Chapter 4 - SHARING THE SURPRISE

That evening, Isabella gathered her family in the living room. The sleek black envelope lay on the coffee table like a small treasure waiting to be discovered, its golden seal catching the last rays of sunlight streaming through the windows.

"Look at this," Isabella said, trying to keep her voice calm, though her fingers trembled slightly. She held up the invitation and tickets, turning them over carefully.

Her father, Christian, picked up the papers, scanning them quickly. His expression was calm, unreadable, but a faint crease at the corner of his mouth betrayed a hint of interest. "Hmm… interesting," he murmured.

Her mother leaned in, curiosity lighting her face. "Isabella… who is it from?" she asked softly, her hands clasped together in anticipation.

Isabella shook her head. "I… I don't know. It's from some CEO in Europe. I've never met him. And… it's for a wedding. I think it's some kind of fancy event or business thing?"

Her younger brother, Leo, eyes wide with excitement, leaned forward. "Wait… we all get to go?!"

Christian nodded slowly, still keeping his face neutral. "Yes. We'll go together. There's no need to split up."

Her mother tilted her head, puzzled. "All of us? Together? But… why?"

Isabella glanced at her father, hoping for a hint. He only smiled faintly, his gaze calm but unreadable. "We'll see Europe together," he said finally. "It will be… an experience."

Her older sister, Sophie, leaned closer, peering at the tickets. "Wow… first-class?" she exclaimed. "Is this for real? Who even sends tickets like these?"

Isabella shrugged, still trying to process everything. "I… I don't know. I've never gotten anything like this before. And… I don't even know who it's for. It just says it's an invitation to a wedding in Europe."

Leo jumped to his feet, waving his hands. "We're going to Europe! Venice! Rome! The food, the art, the streets! This is amazing!"

Sophie laughed, joining him. "I can't believe it. This is so fancy! Do you think we'll stay in a palace or something?"

Isabella smiled faintly, watching her siblings' excitement. She felt a strange mixture of curiosity, anxiety, and thrill. The envelope and tickets felt heavier in her hands now, as if carrying a secret only she could sense.

Her mother leaned closer to Christian. "Do you know anything about this?" she asked quietly, suspicion in her tone.

Christian shook his head, keeping his calm composure. "No. Just an invitation," he said simply, though his eyes lingered on Isabella. There was a depth there—a quiet warning, a subtle tension—but he gave nothing away.

Leo bounced in his seat. "When do we leave? I want to pack!"

"Patience," Isabella said with a small laugh. "We have some time. But… it's going to be an adventure, I think."

Her mother reached over, placing a hand on Isabella's shoulder. "It will be, dear. And it will be better because we're all together."

Christian finally spoke, his voice calm and measured. "Let's enjoy the preparation. We don't know what's waiting for us, but we will face it as a family."

Isabella nodded, holding the invitation close. She didn't yet understand its true significance, but a strange anticipation fluttered in her chest. Something big was coming. Something that would change her life.

And somehow, deep down, she knew she wasn't ready for the full truth yet—but she would have to be, very soon.
