"I'm not insane," Dominic said with an agitated gaze.
"I can see that," the healer replied but Dominic could tell he was just being sarcastic.
Dominic sighed, out of all the bodies he could have gotten reincarnated too, he couldn't believe he got reincarnated into that of a null.
This world wasn't Earth rather it was a fantasy world called Omnithar. Unlike Earth where fantasy and people who could battle the gods existed on tv screens, they were reality here.
2000 years ago, Omnithar was in chaos. Acpocalypse descended on the planet. Countless monsters from who knows where appeared and started to kill humans.
No one knew the origins of such monsters but one thing everyone knew was, they were mindless monsters with the aim to kill, eat and destroy.
They could not be tamed, they could only be killed but the thing was nothing could go through their skin.
Bullets were useless, nuclear weapons couldn't even kill them, their skin was tough like metal. Then the Solaris came.
Some say he is a creature that can only be seen in dreams, others say that his physical body can't be seen but only his voice. To sum it up there are many tales about his true form.
The Solatris otherwise known as the solatris system granted mankind a way of winning the war against these mindless monsters.
He granted them systems.
Each individual had different systems, while some had the necromancer system which brought the dead back to life oithers had a sort of hero system.
The thing is with the Intervention of the Solatris system, the monsters were killed and everyone began worshipping the Solatris System.
Years passed after the Great War and babies were born. At first, everyone had systems until a child was born without one. People called him the first null or rather the first trash ever to exist.
Normally at the age of five, children naturally had their systems but this particular child had none. As he grew older, society scorned him because he was without a system.
He was an outcast.
With his appearance, several nulls were born and thus the dregs were formed. The dregs was the name of the slums where nulls lived.
If any nulls were found in the inner or outer city they would be cast into prison or the dregs. The outer city was a place where people with the bronze tier system lived.
The people in this world could be categorized into four groups;
The Super Elite (S tier); Super rare and they have skills capable of ending a nation
The elite (gold tier); They were nobles, warriors, and scholars with rare skills
The labourers (bronze tier); They are often menial workers or businessmen and they have menial skills.
The Nulls(Systemless); also known as trash.
Dominic happened to reincarnate into the body of a nineteen-year-old null who was courting death.
In this world, status was everything. The rich had golden interfaces while the poor had flickering brown ones.
He had nothing, no screens, no notifications, no quests, no levels-just silence.
No Null in their right senses participates in a physical entrance exam into an academy that only accepts People with systems.
To think Darius even had to fight with a person with a bronze-tier system because he wanted to enter a godforsaken academy.
In this world being a null meant death, nulls had no rights.
Dominic sighed. He had reincarnate into a the ninteen year old Darius Winslow. To be honest Darius was a little bit pitiful.
Darius was born into an elite family. Because his mother had died while giving birth to him, he became the apple of his father's eyes until his father found out he was trash.
To cut the long story short, his father remarried a woman with an elite son. No one except his father knew he was a null.
To the world, he was bronze tier, to his father he was a null.
Darius was a quiet kid, he was often bullied by his stepmother and brother and his father turned a blind eye to all of that.
Darius always wanted to win the favor of his father.
Dominic smiled, Darius was an idiot, even though Darius was parading around as bronze tier, partaking in Lunatria's Academy physical exam was nothing more than courting death.
Lunatria Academy only accepted Nulls who aspired to become an alchemist and the acceptance rate was 0.002%
Even if he got accepted, if the academy found out, he would be kicked out, if luck wasn't on his side then death was assured.
Dominic sighed, who knew the quiet kid would die while fighting a bronze-tier individual; to think one punch was okay to kill him.
Dominic shuddered, Darius might have died but he felt a little resentment for his father and his stepmother.
That emotion didn't belong to him.
Dominic sighed, from now on he would live as Darius Winslow. The first thing he would do upon reaching home was packing out of that godforsaken house and starting a business in the inner city.
He smiled to himself, starting a business in the inner system was profitable.
Unknown to Dominic or rather Darius, fate wasn't to go along with his plans.
Fate had other plans for him.
"Why are you smiling like an idiot," Dain asked. The healer in the room began to check Darius's vitals.
"Nothing," Darius replied. Darius stared at Dain with a scrutinizing gaze. He had searched the original owner's memories and Dain was nowhere to be found.
"I don't know you," Darius suddenly said.
"I know, that's why I introduced myself," Dain said with a patient smile.
"But why are you here, did you bring me here?" Darius asked in confusion.
"Yes, we all thought you died and the healers weren't available," Dain replied with a sigh, "To be honest no one wanted to bring you to the healers after all, no one wants to have a direct confrontation with your father."
"Everyone knows my father doesn't care about me surely you must know that," Darius said in suspicion, "so why help me?"
"Even though your father doesn't care about you, he is an elite, no one can change that fact, he might change his mind and decide to punish whoever made you like that, your father is an elite after all."
Darius sighed. Everyone might think like that but he truly knew that his father did not care about him.
It astounded him how his father cared about his stepson more than his biological son.
"I think this is for you," Dain said as he handed him a sword. Darius frowned as he collected the sword, he had no recollection of this sword.
A note on the sword caught his eye.
I hope you enjoy your new life, remember to live a great life or you might just end up in hell like you should have
Yours sincerely, Rena.
Darius tore the paper into shreds after he finished reading the note. He glanced at the sword in frustration.
Did she really have to remind him? For some reason, Darius felt like Rena was mocking yet helping him at the same time.
He stared at the sword in thought. Why did she give him a sword, surely someone who had already guided lots of people to the afterlife shouldn't be interested in a puny soul like him.
