Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 — The Protagonist’s “Genius” Investment Advice

This time, Rachel Liu didn't immediately disagree.

After thinking for a moment, she hesitated."I also think the education market is worth considering."

Seeing this, Ethan Ye became energized.

Yes — go into education!

Right now, the education industry looked like it was booming to heaven. But soon, a national policy would drop like a meteor and wipe the whole field out.

If Alex invested now, he would lose everything.

Alex Lin nodded thoughtfully."Education is indeed a good direction. But the barrier to entry is extremely high."

He explained calmly,

"Education relies on strong teaching talent — which we don't have. Even if we partner with others, they'll squeeze us dry. We lack leverage. They profit, we don't."

"And most importantly — our capital is still too small."

Alex sighed,

"Education isn't a heavy-asset industry; it's brand-heavy. Branding requires massive advertising. Without huge capital, we can't establish a foothold."

"So, let's observe the industry first."

Ethan's excitement faded slightly — they didn't jump in.

But they also didn't reject it outright.

There was still hope to trick Alex.

Alex smiled kindly."Brother Ethan, good suggestion. Any others?"

"Of course!" Ethan replied eagerly. "Live-stream e-commerce!"

Alex raised a brow. "Live streaming?"

Ethan spoke passionately,

"Right now, live-stream shopping is exploding nationwide! Celebrities and influencers are making billions. Especially on Singles' Day — sales numbers are insane!"

"My advice: invest in big livestreamers or celebrities. You can recover your investment in one or two months. Risk is low, start-up capital small — one hundred million is enough!"

Rachel's eyes lit up.

She also followed live-stream shopping trends.

Top streamers earned more than listed companies.

Small investment, fast results — perfect for quick returns.

"I think this is a good suggestion too," she nodded.

Ethan fought a laugh internally.

Soon, the government would crack down on livestreamer tax fraud. Many top streamers would fall hard.

If Alex got involved now?

Complete disaster.

Ethan felt proud.I'm a genius!

Alex, however, stayed calm.

"Live e-commerce is promising. But like entertainment, it's talent-dependent. If the influencer collapses, everything collapses — just like celebrities who fall from grace every month."

"So we must carefully investigate and choose people with good reputation and character."

Alex smiled again,

"Brother Ethan, more ideas?"

Ethan excitedly listed several more industries — all seemingly booming…

But all doomed in the future.

Alex simply watched him with a gentle, encouraging smile.

This protagonist really has issues…

All his suggested industries?

Future landmines.Hidden disasters.Every one destined to collapse.

And he listed them so accurately. Was this luck… or something else?

Eventually, Ethan stopped, scratched his head awkwardly."That's all I know. Sorry if I didn't explain well."

He thought,

Stop here. Too much 'knowledge' might expose me.

Rachel Liu clapped lightly,

"Honestly, for a bodyguard, you know a lot. I'm impressed."

Ethan lifted his head proudly.

Maybe she would admire him now.Maybe even—something more?

Rachel suddenly wrinkled her nose and glared,

"Too bad you're a perverted exhibitionist! Tch!"

Ethan: "…"

His imagined future romance died instantly.
