Chapter 249 - Chapter 251: Weight of trust

The man couldn't help but smile back, utterly enchanted by her infectious joy. Amelia skipped along the sunlit streets of Sandy Haven, her laughter ringing clear and bright, bouncing off the walls and alleys like music.

Every corner of this country adored her. She was beloved by all, and in return, she treated everyone with kindness and warmth. Her eyes sparkled as she approached the palace once again, her gaze settling on her father's room.

Inside, King Rexar sat tall and resolute, facing agents from the world-dominating powers. Their smiles were cold, predatory.

"Let us handle this country," one agent demanded, "and you may live in the holy city with your family. What do you say?"

The King's voice was unwavering, firm as steel. "I refuse. I work for my people, not the dominion."

The agents' grins widened, sharp and cruel. "You will die, you pathetic old man."

Even though he knew the risk, the King's gaze did not waver. He would stand for his people, even at the edge of death.

{Back to the present}

Amelia's eyes filled with tears as she remembered the town she loved. "That's the town I cherish," she whispered to herself. "My father risked his life for it every single time. Please, Varo… I trust you. Restore the country to what it once was. I beg you."

She wiped her cheeks and stood tall, determination shining through her tears.

Ahead of them—the brothers moved forward. Their cloaks fluttered in the wind, each step heavy, deliberate, echoing with purpose.

Varo's voice dropped to a deadly calm, his tone a promise of retribution. "Orimo… you know what to do."

Orimo clenched his fists, the veins on his arms pulsing with resolve. "Absolutely."
