Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Trying to Mislead the Villain

Ethan Ye's heart suddenly surged with excitement.

This was an opportunity.

In his previous life, the "Demon King" Alex Lin first struck gold in the stock market — hitting every major bull run, even gold futures — and from there soared to the top.

Now, reborn, Ethan had to stop him.

At the very least, he had to slow Alex down and prevent him from rising so quickly.

But how could he trick him?

Alex was extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in every field. On top of that, he had the quick-witted Rachel Liu by his side. Just saying random nonsense wouldn't work.

He needed a logical, convincing reason.

After thinking for a moment, Ethan frowned and said,"I don't think the stock market is good right now."

Alex raised an eyebrow."Oh? Why?"

Rachel also looked curious.

"I'm just a bodyguard. I haven't studied much, so I don't understand complicated theories," Ethan began. "But I do know the economy isn't good right now — not just here, but globally. Stocks are constantly falling. Everywhere you look, it's red and green! Entering the market now is very risky. One careless step and you'll get burned."

He continued confidently,"And futures and options are even more unstable! They even have leveraged trades — one dollar acting like ten. The risk is enormous."

"As for bonds, the returns are too slow. Boss Lin, you came here to make achievements. High returns matter to you. You won't be satisfied with minor profits. So I suggest staying away from securities for now."

Rachel was surprised — she never expected a bodyguard to analyze things so clearly.

But Alex narrowed his eyes slightly. Something felt off about Ethan.

Rachel added calmly,"That's true — the global economy is weak right now. The securities market is sluggish. Either low returns or high risk. But I still suggest entering the market. Our funds are limited, so our options are limited. The securities market has high liquidity — we can pull out quickly if needed."

Ethan gritted his teeth internally. Rachel really was hard to fool.

Alex smiled."Brother Ethan, your reasoning is solid. But if we don't invest in the securities market, then what do we invest in? Any ideas?"

Ethan scratched his head like a clueless guy and chuckled,"I don't know much… But if I had money, I'd buy property. Real estate always holds its value. You can live in it or rent it out. Prices are rising all the time — we'd at least make something."

This was his first trap.

In his previous life, the global downturn caused real estate to collapse. Anyone who invested would get stuck.

And he gave himself a safe excuse — pretending he didn't know better.

Rachel shook her head,"The housing market is hot now, but both domestic and global economies are declining. Real estate relies heavily on capital. A freeze is inevitable — it's not wise to enter now."

"And we only have 100 million. In a big city like Mo Hai, what can we even buy? Too little to matter, too much to waste."

Ethan looked at her with genuine respect.

No wonder she became Alex's trusted right-hand. She could see the future of the real-estate market clearly.

Fine then — he had to keep trying.

"What about education?" Ethan suggested. "Even if a family is poor, they never skimp on their children's education. The industry is booming — tens of millions of people working in it, trillions in value! Parents will always pay for tutoring. No matter the economy, this industry won't collapse. Investing here would guarantee returns!"
