Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Akasha of The Void - Chapter 3

[3rd POV]

Yggdrasil's Realm

On the morning of the second day, Akasha emerged from a cabin that Yggdrasil had made for him to stay in while he was in her realm for the foreseeable future.

When he stepped out into the forest opening, he was wearing a new set of clothes. A red top and some white shorts. It was safe to say Yggdrasil didn't have the best sense of fashion outside of the flower dresses she makes for her avatar. Akasha also had long, flowing waist-length blond hair and sky blue eyes. His hair, specifically the hair on his scalp, was the only thing about him that kept growing while in the void. Akasha also stood at 6 '1 and had an athletic build that he is quite proud of and happy he kept while in the void.

After taking a look at the illusion of the sun within the realm, Akasha met with Yggdrasil's avatar, as today would be the start of Yggdrasil teaching Akasha control.

Both agreed to do this as fast as possible so Akasha doesn't accidentally erase something, or worse, someone.

Yggdrasil was in the same flower dress she was when she met Akasha. She smiled at him, "Are you ready to begin your training?"

"Yep." He nodded.

With his confirmation, Yggdrasil led him to an open area away from his cabin, and Akasha witnessed a massive arena being constructed in an instant from branches, leaves, dirt and grass.

The arena walls moulded to allow them passage into it. Akasha and Yggdrasil walked through the long tunnel, with the light at the end getting closer with each step. Along the way, Yggdrasil explained some basics of what they would be focusing on today.

"Today I will try and get you to consciously use that energy of yours, or at the very least to feel it. I don't expect much progress, but I made this arena just in case. There's a reason the walls are this thick.

I'm running a minuscule amount of my energy through the walls just in case you have an uncontrolled burst of energy." She finished and looked over her shoulder to Akasha, who gave her a nod.

Once they exited the tunnel, Akasha could see an arena that would put the Roman colosseum to shame; it was at least five times the size, and that isn't even counting the thickness of the walls, which were at least hundreds of meters thick.

"Akasha." Yggdrasil got his attention. She then pointed at a spot in the middle of the arena floor. "Sit cross-legged here and we'll begin."

"Sure." Akasha agreed and did as she instructed.

Yggdrasil's form glowed golden, and with a pulse, the energy exploded into the ground, and a moment later, the entire arena had a gold shimmer to it. A precaution she NEEDED to take. And even that might not be enough.

Akasha looked in wonder before giving Yggdrasil a wry smile, finally grasping the weight of his power. For a world tree like her to do this, to reinforce the whole arena to the point Niðhöggr wouldn't even be able to make a single scratch on it, even with all his power.

"Now," She said, "Close your eyes."

Akasha took a deep breath before slowly closing his eyes, his world going dark, only Yggdrasil's voice reaching him. "Good, now I'll do the same thing I did for Niðhöggr. Don't look within your body, look within your soul."

Akasha frowned for a moment, not getting what she meant, but either way, he tried to look within his…soul. The feeling of doing that was strange; he didn't know what he was exactly trying to do, but he just kept trying.

He was thinking of anything he could remember about looking within the soul; it was a concept so foreign to him that he had no other clue what to do but just do it.

"Wow, you got that pretty fast. Just keep doing that, and you will feel it soon." Yggdrasil said.

Akasha raised a brow. He wasn't feeling anything himself, but if Yggdrasil said it was working, it must be, so he just kept trying.

Thirty seconds passed, and Akasha still felt nothing. He was about to ask for some advice, but then he felt it. No, it would be better to say he saw it, despite his eyes being closed, his vision was white.

Unknown to him, his body was covered in a veil of white energy that was threatening to erase everything around it; only Yggdrasil's own energy was preventing it.

Seeing his state, Yggdrasil said nothing more, letting him do what he must while she focuses on keeping his energy from expanding.

[1st POV Akasha]

His Soul

It was but a moment, but after I finally "looked" inward, I found myself standing.

A pure white void stretching endlessly in any direction, it reminded me of that hellhole, but I felt strangely comfortable here, kind of like I was home. 'Is this because I'm in my own soul?' I thought, but I heard it echo all around me.

It was then, as if triggered by my thoughts, that the white void started to bend and stutter.

And before my very eyes, something was being created.

'A library?' I think when I see books fade into existence, shelves form, aisles, and even labels for the aisles.

At the centre of it all was a desk with an old school computer flashing. I walked forward, glancing at the aisles I could see along the way. I almost stopped a few times to browse, but the flashing computer seemed to be the best course of action.

