to build his first base.

To save energy, he planned to keep it simple: a simple rock tent made of two pieces of rock balanced against each other like a house of cards, a third to fill the gap at the back, and a fourth to slide in at the front to close it all up. Not exactly a dream palace, but just enough for a human and a Primo to sleep in.

With a quick calculation, Adam divided his energy into four parts so that he could create four rock slabs that were as solid as possible, while leaving himself a minimum amount of energy so that he wouldn't have to test what it would be like to drain his energy reserves completely.

...

20 minutes later...

A small rock tent had appeared under the tree, its front opening facing the lake. It wasn't very solid, but a roof to sleep under was better than nothing.

"Primo, this is our first home. We'll have to squeeze in and you'll have to stay up all night, but what can you do? The beginning is always hard. And now I'm getting hungry, so it's time for a barbecue."

Rubbing his stomach, Adam headed towards the tree where he broke off a few branches to make a fire.

He gathered the branches and then, with Primo's help, dug a small, shallow hole in front of the tent, just so they wouldn't set the whole field on fire by lighting a fire directly on the grass.

Rubbing the two sticks together with the little grass he had collected while digging the hole, Adam quickly made a fire that burned quickly. With the fire ready, it was now time to grill the meat. Using the spear he had taken from the rabbit's leg, he used it as a simple stick to create a meat skewer, which he held over the fire.

"And now, Primo, we wait peacefully for the meat to cook. We just have to turn it over from time to time for a nice, uniform cook. We don't want one side burnt and the other barely cooked. Lack some seasoning, but hey, I don't have any spices in my pocket, and you're a living rock, not a living block of salt." Watching the meat slowly grill, the calm lake, and the boundless nature, Adam found himself in peace at that moment. For a universal survival game, it was pretty cool for the moment.