So I continued forward, unaware of what was happening outside.

[3rd POV]

Yggdrasil's Realm

At first, Yggdrasil was confident in holding Akasha's energy back. Even right now, she was only using 0.5% of her total energy to hold it back, but that is not to be underestimated; her reserves keep the whole planet alive, the barrier against the Gap, and even the planet itself from being harmed by internal and external threats. 0.5% of her reserves would render even Sirzechs himself helpless, though that number jumps up to 1.5% when he uses that destruction form of his.

But even Yggdrasil started to sweat (figuratively) when Akasha's energy started to expand, his output nearly tripled, and even the fundamental power of that energy started to grow.

And even Yggdrasil was starting to get concerned; it had only been a few minutes, and Akasha's power just kept growing. If this continued, she might even need her true form to handle this.

'Let's hope it doesn't come to that,' She thought before increasing her own output to match his growing one.

[1st POV Akasha]

His Soul

Now standing in front of the old CRT screen, I could see what it was displaying.

[Welcome, Akasha, to your Archive]

And under it was a search bar. 'Is this an archive of my memories?' Curiously, I use the mouse to click on the search bar and type in my name. What came up was both expected and unexpected.

First were the basic details.

[Akasha Solara]

Parent/s: [Andre Solara], [Iris Solara]

Sibling/s: [Jessica Solara], [Alice Solara], [Courtney Solara]

Race: [Human]

This was about what I expected. But what I did not expect was the next part.

[Age (Soul): 158,942,635,223]

[Age (Body): 19]

'Maybe I spent longer there than I thought. But I guess with all the times I lost count and restarted, it falls within reason. But still, 158 billion years old is ummm… Concerning, to say the least.' I didn't know what to make of it in the end, so I just continued trying new things.

I checked Yggdrasil next.

[Yggdrasil]

Parent/s: [???]

Sibling/s: [Qlipoth, Sephiroth, Inversion]

'Okay, I did not know that… but if that was the case, then why does it even show up here? Isn't this an archive of my memories?' Unable to get an instant answer, I kept going.

Race: [World Tree]

[Age (Soul & Body): 4,752,992,623]

'That is way too specific, even for me. For myself, it makes sense because I spent that time there, but I just don't consciously remember it.

…I'm starting to think this might not be a memory archive.' I wasn't 100% on the idea, but with just that alone, doubts started to form. Whether this was a good thing or not is to be seen.

At the moment, however, I remembered why I came here, 'I got distracted, I should be searching for a way to use that energy.' My eyes then set on the screen, 'Maybe…'

I type in [Energy]. What pops up according to the computer are thousands of different types of energy. 'Maybe I should be a bit more specific.'

[Erasure Energy].

Nothing.

[End Energy].

Also nothing.

[Primordial Energy] 'Wait, that's what Yggdrasil uses.'

[Void Energy] 'I did call it an infinite white void. And a void can be like erasing something, right?'

When I pressed enter, only one result popped up matching that description. 'I guess I was right.'

I clicked on it, and it was like opening an entire wiki page. Pages and pages of descriptions, examples, and even images of the white void.

'Now I know this is not a memory archive. Ugh, I feel like those clueless protagonists.'

So I did the best thing I could. Read. I read all of it, all 301 pages of it.

[3rd POV]

If Yggdrasil knew what Akasha was doing right now, she would slap him. Here she was covering her entire realm in a thick golden aura just to suppress his still-growing power. Her avatar had already retreated into her true form. She kicked out all residents of her realm, including Niðhöggr. Now her realm was the equivalent of amber. Not even the two dragon gods could move this much energy.

But at the centre of it all, Akasha was still sitting in his cross-legged position, unaffected by this. His energy was still the same, like a protective white sphere that shielded him from any external influence. Yggdrasil even doubted she could get through to him right now.

She was even using 58.% of her reserves just to hold it back. She couldn't wait much longer; if she stopped increasing the energy in tandem with Akasha, it would breach her realm, erase all but her and spill into the world, erasing half of it in an instant.

'Maybe this was a mistake…' How was she supposed to know that getting him to feel that energy was enough to cause this mess? It wasn't that bad when he accidentally used it yesterday, so she thought it wouldn't be much of a problem to try and get him to control it.

'If I reach 60% I'll have to kill him. I must always protect my planet, no matter what. Above 60% I would have to stop providing the necessary energy to sustain Earth, the barrier and the planet's strength.' She thought with regret.

As that number rose to 59.%, she gathered the energy needed to crush him. She needed energy that would not only overpower his void energy, but to crush his body and soul too.

And at the last moment before she would have to kill him, 'What?' The energy pouring off of Akasha stopped. His output ceased, and even the energy itself began to erase itself.

Yggdrisil too decreased her own output alongside him. This continued until her realm was only covered in a golden hue, and the void energy that once surrounded Akasha and threatened to destroy everything was gone.

Her avatar was now back, standing in front of him, waiting for him to exit whatever trance he was in.

Akasha opened his eyes, but unlike before, Akasha's previously blue eyes were now purple with golden pupils. She didn't feel anything off from it, but she would make sure to ask him, just to be safe.

Akasha doesn't even acknowledge her and just lifts his fist, opening it, and a white orb swirls into existence. Yggdrasil became wary seeing it, but when she saw Akasha smile, and proceeded to crush the orb in his hand, she let out a relieved sigh.

"Akasha, just… what was that?" She questioned.

Akasha finally looked at her, his eyes held a newfound wisdom to her, but then he tilted his head to the side with an innocent expression, "What do you mean?"

Yggdrasil looked at him strangely before sighing once more. "Shit." She cursed, probably for the first time in her entire life.

[1st POV Akasha]

'Note to self, never piss Yggdrasil off.' I noted while rubbing the massive red lump on my forehead that somehow was still stinging.

It took about an hour of Yggdrasil explaining everything, 'I was surprised I managed to hold myself together for a full day before really thinking about it.

Sure, I now have a good understanding of this void energy, but I can't even enter my own damn mind now because I could erase everything around me.'

I sigh and lie back down. I was in my cabin as I needed time to think everything over, the void, this world, this power and the possible future.

I was surprised I held off for over a day before coming to this point.

'…Haah, it's not like I can do much about it. All I can do is learn, adapt and investigate it all, just like a story, as long as I push forward, all will be revealed at some point. Whether it turns out good or bad is for the future me to handle.' I feel exhausted, mostly mentally, maybe entering my mind exhausted me? Either way, maybe I could just rest my eyes…for…a…while…Zzz…'

[3rd POV]

Tip of Norway

A young looking black haired girl watched the northern lights start. She had a blank expression on her face, as if she held no emotions. She tilted her head upward and suddenly spoke.

"Let me in."

They then went silent. No response was heard, just the whooshing of wind and snow while the lights lit up the sky.

Only minutes later did a green light shimmer in front of her, and she heard, "No." The green light then vanished.

The girl's blank face didn't change at all, almost as if she hadn't heard anything.

But she did, she heard it alright. "Let me in." Just repeated her words once more. This time, however, she only had to wait a few seconds before the light came back.

"Why? What business does the fragment of Infinity have with me?" The voice asked.

The girl frowned, "I want to see the outsider."

The green light didn't answer, nor did it vanish. Instead, it just stayed there, glowing and dimming for a while, but eventually the girl heard a reluctant-sounding, "Fine."

A green portal opened in front of the girl, and without saying a word, she walked through.

Once she had entered, the portal closed and vanished, as if it had never been there.

Not too far away from there did the air shimmer, and two figures popped into view.

One of them looked at the spot where the girl had previously stood and said, "We found one of the entrances to her realm."

They looked to their shoulder where a raven was perched, "What should we do, All-Father?"

You could mistake them for a crazy person if only the raven hadn't opened its beak and human words had come out. "Nothing. Both of them knew you were there; if they didn't do anything, she must be confident we couldn't do anything."

The man nodded. He might be a great assassin, but he highly doubted his concealment worked against a dragon god and the world tree of the planet. "Shouldn't we at least secure the area? This is the only entrance to her realm ever discovered."

"Hmm, yes. Set up a ward to keep humans from approaching at least, any more than she might interfere." Then a bright rainbow colored beam shot down onto the raven, engulfing it. The man didn't react, and only when the beam, along with the raven, was gone did he look to the girl's previous location.

"So how do I set up a ward?" He muttered in confusion.

Just a few days had passed since the incident of Akasha almost erasing half the planet from existence.

In that time, Akasha was given guidance by Yggdrasil and later Niðhöggr in controlling and utilising his power. Though they mostly focused on control for obvious reasons, he still learned a few things, the main ones being in little sparring sessions with Niðhöggr while he was protected by Yggdrasil's energy.

Akasha had the cumulative knowledge of 301 pages of information relating to energy, but his evaluation of the information was elementary at best. His showing of control was just the simplest utilisation of the energy outside his body.

So when he was trying just about anything in his spars with Niðhöggr, he had a thought: 'Could I solidify this energy if I make it dense enough?'

So after a couple of exchanges with Niðhöggr, Akasha retreated and closed his eyes, falling into a state of concentration. Yggdrasil and Niðhöggr looked at him curiously, Yggdrasil ready to flood her realm with energy if something like before happened.

Akasha raised his open hand in front of him. A sudden influx of energy that made both spectators flinch correlated into his hand. At first, it was a messy substance of unstable energy. Akasha frowned, but after a little longer, the energy started to take shape, becoming more stable, and even a rough shape could be made out.

Soon enough, Akasha was holding, yes, physically holding a staff shaped solidified mass of void energy.

He immediately opened his eyes and, with his free hand, wiped the metaphorical sweat from his brow, and excitedly started spinning the staff with a strange level of mastery that confused both himself and Yggdrasil. Niðhöggr not only didn't care, but also did not know weapon mastery. Why bother with weapons when his body is stronger than any weapon?

In his excitement, Akasha ended up slamming the tip of the staff in a piercing motion towards a hill in the distance, and what followed from this action was devastating.

The moment Akasha stopped the piercing motion, an immense spike in void energy gathered at the tip of the staff. Yggdrasil panicked and tried to reinforce the area, but it was already too late.

White, pure white covered everything in front of his staff. Akasha's eyes widened, and he immediately cut off the void energy from the staff, and the attack died, so did his staff vanish from the lack of energy supply.

Niðhöggr's dragon jaw hung open, seeing that the attack did, his body instinctively shivered, seeing what would be his END if it hit him.

Everything in front of him for several kilometres vanished, spreading in a V shape from the point of action was gone, trees, hills, a few mountains, and even the clouds had been erased with no evidence that they ever existed.

Akasha only had one reaction to this: "Oops…" and immediately felt Yggdrasil's hand on his shoulder, squeezing it with enough pressure that his bones started to break. What followed could only be explained by Akasha being bedridden the rest of the day; his healing speed meant nothing before this woman somehow. He could regrow an arm in seconds, but against Yggdrasil, it became useless!

[1st POV Akasha]

Not even a few minutes ago, Yggdrasil was in the middle of explaining the basics of physical enhancement using energy, but partway through, she had stopped mid-way speaking and frowned, looking quite frustrated and teleported away in an instant.

I didn't know why, but I assume it was maybe something to do with Odin; she did like to complain about how much he and his pantheon pestered her to become her ward, but since she already has Niðhöggr, she doesn't need to.

It was only when a green portal appeared a ways away from me that I took a step and was instantly before it. It was weird that she used the portal when she could teleport. 'Maybe she's bringing Viviane here again?'

What I did not expect, however, was for this small black-haired loli to step through. I was initially a little surprised, but that was quickly replaced by shock and realisation the moment I saw her face. 'Fucking hell. It really is DXD.' I wanted to kill myself in that moment, being in a world where grabbing someone's boobs gave them the power of the gods. I felt second-hand embarrassment just thinking about it.

I wouldn't have time to grumble further as the black-haired loli I knew as Ophis pointed at me and said, "Human," and then proceeded to grab my hand. "Good."

Behind her, Yggdrasil stepped through the portal with an apologetic smile. 'Just what the fuck is happening to my life?'

End of Prolouge

Void Energy - A form of erasure energy that nullifies existence, concepts, and even divine constructs. It predates the universe itself

Soul Archive - A metaphysical library within Akasha's soul. Gains, contains, and provides information beyond his memories.

Akasha Solara - The Main Character of this story

Power Level: Ultimate Class/Satan-Class (Only when using staff)

Soul Age: 158,942,635,223

Body Age: 19

Note: I should probably mention that the power system beyond Satan-Class is dynamic. You could see it as being the base level for someone in that class.

An example would be a dragon god. If a third was born, they would at minimum be that level of power in some way, shape or form, but can obviously be stronger, but will still be referred to as a Dragon God class being, even if they are much stronger, I will just say their power is of X class instead. Hard for me to explain easily, but it's easy to understand when you see it.

You can already see this with the god classing. Amaterasu and Odin might be seen as below the two heavenly dragons, but in actuality, either of the two would wipe the floor with Ddraig or Albion (In this AU).

Class names signify the minimum threshold, not fixed strength. A being may vastly exceed its class baseline while retaining its classification (e.g. A Dragon God-level God King/Queen would still be classified as a God King/Queen).)
